I got the black beast new exhuast on! it sound deeper then the stock on for sure but it has more drone on the highway.
it cost me $50 to just take the old one out and put this one on.
part number: 12599
Oops, never mind the drive by video, I received the muffler and was out looking to see what it would take to do the dual side exit pipes and it looks like I won't be able to do it. If I move the muffler forward to make room, the pipe bends downward to clear a cross member. The means the front end of the muffler would have to drop down several inches and that might create ground clearance issues. I'm going to stick with keeping the OE single tailpipe routing like you did. I'll weld in a 3.5" v-band clamp kit on the tailpipe so I can take the exhaust in and out without putting the truck on a lift.
I installed dual magnaflows on mine, inverted to stand up instead of laying them flat.
well im using decent headphones to listen to this video. I can hear deeper and smoother sound, probably even feel some of the low vibrations with the magnaflow Vs Stock.
I like the new sound better for my taste/opinion. The stock sounds louder yes, maybe so, but more metal sounding, and i see many people like that too, and thats ok. Thanks for the video, i would probably buy it for my 6.2 Gmc sierra based on this video. if the owner is happy, thats what matters!!!
perfect rumble...
I love how the stock sounds !
Bejo3313 yeah those 6.0L are beasts but adding this magnaflow added a deeper beefer sound
I have basically the same stock exhaust set up on my 2004 Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0L and have a Magnaflow 12599 on order. I'm trying to decide if I want to stick with the single stock 3.5 " tailpipe like you did with your Denali or run two 3" tailpipes and have them both exit the side of the truck in front of the right tire. I plan to do the welding myself and don't have a lift which makes it hard to snake everything back in in one piece. The side pipes would be easier from that standpoint but not sure I have the room behind the muffler to fit it all in. I can weld in a v-band clamp kit on the stock tailpipe if I have to reuse it. I was wondering if you could shoot another video of your Denali doing a few drive by shots so I can hear what it sounds like. Maybe one drive by at normal acceleration and one with hard acceleration. I'd really appreciate it and I bet others might find it useful too. Thanks for posting this video, it helped me decide to order the 12599 in the first place.
I put two straight through old school cherry bombs on my '05..and had the pipes bent to come out 1 on each side at an angle behind the rear tires
Sounded way better stock plus you picked up drone after? I know what I'm not doing! Thanks for posting, I just saved $80!!
it legit sounds way better now then it did ever stock and helped it flow a lot better. the video was just after I got it on. if I had to do it again. I would easily and drone wise I really don't notice it. we have been on plenty of long trips and never bothered me once. it did add about 1-2 mpg I noticed also nothing crazy but better than going down.
@MJBclassics I am a distributor for Magnaflow/Flowmaster/Borla/Corsa/Jones..etc. I saved $80 (my cost) By watching this video. I only looked up this video specifically to see how it sounded and it sounds like shit in my opinion. I went with Borla and I couldn't have chose a better muffler.
@MJBclassics and to clarify, yes we are LS engine experts. We build hundreds annually and sell thousands used. Why you are taking offense to a video posted showing the difference is beyond me.
@@repurposedperformance5762 If you were really an expert, you'd know that these mufflers take a while to break in. It'll take hundreds of miles and many heat cycles for the packing to burn, reshape and build up carbon deposits to give it a louder sound. I've used Magnaflows on many trucks for many years and they sound tame at first but get louder after a while. Don't judge it until it breaks in.
. 100% /\ this!!!
Hey, a buddy of mine just got an 05 Denali xl and it has the factory dual in dual out muffler, I want to weld in a aftermarket muffler like you, but a different brand, I'd just like to know what size pipes you used to connect it at the rear, I see the muffler is 3" in and out, and how you got them to line up, did you cut the pipes at a slight angle on the end to make it line up easier?
I think the muffler shop used some reducers. I can't really tell you man since I had a muffler shop install it man
Why does the magnaflow sound quieter than stock
Dude,
I hate to be the one guy here on the comments to give you an honest review of the sound but the stock actually sounded deeper, i could not even hear the new muffler, Now; if that what you wanted, if that's what sound or lack of it that you were looking to get then you hit it perfectly and im happy for you but for my taste i was hoping the magnaflow 12599 was going to have some balls, even baby balls but just didnt seem that it does. Listen to your vidio for yourself and you'll see what i mean. Maybe live its better but from that vidio it just appears the stock had balls and aftermarket did not.
Enjoy, keep on trukin.
I'll make a different video cause people say the same thing but its deep and sounds 10x better then stock in person. If you got this muffler u would love it
Yea wtf I feel like the audio was switched hahahahaha
It’s because of the bass tones you don’t get on camera lol
You need to back the camera away from the exhaust, its so close its drowning out the mic and not picking it up.
B4 sounded BETTER. IMO
In person, it's not even close. Stock has a burble at idle but hardly any sound on the throttle. The Magnaflow is deeper and louder, and more so after it breaks in.
Trust me, I've driven quite a few 6.0 Chevy trucks for work and they sound ok stock, but when I run into someone on a jobsite that has a 6.0 truck with a Magnaflow (or similar) exhaust, it sounds a lot better.
I put the magnaflow 2268 on my 6.0 Denali. the box says full boar performance maxflow SS. but it's false advertising in my opinion. very disappointed in how quiet it is... it sounds barely much better than stock..
+0307 0307 that must be a kbock off cause all maganflow is in a magnaflow box
It says MF 2268 on the box. Did yours get louder over time?
0307 0307 yeah it takes about 300 miles but my wife complains its too loud and its perfect for me
Ok. I just put mine on today. I had a wor out turbo muffler on. It's definitely straight through. So I'm hoping for more tone in time.
Sounds better stock
Absolutely not. You can't base the sound comparison off a RUclips video. If stock sounded or flowed better then magnaflow would be out of business. Come on now.
They have a decent sound at idle but it's not too deep and you really can't hear it when driving unless you're really on it at higher rpm. The Magnaflow is much deeper and toned and has a good rumble you can always hear, it's vastly different in person.
Should straight piped it or flow master
If u don't care about being loud and droney...the straight pipe but if u like a nice rumble muffler for sure
@@rikkidiesel what does droney mean ?
@@remydelatorre1897 like drone. Like when your driving and u hear that drone of the exhaust and loud hum while crusing down the road. Its cool if your just driving around town but if your taking long road trips...it gets old fast. I had my old 04 silverado and i hated it when I took a 6 hour trip
@@rikkidiesel oh okay thanks
You need to remake this
+Mario Maguellal Martinez Why? What do you want to know?
Better angles, what it sounds like from inside, and what it sounds like when driving down the road. Then it would be a sick video in my opinion
Please do a drive by
Sounds almost like the Cadillac Escalade esv
That's cause they have the same motor :)
hows the drone on the highway? i have 05 xl denali but im running a muffler delete and drone is a bit too much sometimes
its good its about stock cruising and idle its quieter but a little deeper but once u get on it its a different animal
+Rikki Diesel (Rikki Martinez) cool thanks for the reply. ill do a video soon on my exhaust if your interested on how it sounds
K sounds good man
This is the L96 motor ?
Gen 3 LQ4, gen 4 LY6/L96 came out with the 07 redesign.
what abt 03 yukon
What do u mean?
Do denalis con whith 3 inch pipe 🤔
I think it's a 2.5 or 2.75 pipe.
Rikki Diesel ooo ok thanks i got some long tube haders for my denali but don’t know if i need to change pipe some say it has 3inch stock some soy it dont 🤷🏻♂️
I think that the long tube headers will go into the stock pipe if I remember
right...I did the same on my 5.3 silverado. I got a video on my install on my
channel too. it was awesome and ran fast but don’t take a long trip with them
cause its SUPER loud lol in town is fun though
Rikki Diesel lol i bet ima go see and find the video where u instead the heders
How much louder is it?
It was more deeper but louder not a whole ton. The tone was just different and it sounded more meaner
Rikki Diesel I want something pretty loud would you recommend this based on the meaner sound I don’t like hearing my fans when I drive I feel like stock is too quite
I would say get a flow master 10. There pretty loud lol
@@Frost0001 I'd use a stainless y-pipe ?Magnaflow makes a good one), then a single muffler like a Magnapack, round Ultraflo or round Flowmaster FlowFX. Those will give it a good tone, not too loud but a lot louder than stock and shouldn't have much drone. I've found a 45 degree bend on the end of the tailpipe, or straight out the back, drones less than the stock 90 degree bend for some reason.
@@AdmiralRustyShackleford I ended up just doing a muffler delete and it’s great
😒
