Hey, Kiss Fans!
I'm 64 now and saw Kiss in my home town of Chicago in 1976! OMG!
I'm still a fan of the music and can Air Guitar every solo with exact precision. Pretty proud of that.
Rock On, People.🤟
They played a Homecoming weekend concert and was in the parade in my hometown. I was only 8 when it happened tho. Too young to see the show.
Can you imagine how many lives have this album changed? Pure ROCK and roll!
As a 12 year old when this album came out, it was my 2nd album purchase ever on vinyl (the 1st Being "A Night At The Opera"). The older neighborhood boys all gave me a hard time for buying a Kiss album. They were Zeppelin, Steve Miller, Heart, etc. fans. Fast forward almost 50 years and one of those guys is the biggest Kiss fan I know. To this day, I tell him "you're welcome" almost every time I see him.
mine
Alive! definitely changed my life. Gave me the incentive to pick up the bass guitar.
I was 13 and it did change my life!
Mine. Bigtime. In 75 at college had 3 guys and myself dress up as KISS. We paraded all the dorms. What a blast.
Wish I can go back to the 70’s times were way cooler and mellow than today ! Look around ! It sucks now!
Me too❤
1977. A 4 year old kid walks into Mushroom Records with Dad because the child was mesmerized by KISS on tv, the night before. This was my 1st Store bought record. Dad brought me home and graciously let me listen to Alive on the living room stereo, via his curly-corded Pioneer headphones. WOW!!!! I still giggle and maintain goosebumps until Nothin to Lose.
Same story for me!
I was a skinny 13 year old kid! It changed my life!
Believe it or not I still have the Gene Simmons toy, first edition.
🎉🎉
Same story, but mine was Rock and Roll Over - 1977 Brighton, MI - I can still smell the KISS tattoo packaging!
I was suicidal as a kid. My home was a horrible life but I worked and excelled in school because that was my escape.
When I got into KISS, I was still treated like an evil child even though KISS gave me confidence to be different and being different could be a positive thing.
So I’m 60 now and listening to this makes me cry unashamedly.
I survived because a weird 70s glam band told me I’m not alone.
Sorry guys, I’m not trying to get anything here but say that KISS literally got me through some bs, now, technically critic’s always butchered KISS for a non radio friendly audience but in truth KISS became a corporate money machine attitude and they didn’t disappoint there either, KISS ballad “Beth” won them a Grammy.
And drummer Peter Criss not only grabbed that Grammy, he put out “Hard Luck Woman” to verify his Pop prowess. Then they parted ways. KISS, like most success stories, ends with a bang.
The film “KISS Meets The Phantom” is like The Beatles “Magical Mystery Tour” for the Fab Four, a failure.
Hhmmm, where haven’t we seen this before in Rock n Roll’s history before?
Truthfully, KISS Alive I is what grabbed me, aside from the debut album!!!!
Love y’all,
Love your story
“Beth” won a People’s Choice Award ..dong think it won a Grammy. Doesn’t matter I suppose…it’s still a major song for KISS.
Your not alone there! It got me through my teenage years!
Your comment’s a stand-out. It really made me think. Thanks very much for sharing 🙏🏻
I too was suicidal then. I was unfortunately abused by my priest. Kiss music saved me I believe. ❤❤❤
This one and Frampton comes alive were amazing. Still stand the test of time.
I bought them both in 1976. Great times!
Hell yeah!
One of the greatest live album in history of heavy- rock music. Love it‼️‼️‼️
Great album, but not live. I'm sorry.
@@leocamposjf
Peter's drums + cymbals are ALL LIVE & GENUINE! Suck it UP!
Most "Live" albums are fake, or heavily, "touched up" in a studio.
Another fake "Live" is e.g. "Unleashed in the East" & "Made in Japan".
Who cares if they are real as long as it sounds good or even GREAT?!
@@mr.blackwell5423- True. Peter's drums were retained from the show for the album. So much for the momos who say Peter wasn't a great drummer.
The best hard rock album on planet earth!!!! Kiss my very favorite band!!!!! My very first taste of a real hard rock and roll album!!!! I had only heard Elvis Presley rock and roll big difference!!!!!! Thank you Kiss
That's how you become successful!
The best KISS album EVER!!!!
Very true. Yet as Eddie Kramer produced this album, he also produced Alive 2 and Alive 3. That man knew what he was doing and KISS knew it.
Eddie Kramer has always been KISS's favorite producer. Demos for the first album at Electric Lady Studios, KISS Alive! R&RO, Love Gun, Alive 2, Ace's solo album, and Alive 3. That's an impressive resume.
Correct
He didn't produce love gun!
@@ronaldnock9666 - Yes he did. I even Googled it and it says it was produced by Eddie Kramer.
This album changed my life in the spring of 1977. It had the anthems, the solos, the explosions, the rock and roll!!
This album me two and my brother listened to my kiss album's for a whole year!!!!! I asked my brother do you like Kiss, he said yes after, i listened to there album a whole year!!!!! I thought to my self, why would you listen a year before you decided?! I knew he loved my kiss album way before a year!!!!!!!!
Loved this album when I was a kid still love it till this day. Always will too. Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter in their prime and at their hungriest.
It’s back when Gene at least had a sense of humor with the others…
These four are KI$$!
Prime indeed
Don't forget Eric carr and Bruce kulick!
I have just listened to this whole album. I am in my room, and I'm 12. I just got this for Christmas. I still have it.
I got it for Halloween!
Thank your grandparents for teaching your parents properly
Im 11. Doing the same thing in awe of the sounds and looks of Kiss.
Cutting out pictures in magazines so I can tape them in my 6th grade locker cause my parents wont let me tape anything to my bedroom walls and let me tell ya what a badass locker it is..... 1992 for me ladies and fellas
That's the same age I was when I first heard that album!
The best kiss album, it still kicks ass!!!! 😊😊
One the best live albums ever. So damn good.
The best!
RAW! what attracted us to KISS.
Greatest rock album ever.
What a live album KISS before the money were awesome!!! Thanks
True
Man, I graduated in 79' and I enjoyed all the albums from KISS. It was so much fun back then, crazy girlfriends, parties, surfing, Newport Beach, And skiing the Californian mountains, even at night time!!!
Everywhere we went, music had to be with us. Let's not forget the change from the good old "8-track" to cassette!!! That was frigen incredible!!!!
What I am noticing now is that they didn't use many effects on the guitar playing. It was pretty much straight through the Marshall amps!!
Thx for bringing back so many memories!!
Hell yeah!! I grew up in Hollywood and my mommy was working for United Artist records at the time and she came home and said "here.... This album was lying around the office and I thought you might like it.... You ever heard of KISS?" Yup 👍 and I remember 8track tapes.... They sucked they would get eaten by the player after a couple runs.... God bless the cassette tape! 😎👍
Was there wit ya brother!
@@dionsanchez2775 Holy crap!! Reality!!
Look at me!! Look at me!!! Pfft.
Played this album to death! Also had it on 8-track! I even had a KISS birthday cake, for my 13th birthday in 1976! Good times!
🤘😎🤘
I will second the 8 track flashback
HA - save me a piece of that cake - CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
Bought the albums and recorded it on reel-to-reel for non-stop KISS jam! 👍
@@elvispresley3340 Much love Australia from USA! I just discovered Tommy Emmanuel last year! 🤯 I've been an ACDC fan since the 70s! The cake may be a little dry.
😁😎✌️🎸
@@freegee3503 A friend of mine had a reel to reel. It was awesome! I'm officially jealous!
😎✌️
This album is one of the most iconic & legendary albums in rock history. Add to Peter Criss’ iconic solo.
Totally agree. 1974, 1975 & 1976 was the best years of Kiss period!
Eric carr is my favorite kiss drummer!
The best version of Strutter ever in this world!
Strutter 79':
Cool!
One of the greatest live albums
Hands down!!!!!!!!
The first album alive platinum, double platinum, triple platinum, break record of sold😅😅
Absolutely, without a doubt.
@@carlosbosque5201- By this time it's likely quadruple platinum. By far the greatest KISS album ever.
Yes!
Had the privilege of seeing this Thanksgiving in Charlotte NC 1975 then Thanksgiving 1976 Destroyer tour then Alive Ii Jan 5, 1978 got shirt posters at that one 😎
That is awesome!!!! What do you remember most about that time period?
Awesome!
I bought this album when it first came out at age 14. I think it still holds up pretty well.
Yep, it's iconic ! 🎼🔥🤘
I got it for my 7th birthday in 75..still epic
A. solid. album. West
Was 12 years old, at the public library, and these 2 older dudes were photocopying the cover. I asked them who the band was, they gave me a photocopy, and I never looked back. That was in 1978, been a massive KISS fan ever since! This is their best album ever!
WITHOUT A DOUBT ! I honestly wore this one out and pissed off my parents in the process ✌️
photocopies and libraries #70skid
Cool!
Miusic of yea
I still remember what happened in my basement on Montana in Hollywood! It's KIZz 4 ever!!!
I played the record to death!
Kiss live 1 is the first album I ever bought with my own money that I earned back in the 1970s.
HA - I remember those days - paper run money - supermarket packing job - HA - CHEERS from AUSTRALIA
Mine was the first album, I was already into alive. That was the first time I heard about kiss. So I had to start from the beginning.
Me too
This is why everyone loves Ace! Not a technically great guitar player, but a real true rock n roll guitarist who just knows how to jam!!
ACE inspired more people to take up the guitar than any other musician. ACE played for the song! Exactly the right feel, style, he never over played! Brilliant melody! ACE is gut check lead guitarist. He plays from the heart. It's not how many super fast notes, it's about musicality! ACE is dead bang balls on!
I was born in 71 and my brother had this, he gave it to me and zeppelin too. Life was a joy to live in Burlington NC ❤
Raleigh, NC here and I was born in 61' Rock and Roll lives and I'm with ya'!
Wash DC here!
57 years old here in Roxboro, NC, became a Kiss fan in 1978.
This album proves Ace WAS kiss.
I received this album as a gift when I was 7 years old. It was the reason I became a Musician at a young age, I was gigging by 14..lol. People can say what they want about Kiss, but they are Rock Legends...
Oh yeah!
I was just starting 1st Grade when this album came out. Seems like yesterday. Lord have mercy.
Nice!
Nothin' but good memories. I was lucky enough to catch this tour. Nothing like it. By far the best show I have ever seen.
Caught it too. Styx and Mott were the supporting acts
Nice!
Best front cover!!
Yes!
I saw this tour, to this day it remains the greatest concert I ever seen...and the sound was amazing ! 🤘🔥🎼
Lucky bastard you (he said with a loving heart)!
Saw them for the first time on the dynasty tour!
I'm 65 now, but I saw this tour in Shreveport at Hirch Memorial Coliseum. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band opened for them. 2 fantastic shows for the price of one. And it was my first concert to boot! What a way to start out!
Amazing live from the summer of my years.
I bought this album in 1977. Their best live album
I think I bought it also in 1977. THEIR BEST ALBUM!!!!!
I bought it the first day it came out
@@angus7282 I bet you couldn't wait to get it!👍
Awesome 😊😊, though some songs 🔊 sound almost like the studio version, REGARDLESS, still a classic KICK ASS ALBUM!!!!
Of course it's great as it was the first but don't discount Alive II. It was still a monster in it's own right. The sad part of Alive II was that who was to know, that side 4 was to be the last of the "classic" KISS sound.😢
This is the definition of Rock and Roll.
👍👍👌👌💯💯
Amen brother
The intro into Deuce......this is my if I had one album on a deserted island. Im 53 and stare at that album cover and centerfold with the shot of Cobo Hall still mesmerizes me the same way it did when I was 7. Got to see the 96 reunion in Tiger Stadium!
I was at Tiger too...in FRONT of front row
@@MENFUSSMIKE So lucky to see the show that close. My wife and I were in nosebleed seats....essentially had to watch the show via the big screen. Last time I ever attended a show with terrible seats. When Paul McCartney came to Tiger Stadium in 2012, we were 7 rows back center stage....same with Rush at the Palace. Ace was absolutely killer on this night!
Seen them 9 times!
This album is golden, my youths rock and roll bible
Worked four days painting my grandparents house got $18..next day went down to mall and grabbed this toe tapping album.... 👍🇦🇺🤙
This period of KISS - arguably their heyday, forever shaped Rock and Roll stage performances afterwards
When I was 6 this was the coolest band in the world they loved their fans and we lived them
I'm 59 and they still are!!
First album I ever purchased! I was 9 years old and heard KISS for the first time when a younger friend of mine put the Rock N Roll Over album on his record player. After seeing the album cover and hearing the first two songs, I was hooked for life!
I have the same thoughts. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
My experience was the opposite in a way. I hated Kiss. But my sister bought me the album for xmas 1977 and it sat there. Until I felt guilty. I remember thinking I have to play it at least once... I did. Then I thought ok not too bad...But I wasn't hooked yet... 2nd round and I was done... Kiss fan music until today, bit I hate their politics😅
At least their not as bad as Lars Ulrich!
Colombia 🇨🇴 the same that cover got me and it change my life for better
I was 2 when this came out. Lol. I was a fan once heard their music on the movie "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" My first cassette tape was Paul's solo. I absolutely loved that album! I played that tape over and over. I noticed no one seemed to like thim in the community i grew up in. This is the first time I listened to this album. I will buy it on CD now. Thanx for sharing.
You'll love it!
for me afther 42 years still the greatest rock album
Same here!!!!
I am again the 9 yr old boy that first heard and saw this and was Amazed!
Totally!
First time for me I was at a neighbor kids house and when walking through their kitchen, there it was on the kitchen table....the kiss "spirit of '76 poster with Peters' bloody bandanna and the other 3 so glammed out. I said " who's that?"
Changed my life right there
This is what you call music😍🥰🥰
The 70s where magical
Whatch you're spelling
This is favorito my band ! Thank you very nice... 😎🖐🤣✌😵🇨🇷
This came out on my 15th birthday and changed my life.
I was a little too young to see them on this tour, but I played this thing to death. Must have melted faces live.
They did, I was fortunate to see this tour ! 🤘🔥🎼
Right now going through a divorce and this album helps me to get through the day
Man i hope it goes well
She's in Kansas I'm in pa it's not good
Make sure your x wife doesn't get your copies of this record! I said copies because you always need a back.up just in case!
She took everything I listien on my phone
Sorry but if my wife filed for divorce I would tell her to stop theatening me with such a good time!
This is my favorite album of all time. Crank it up!!!❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘
My first concert Shirt KISS ARMY 4 EVER !!!!
My first KISS album, and my favorite era of Kiss. Still staring at the cover...
That cover is iconic. You are so right…you’d stare at it forever, it seemed!
@@KISStributeNYC97 Back then I thought Ace was the leader 😆. Merry Christmas 🎄
Stared at the cover for hours myself. A stoned 15 year old
Mine too! I didn't know who KISS was! I just liked the album cover!!!!!!
The cover is great but not an actual live performance pic...it was staged.
I am back again listening - thanks for posting this - I never got to see them live. My best live experience was MOTORHEAD - their last concert in MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - I took all my sons back stage to meet the band - F-CK - it was LOUD - HA - once in a lifetime for the boys - the band signed stuff for them. Then not long after - Lemmy died (on my birthday) - never again got the chance to meet the band here. Listening to this KISS album brings back so many memories - I hope you ALL enjoy it as much as I do - once again - thanks for posting. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
You did it right Sir. Greetings and Rock on from Frankfurt, Germany to Down Under. Btw we love QLD
@@thomasmo4334 CHEERS from AUSTRALIA Thomas.
I was in India when my sister shipped this double record from the US in 1984. I could not believe my ears. I must have listened to it for 3 months straight. The absolute best LIVE album made. Each song is excellent. Maybe a close rival is Iron Maiden "Live after Death".
My father hated himself for ever buying me this one! But every time he said turn it down I couldn't here him anyway!!🎸🎸🔥☠️🤩👏👌😎😎👍

you gotta be joking Amitabh - you never heard 'Slade Alive' or 'Live & Dangerous' by Thin Lizzy?
BELIEVE ME!! THAT SHOW WAS LIVE. I WAS THERE. 15YEARS OLD.
With the distance of some decades in my opinion this is the best KISS album ever!
My first record at all and still love it!
Yes it is
Amazing!
Although Kiss had already recorded three studio albums prior to this one, they still weren't being taken seriously enough, and Alive was thier last resort,it would either make or break them, and fortunately it was a huge success scoring a hit with Rock N Roll All Night.
After listening all the way through now I see why this album is so highly regarded. It's literally great material that sounds better than the original release. The acoustics and energy and standout performances make this a classic all-time LIVE rock album! 🤘⚡🎸
Great way to put, rock on cat bro!
Even though it was completely re touched up in the studio.
@@jamesschaidt1096 - so some claim. They didn't have the money so how did they do that? They've even said they didn't have the money to do another studio album so how could they have re-recorded 16 live songs? Because that story is BS that's how. They touched up certain things and released it. Eddie Kramer was a cokehead. He's misremembering ALIVE II for Alive!
@@brianstrutter1501 Alive took off and generated millions, afterwards Casablanca poured more millions into the band. Everyone knows all " live" recordings are touched up in the studio before being released. The only true live Lp I know of is The Who Live at Leeds, you can tell that that slopfest is 100% live, lol.

So many memories
I love it.!!! full power.!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Best live ever ...nothing beats that 💙🤘
I dunno their Unplugged album was pretty good too
Best Live album ever!
Love 'em or hate 'em, Kiss definitely carved their own niche and established their brand. They also made it possible for other bands, like Rush, to make it in a rock world that typically didn't appreciate hard rock, metal, prog. Thanks Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter.
Kiss is in no shape form or fashion a progressive rock band. The music these morons put out was far to simple and basic.
Geddy Lee of Rush (who opened for Kiss in 1974-75) said that 'Kiss taught them how to 'be a working band'. Not the music, but everything else.
I love em'!
2:30 - 3:22 = THE MOST CRUCIAL MOMENT in Rock & Roll history !!!
And 6:45 = Ace's coolest solo on ALIVE!
Next to his live solo on "Deuce", of course!
And 17:19 = GOTTA LOVE THAT WAILING 1970's siren!
+ Gene's awesome Gibson Grabber/Ripper bass guitar!

KISS ALIVE! The best ever live LP ever recorded live in history. 8-Tack 12 years old still have it at 61 years old...
All killer no filler!!! 🤘✌️
I play it still kiss will rock my world till I die.
KISS Alive Tour was my very first rock concert in 1975 at the Los Angeles Fabulous Forum when I was just 11 years old. Nick "Hot Child In The City" Gilder was opening act followed by Montrose with Sammy Hagar on vocals and supporting the "Rock Candy" album with KISS the headliner.
My two older sisters Tracey & Christina bought me a ticket as an 11th birthday present.
I just turned 60 years old last February 9th 2024 and just finished playing along with the entire "Alive" album thanks to RUclips. That show was the game changer for me that had changed my life forever and the single biggest reason I still play guitar everyday. I had just become Ace Frehley for the last 1:18:17 of this afternoon.
I'm on a roll now and might as well become Ronnie Montrose next and play guitar along with the entire "Rock Candy" LP from beginning to end in it's entirety then of course Nick Gilder's album right after.. 🎶
❤👨🎤🎸
Thanks Tracey and Chrissy ❤
I love both of you almost as much as all of my gang of gorgeous guitars 🎸
After hearing this album for the first time!! I was instantly a KISS Fan!! I had all their albums, 8 Tracks, cassette’s, and all their songs on my iPhone!

KISS WILL LIVE FOREVER
Remember putting this on the turntable in 76 ….mind blown…especially for a 14 year old…one the greatest if not the greatest live albums ever!
reminds me of riding in my brothers car.he was 17 i was 12. 8 tracks & craig powerplay speakers cranked in 77.those were good days, NO worries in the world.
The first 6 in order are a series of great songs. Cassette player mounted on the ceiling of the '65 E-100 van. It's a wonder I'm still alive.
Why? People don´t like music, loud music perhaps, in public.
It's worth a deuce! Got turned on to this album when it came out by my good friend Joe went to the 78 show at Magic Mountain and am in the Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park movie exclamation mark to cool or what!!! This is rock and roll
