    I did a 90 Accord cb7 and used all of the factory stock mounts that was in the car on an f20b you can also use the ECU out of a 95 Accord EX it kicks in VTech little early but the car runs and idles fine I did add a VTEC controller and where I can play with the tune f20b is a very cool motor A lot of people are scared of them because dealing with the computers and such an issue oh and I did mine with automatics I know Auto suck but it is a harder job to pull off stick shifts are easy

    You chose a great motor. H23a would've been great too. h or f both great

      +B P we liked the steal selves and the price of this one, because we are turboing displacement wasn't the biggest concern. Until later. I am curious to see how much the stock motor will hold, made 550 on a k series last sat. I wonder if that F20b will do 500 stock ..........🤔🚗💨😊👌😎

      Gearheads Autofab thats crazy bro, im an hf guy i like everything about them from looks to performance. Daily drive a h22a and couldn't be happier even though it pulling a heavy accord as well. Wanna go h2b on a civic with this motor in the future.

      Man Ef s have been my life. Had so many of them I still have my crashed crx in my garage ......sad cause I'm about to scrap it ......4 years and 100k in that thing ...... so sad to see it go.

      Gearheads Autofab damn bro im sorry to hear that. honestly, i haven't transition to the k series yet. I like simplicity, or maybe im lazy lol. But i find all the performance and potential i want in the f-h series. Call me old fashioned if you want, but i cant wait to go h2b i know a few guys and gals who have gotten great results out of that hybrid.

    Im doing an F20b swap on my 95/96 accord wagon but having trouble with it. Everything plugs right up except my dizzy

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  2 года назад

      Yep the distributor is definitely the only tricky part of that swap. Something that you can probably do is find a 95H 22 distributor, and see if it’s wired similarly to your car, some of them were internal coil and some of them were external coil, but if you find the right one it should fit the motor and plug into the car.

    Where do you buy spark plugs and wires ? I have the same engine f20b in a 1999 Honda Accord ex 5 speed.

    i have a 94 accord f20b swap. everything is stock but its idle high @2-3k also the guy i got it from doesnt have the coolant lines from iacv to waterneck.. any suggestions on fix?

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  7 лет назад

      Cameron Fountain , ok so high idle just means that there is too much air getting to the motor even with the throttle closed. Try this
      1. Make sure your throttle cable is not holding open the throttle body there should be a small amount of slack in the cable.
      2. cover the throttle body with something to block the air like a flat plate of metal or even card board or your hand even. see if it still runs , if so you know than the leak is external to you need to get some brake parts cleaner and spray everywhere on the intake manifold that could possibly have an air leak. Then plug what ever holes you find. (Don't sprey in the actual throttle body )
      If it dies when you block off the throttle body, then you have a totally different problem. This type of problem is more complicated , having to do with the iacv (idle air control valve) or fast idle valve.
      Any way try that stuff and see what you find hit me up if you need any other advice 😎👌🚗💨

    I just picked up a 92 Accord EX Sedan 5 speed with the F20B swap already done using a p13 ecu. For some reason it hesitates or backfires at wide open throttle. Also thinking about doing power steering in this car. Any suggestions?

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  4 года назад +2

      I would just recommend getting a tune because none of the stock ECU work well in America, also maybe check your throttle position sensor that’s what controls the fuel when you rapidly open the throttle. And of course check all your spark components.

      Nice !!! I'm not totally sure , I called and talked to Brian he's a good friend on mine he figured it out. I would suggest ordering from locash racing, he's right next to hasport and shipped then super fast .......and got me a deal 👌 ask for Joe and mention me so he hookes you up! Hope you swap goes good!

      I just did a swap on a 2002 Accord with f20b use all your factory mounts off the f23 engine if you like to see it running go to my channel you can see it installed but I used all the factory mounts and the factory harness with f20b computer and I even used an automatic cuz that's what the customer wanted

    Real quick I know this is an old build . But what fuel injectors did you use

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  4 года назад

      I think just the stock f20b injectors. But I wrote a custom tune. So any injectors would have worked

    So the f20 b and and f22 have interchangeable parts?

  • @kwsawade
    @kwsawade 7 лет назад

    So the main components you had to swap to make it run OBD1 was just the Injectors and Dizzy??? I have a 94 accord and am very interested in this motor.

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  7 лет назад +1

      +Kyle Sawade if it's 94 it's already obd1 like this one. The biggest thing is we had by to swap it over was the motor mounts. The wiring was similar enough to run the stock harness I just had to rewire the distributor. For some reason on the Accord's Honda went back-and-forth between internal and external coil, but our accord was already internal coil and so is the F20b which made the changeover very easy. Just had to compare wiring diagrams between the two. But we are very happy with the power of the swap and the money were into it is very minimal. This is a awesome swap with minimal work and cost .

      what style T bracket and engine mount did you get, H22 or H23 and did you keep the P/S pump and if so what bracket for that ?

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  7 лет назад

      Kyle Sawade we didn't keep the power steering , and we used hasport mounts and t bracket

  • @Blockie13
    @Blockie13 7 лет назад +1

    do you actually have to use 93 forever

    • @GearheadsAutofab
      @GearheadsAutofab  7 лет назад +1

      +Benjamin Hickson it depends on a few things, on his motor if he's just driving normal he could run lower octane, but he drives that thing hard all the time. Also in the winter he might be able to run lower octane because the heat is one of the main causes of detonation. He only makes 160 hp now so it's not like a turbo car or any thing. But because he has 11:1 compression so we have to be cautious of the octane.

      Christan Diaz find out a way to do the wiring on the dissy, and have a bracket off a prelude h22 to bolt up the engine mount. Everything else should be pretty straight forward.
