That’s Ragnars way of giving Ivar his blessings remember he asked all of his sons to come with him so he could spend his last days with them they all scorned and turned him away for their own purposes Ivar is the only one that wanted to do and he actually got mad at his brothers for not going with their father so in that moments Ivar became the blessed one why do you think everything he puts his hands and mind to flourishes
They all have his mindset. Ivar is his wrath and ambition. Ubbe is his curiosity and craves exploration. Bjorn was most like his father and more for sure.
Ivar has learned what his brother's hasn't, that Ragnar isn't over the hill. True, he's milder now but he's determine to get his revenge on England and Ivar is his vessel. Ivar found out that Ragnar isn't all trusting in the Gods like most Viking, he's learning how to use cunning over outrage emotions. It's Ivar, not Bjorn or Ubbe who became the most famous of all the brothers.
yes, yes, yes, someone who gets why ivar is who he is . he is ragnar made over but with more bloodlust and rage . his true heir to kattagait and wrath to whole world . and is cunning and untrusting to some .what it is to be a great warrior king
I love this scene so much. I read that Ivar has 15/16 years in this season, but he looks like a child spending time and having fun with his father. Also this scene makes me a little bit of emotional because it makes me remember when I was a child and my father took me on his back like this, after a long day playing in the park, because I was so tired and I didn't want to walk back to our house.
Remember ragnar tried to kill him not because he didn't love his son as a viking fighting was the most important thing in their life and ragnar didn't want him to suffer more
You can tell this time that Ivar is spending with his dad means the world to him. He gets to have some one on one time with Ragnar and its during this time that Ragnar instills in Ivar, confidence, courage, strength, and a sense of destiny. Ivar the Boneless never becomes without the time spent with Ragnar.
Challenging his father's thinking whilst being carried. This is love. He could've said some bullshit to motivate him, but chose to make it harder. Think while carrying weight. He basically said, "you did all this by yourself".
These two are so much fun watch. I'd like to see more of this and less of Kattegat. What I'd really like is if the show creators would kill off Zena Warrior Princess, AKA Lagertha. These 95 pound cheerleaders charging into battle is a real eye roller, for me.
+Ed Harley I don't even know what she's trying to accomplish here. She's a leader, her son commands 60 ships and she's not with ragnar anymore. Why kill dozens of your own people for kattegat when one of Ragnars sons is prolly gonna take back anyways.

+Ray Berto She could have gone with bjorn. But I have a feeling this is just an easy way for the writer to bring together the Vikings for the great heathen army.
Remember, this kid is the same person who scared an entire Saxon army by just screaming at them
The one he tired to kill just after the birth, spent his last days of life with same son and gave him his arm ring.
Beautiful

Athelstan was the same way. He tried to kill him and became his closest friend.
I was dubious about Ivar at first, but scenes like this are awesome. It's clear that Ivar is the son that has Ragnar's mindset.
It’s ubbe
King Slayer ubbe had Ragnar mind when Ragnar was young but ivar has Ragnar mind in his late age
Yeah Ragnar choose Ivar ❤

@@ZarelidT makes sense it seems like each of the Ragnarrsons are different aspects of Ragnar
“Come on donkey” .. .. I swear if I say such a thing like that to my father no one will hear about me after
Which is a pity, not to have humor going on between children and their parents. Respect isn't that all fragile.
Huuu, quality time between father and son, Ivar seems enjoying this so much.
Travis did this scene while carrying a grown man and talking at the same time, amazing actor!
Acting skills ridiculous, and he was probably the best athlete in the series
Ivar has 23 chromosomes its not gonna be that hard
He's probably only like 140 or less
@@lifeisberserk9566 IQ?
He and Clive (Rollo)

That could disappoint Floki.

Danny Johnson He's also one of the most, if not the most, known Viking in history.
Bjorn and Ivar fought alongside each other and loved each other in real life. The most famous viking would be Leif or Eric the Red though.
Well it depends...halfdan and sigurd are pretty famous but yes..not everyone knows about bjorn or ubbe as much as they know about ivar
Ivar was the only person who can speak to Ragnar like that
Ragnar & Ivar's Excellent Adventure ;)
“Then we’ll turn around and walk the other way.” 😂
That's Father-Son Bonding that's the way to do it, comical moments, questions of fate, & of course acceptance with one another

ivar was so innocent here
Remember ragnar tried to kill him not because he didn't love his son as a viking fighting was the most important thing in their life and ragnar didn't want him to suffer more
This is the quality time Ivar needed with his father when he was a child .

Hahahaha Hodor! 😂

+King Hodor The One True King of Westeros Hodor! Hodor! Hoodoo r! Hole in floor! Hole in floor with snakes!
Ray Berto hahaha Hodor! Snakes are coming! Uh... Hodor!
Lol
They look like fine father and son but they slaughtered their own men right before this. For sure they both are ruthless.

This is great acting too. Ragnar got irritated at the donkey joke, but shook it off cuz he remembered it's just his son fucking with him.
grizzly bear beard ragnar was the best

Same here, but seems like Zena is gonna have a new sidekick this season.
Remember back in season 1, when Lagertha was a woman? So long ago.
