I just finished listening to the entire podcast a few minutes ago, and although I’ve said this in a few other comment spaces and such in the past, just wanted to let you know again that your videos, essays, podcasts, and everything have been maybe the most prominent source of joy and beauty (among other things) in my life over the last two years, and I am more thankful for your presence in the world than I could ever possibly articulate.
Well this is a compliment if I ever heard one. I agree, mr Rogers (since he's into Japanese culture I like to call him "mr").The over-educated game critic is a beacon of light in this age of anti-intellectualism.
It's very rare when you come across another person's creative content where you immediately feel it in your bones. You immediately feel that this random guy or girl simply clicks with you and your current needs, so you simply sit there enjoy every second of that said content not because it's necessarily brilliant, but because it feels comfortable and relatable. I think alot of us feel this way about Rogers when we listen to him because whilst he's very intelligent, eloquent and expressive; he's also very relatable in terms of the topics he chooses to talk about. He's a fuckin genius with a beautiful mind who's ended up living the life of a world's most wholesome relatable nerdy gamer.
START THE PODCAST. Here are episode suggestions: 1. Bands I saw in basements in Japan 2. Oldest people in video game development 3. Truck Heck release date
I listened to the whole podcast and I appreciated your utter sincerity when describing how you feel about your work. I'm just a random internet commentator but I can say genuinely that whenever you make a video it is must-watch for me. Your verbosity and tone is something I can listen to for hours and not get bored. You have an overall pleasantness to you that doesn't come off as a farce but rather endearing. My three personal favorite videos of yours are on DQ11, Forza Horizon 4, and the one where you compared Yelp reviewers and Metacritic reviewers and got into details like the Classic Hater's Gambit and the trite board with an old teacher of yours. Oh and also in relation to the actual video, the way you talk about treating D'Babbis with love and respect is amazing as a fellow dog-lover. I hope you can find work that is more fulfilling moving forward. If you stop making videos I'll miss them greatly but you have to find what works for you above everything else. Hope you have a joyful end of the year to 2019!
Listened to the whole podcast, and gosh, gosh, gosh I just love you and everything you'd put on this Earth, Tim! I can't imagine being strong enough to live through half of what you've done. You may make content about video games, but just you talking nonsense about walking up a mountain in Death Strading for half an hour has been a wonderful highlight.
tim i would absolutely love to listen to you talk about not videogames on a podcast. i mean, i literally paid money for that once, and it was one of my favorite "walk and pod" experiences of my life
Please do a podcast if you can Tim, your videos have gotten my brother and I through some rough times and it would be healthy for my brother to listen to something other than your Dragon Quest 11 reviews over and over.
Tim, what I would love to hear you talk about is how you create your videos. I wanna know how you design the bonkers geometric backgrounds (like in this video) and how you chose the music that you always play.
i actually want to make a video on this subject! it'll be, uh . . . it'd be pretty long. i want the purpose of it to be like "stuff you need to know if you want to be my assistant" lol
Hi, Tim. In your video, “Pizza reviews are meaner than video game user reviews”, you mention (roughly, to my understanding) that good folk are often, in some circumstances, less likely to comment or contribute input. I propose that this comments section is perfectly demonstrative of that phenomenon, and that you should therefore consider each comment in favor of a Tim Rogers podcast, not one vote, but a BIG ol pile of votes and exuberantly positive clamorings. You create happiness with your voice. So I say, the more the better.
If you made a podcast I would not only listen to it, I would like it. I'd like to hear you talk about stuff that isn't video games. I also like to hear you talk about video games.
uh yeah bro. We'd listen to a podcast of you talking about basically whatever. Doesn't even have to be long. You have lots of friends and colleagues that would probably be stoked to come have a chat. I'd bet that there are a bunch of folks, like yourself, in the games industry that would like to have a nice chat about *not* games.
No offense intended Tim, but you don't sound like the kind of guy who is ever at loss of words. I'm sure that with some direction you could go on for a whole hour about any subject. I would particularly recommend your podcast to learners of english. If you can understand everything that this man is saying, you can get at least get an 8,0 on the listening portion of the IELTS test.
Well I guess none of them were "your" podcasts judging by your comments here, but you know Violence Island and Insert Credit were both very good podcasts
