All four zones together has received many EXP gain buffs since they were released + the Echo after ShB launched. Pagos almost killed the Stormblood relic entirely when it was first released.
The grind is much easier now. Paz feathers/other monster drops for weapons were only 1 at a time on gold, NMs took longer to spawn, light farm was also slower, less crystals per NM, less XP from weekly challenges, no echo and the worst part was a min LVL Req for mounts... Watching this in 2022, I actually didn't dislike pagos hah, like I understand people don't like the "drop off the wall" and "walk by the dragons" mechanics, but I find it different and refreshing for once I have never done that in any other place, I just remember back in 2.0 maybe having walk as a mechanic for some monsters to not aggro them, but then we became powerful and it doesn't matter anymore. What I do dislike of Eureka as a whole is the death penalty, there are times at night when there's no much people doing Eureka let alone pagos, so getting a ress is not easy. Last night we were doing Louhi NM, my party wiped because I was the only tank and the lvl 40 monsters getting pulled here and there + ads were just too much for me and the healers. I had to take a penalty with one of the healers to rescue the others. We did end up killing it though, but lost over 1.5m exp from that. I'm close to finishing the 2nd stage (and already have plenty light for the 3rd stage), I'm hyped for Pyros, people talk really high about that zone so if I didn't mind Pagos I'd probably love Pyros, I'm just doing Eureka for the armor basically, but might actually end it as it's been content I've been enjoying the past week.
So when Pagos came out, I leveled in it solo twice on Samurai. Which probably wouldn't surprise you, but with this... *rubs hands together* 150% Echo OH BABY
I did this grind about 2 weeks ago now. I had not done any form of Eureka before hand, but went from level 1 to 60 in 4 day of at least 10 hours a day.
I’m almost done with my Eureka Weapon…. Yes in 2023. Sure it’s a PITA but I have so much fun and am currently trying to clear Baldesion Arsenal for the shape-shifting marble mount
I have to admit I just got into FFXIV so I have no idea what this is, but I look forward to finding out. I'm having a blast trying to get up to the point to were I can grab the Dark Knight class.
When you have at least 1000 hrs in an mmo 7 hours really isn't anything at all. 7 hours is not a long time especially if you view it as 1 hour every day for a week or 3 hours in one day and 4 hours in the next.
7 hours for 20+ levels is crazy fast... In FFXI, 7 hours of grinding would get you maybe one or two levels assuming you were chaining well and didn't die and lose exp at any point.
I just discovered the Elemental Fending set last night, and now I need it... so this is a good video for me since I need to get into Eureka for it but have absolutely 0 fucking idea of what I’m doing lol
just recently did eureka and went from lvl 20-60 in a little under 3 days of playtime it went by so fast and got my eureka wep maiming and fending set it blew my mind
If you're on Crystal, join the United Eurekan Front and Crystal Exploratory Missions discord servers They're always running BA and you'll definitely be needing to join a BA discord if you want to get your Ozma mount Not gonna link the discords because idk how MrHappy feels about that
I checked Eureka out for all of 5 minutes when it came out lol this has encouraged me to go back as I would love to get the Scorpion Harness (Old FFXI player here).
I've been grinding the physeos weapons for a couple months now. Only 3 left and am only gated by Hydatos crystals. It's a long grind, but you can actually level from 1-60 pretty quickly with the help of some friends.
Completed Hayatos and got my glow stick katana (which I luv) and haven’t been back since (pvp addict so..) but I honestly miss Eureka so badly as a whole. Was by far the most enjoyable experience for me...a throwback to 11 days where you had to grind for that advancement, which definitely generated a deep sense of accomplishment. Honestly, I hope SE just says screw the lazy people who want easier ways and gives us more Eureka content. I’ll gladly be first in line.
I gave a try to eureka but droped it almost immediately, didn't gave it another try until Pyros was announced and news of the logogram system and how much better was then, but I finished Anemos, went to Pagos and right away was pissed off that I couldn't mount, took me less than an hour to NOOOPE and get out of there, no relic is worth that grind. Didn't came back until early this year, now that you can plow thru monsters has become bearable enough that I finished all the stages of the relic. Still haven't gone to BA tho. If these new Front thing is like Eureka at launch I would gladly take the alternate route to relics.
I’m new to the game and I remember seeing all these cool glowing weapons people had and wanted to get one of them. Then I heard about Eureka, and now I’m here
Check out the anima relic weapons too. I think they're prettier and more glowy* but that's my opinion. Check a video on RUclips. It's how I decided which relics to grind since it's all about glamour for the old ones
@@zedlin4986 I didn't even know about those. I was referring to the relics but those are nice. Well I like the bahamut ones. I'm not done with shb yet but I am 80 so maybe one day. I disagree on the more glowy comment but for sure they're more of a flex
So I see your using both dancer and Machinist in your video. Do you have to use the class in order to unlock that weapon or were you able to use dancer and upgrade the machinist relic weapon?
Mr happy when you mean killing place holders NM do you mean when you reach the level of the NM of the zone you kill their correspondent mobs in order to spawn it? im super new to Eureka
Sort of. Each of Notorious Monsters spawn in their own particular area in the zone, and the "placeholder" mobs are the normal mobs in the same general area as where the NM spawns. For example, the level 11 NM Serket is spawned by killing Khor Claw (scorpions) around (x25,y18) in Anemos. So you just camp in that area and kill every Khor Claw that you see untill the NM pops.
Love your videos. Recently transitioned from ps4 to pc and I’m trying to figure out how to best layout things. A video on some tips and must haves would be great! Thanks for your content.
Tl;dr: much better/faster now and less of a chore, but still grindy. I still think eureka was not good or fun. As an MMO player since the early 2000's, I was always glad that ffxiv took a different approach as far as leveling and grinding map mobs goes. I abandoned eureka at LVL 14 or so on stormblood and only came back this patch (5.25) as a way to kill time and finally get my glam/relic from there and maybe a mount or two. It was waaaay faster with higher exp yelds and no "mount LVL Req" BS and it made a world of difference since the quantity of placeholders needed for a NM pop is way lower now. It's at least doable and feels less of a chore nowadays, and I'm actually enjoying the storyline (which is always a strong point for ffxiv) which was locked away behind a boring grind wall. I still haven't finished it, I'm halfway through hydatos, but it's much better now to play, this coming from someone who abhored the launch day grindfest it was.
When you discussed picking which job to do it on, does that mean you don't have to run the content on the same job you want the relic weapon for? For example, could you work on your MNK relic while running Eureka as BRD? For the completionists (masochists) out there that might want to obtain and upgrade all 16 Eureka weapons, could they do that all on one job? When you said the next step is to decide which job to do it on and that some were easier than others, that sounded to me like the decision was based on class mechanics/efficiency and not driven by which weapon you want.
You can work on any weapon as any class, elemental level is also tied to your character so you can change to a different class and not lose levels if you want to So like you said, you could get your monk relic while playing as a bard :v And yeah you’re right about choosing the class to play as is more about efficiency than what weapon you’re after. For example healers are quite helpful bc no matter what elemental level you are, a rez is still a rez. Even if you’re dealing no damage you can still bring up other people with better damage 😎
I had a good time in Anemos but got burned in Pagos. Simply stopped there. Even after they nerfed it and/or made it hell of a lot more accessible, I still zoned in, sighed, then left the instance. I hope I can get around to it... someday. Would really like the shiver emote lol.
Light farming is stupid easy if you chain mobs to chain 4 and kill a dragon on the 5, 10, 15, etc. chains. You can even do this in the cave to the forge for ease of access to dump your light. I did it a couple days ago to get my second weapon and it took me like 30 mins
@ Ugh, I guess, but I'm no longer unemployed.... plus.... I get Poetics from just doing content during leveling, while Eureka is a separate thing out of the way of everything else, so I do feel less motivated doing it.
I got my HW's relic series done. While doing Eureka i'm gaining the tombs to help do my ARR weapons. Working my 5th ARR. because of Eurekas Poe tomb droprate is nice. HW done. Eureka 7th weapon n ARR 5th. I'd say i'm a madman.
My question is, where do you find people to clear BA now in 5.3 patch? I never touched Eureka and want to clear BA by starting now before 5.35 patch. I'm on Primal datacenter.
I’ve been doing eureka since late March and have 7 physeos weapons left to get. Got all the +2 and Kirin/vermillion . Got all the final glams... just still running BA to get physeos elemental bonus on all the weapons cuz I’m crazy
I'm level 38 and I have some seeious problems with Pyros. Leveling there is so much pain, because the bunny fate is only fate in low level area, and it doesn't give much exp.
The biggest hurdle for me to have ANY motivation to do this content at all is that its only used for making relic weapons, and nothing else. The old relic weapons can be made by doing daily roulettes and I can use it to level up alt jobs and get some gold at the same time.
I think this highlights the problem with open world and class design in FFXIV. There are very few classes that can AOE down a load of mobs without dying, and some mobs just take ages to kill. You don't feel like a Warrior of Light when it takes you 60 seconds to kill a beetle
Completely different concept. Your XP goes to your Elemental Level exclusive to Eureka. None of it goes to your normal level. For alt jobs, Bozja would be the zone content to look at. Mettle rank is a separate mechanic from leveling in that.
I’m thinking about getting back into FFXIV my question is can we get some of the best gear in the game by doing eureka content ? Other then having to do raid’s to earn the best gear this game has to offer.
cant answer your question as i dont know but eureka gear looks sick as fuck , ive seen it in game and its almost made me want to do it for the glmaours
honestly i did it whit tank(drk) was lvl60 but i finished more weapons even whitout full element gear(to test how hard the zones are realy) u can pretty easily solo any fate in eureka on dead ini which is quite nice :'D the only thing that realy could kill me was insta dead crap. in pyros and hydatos u could use logos which made it even easier heal or bloodbath(i think its called where u heal for a potion of dmg u do) made it pretty chill and haveing a shit load of hp unlike back then makes eureka even more of joke :'D
I’ve gotten 2 completed Eureka relics, so I’ve spent a BUNCH of time in there. And, I won’t lie- Eureka is actually really fun once you get the hang of it! It’s difficult but rewarding, and the Baldesion Arsenal is one of the best raids in the game.
Hey guys i'm doing a lot of research on either purchasing the game or not, i've played the free trail and enjoyed the story but the combat is feeling really slow., does the combat does get any better and more enjoyable later on in the game?
Yeah, the combat will get better as you get higher in level, get better stats, and you'll also have off global cooldown abilities to use to fill in the gaps between moves.
Honestly you can't experience much in the free trial, and I remember being in the same predicament you're currently in. I'd never paid for an online game before hand and I didn't have any FF experience back then either.. but I went for it and never looked back. Honestly this is my all time favourite game. Played for a good 5 years now and I still play it 😁 if you like the concept of mmorpg's I'd highly recommend playing ffxiv. The gameplay definitely picks up when you have the full game, as a lot of classes are fairly slow at the beginning.. but it's worth it in the end !
Thanks a lot for the responses guys also which platform is best steam or from their website? I’m most likely going to purchase the game but I’m not sure which is best to purchase it if I purchased it on their website it’ll usd which will end up being more expensive for what I’m paying (CAD)
@@Chino.R3 some people are perfectly fine with steam. a lot of people like being able to use the steam wallet and have the overlay. but if you use steam i hear you are locked into steam for purchasing all future content. i just never saw a reason to go through something else to play the game when i can just get it straight from their website. sometimes steam does weird stuff like turning my auto downloads back on while im playing another game and randomly uninstalling my games so that i have to reinstall them again. its like having an extra unnecessary step that could go wrong. i remember reading the game's steam reviews when i was debating as well and the vast majority that are negative are not about the game itself but through steam complaints.
You stated that the XP and 150% echo effect are permanent? The buffs last for an hour. They're easy enough to re-acquire, and you can even dispel the damage buff to get it back if someone else with no buffs runs into range of the elemental, but you can NOT dispel the XP buff and must wait for it to drop before you can refresh it.
I just did Eureka for the first time in 2023. I hate grinds, so I wasn't looking forward to the leveling system, and I hate even more the fact you can lose XP and go down levels if you die and rez on your own. I spent a half hour leveling in Pagos, then died and rez'ed myself because no one would come and rez me, and I lost so much XP it undid the last half hour I'd just spent leveling. It made me want to just quit the content right then and there. But I stuck with it, essentially leveling casually so I could take full advantage of the weekly challenge log and it took be about a month to get all the way through Eureka Hydatos (I still have Baldesion Arsenal I need to clear).

As a solo player, all I can say is NO.
Will this help me get the glowy armor?
I have never done this piece of content and I can tell its going to be my favorite
Great video! Enjoyed Eureka a lot and want to go back now
I’m almost done with my Eureka Weapon…. Yes in 2023. Sure it’s a PITA but I have so much fun and am currently trying to clear Baldesion Arsenal for the shape-shifting marble mount
Good video. Looking forward to more!
I have to admit I just got into FFXIV so I have no idea what this is, but I look forward to finding out. I'm having a blast trying to get up to the point to were I can grab the Dark Knight class.
“Just 7 hours”.
When you have at least 1000 hrs in an mmo 7 hours really isn't anything at all. 7 hours is not a long time especially if you view it as 1 hour every day for a week or 3 hours in one day and 4 hours in the next.
7 hours is nothing lol.
7 hours for 20+ levels is crazy fast... In FFXI, 7 hours of grinding would get you maybe one or two levels assuming you were chaining well and didn't die and lose exp at any point.
I heard "just over seven hours" (a little bit more than seven hours) 2:57
and not "just 7 hours" (emphasis on 7 hours not being very long).
@@michaelmorgan1399 Yeah FFXI isn't like that anymore. You can go 1-99 in 7 hours on any job now if you know what to do.
I just discovered the Elemental Fending set last night, and now I need it... so this is a good video for me since I need to get into Eureka for it but have absolutely 0 fucking idea of what I’m doing lol
This video was released around when I first started messing with Eureka. I finally have the ability to enter BA. lol
just recently did eureka and went from lvl 20-60 in a little under 3 days of playtime it went by so fast and got my eureka wep maiming and fending set it blew my mind
I'm barely into 3.1's MSQ and taking my time, but this looks like something I'll really enjoy doing when I'm in endgame.
Thank you SO much for this video!
This guide was very helpful. Thank you so much for this! I want to try all of Eureka lol.
Got a week off at the end of the month, I will be making a start in Eureka then. Now I know what to expect👍
If you're on Crystal, join the United Eurekan Front and Crystal Exploratory Missions discord servers
They're always running BA and you'll definitely be needing to join a BA discord if you want to get your Ozma mount
Not gonna link the discords because idk how MrHappy feels about that
I checked Eureka out for all of 5 minutes when it came out lol this has encouraged me to go back as I would love to get the Scorpion Harness (Old FFXI player here).
The real question is: Is the world boss Leaping Lizzie present in Eureka?
I've been grinding the physeos weapons for a couple months now. Only 3 left and am only gated by Hydatos crystals. It's a long grind, but you can actually level from 1-60 pretty quickly with the help of some friends.
June 2021, I don't even know these things exist. It is like another game I've never played.
what materia would you use on the Kirin armor?
Nothing changes much for Raiders who are already BiS anyways
I’m new to the game and I remember seeing all these cool glowing weapons people had and wanted to get one of them. Then I heard about Eureka, and now I’m here
Check out the anima relic weapons too. I think they're prettier and more glowy* but that's my opinion. Check a video on RUclips. It's how I decided which relics to grind since it's all about glamour for the old ones
meximous imo, ultima and bahamut are more glowy and flex,if u stand next to em with ur relic... probably cuz the tone of lighting?
Is this considering a solo player or should you still find a group? And can you do NMs solo?
What materia do you recommend?
Have you done the Ultimate weapons. I think I might tackle that next
You can work on any weapon as any class, elemental level is also tied to your character so you can change to a different class and not lose levels if you want to
So like you said, you could get your monk relic while playing as a bard :v
And yeah you’re right about choosing the class to play as is more about efficiency than what weapon you’re after. For example healers are quite helpful bc no matter what elemental level you are, a rez is still a rez. Even if you’re dealing no damage you can still bring up other people with better damage 😎
I'd like Baldesion Arsenal to be more accessible. Like I should be able to trade stuff for some eurekan fragments to make it more accessible.
Started playing near the end of 4.4 ish, never touched the zones but heard a lot of talk about it. Looking forward to the vid.
pogggg my boy is in this video hes a ff streamer @baddadastalos 12:40
Those subtitles are pretty wild
So do you need Pagos weapon to make Pyros weapon? or can you just level until you get to Pyros and make the weapon from scratch?
i completed eureka ( elemental armor +1+weapon) in 7 days, its actually very fast now
I just want to get an Anemos weapon. How long will it take me?
I had a good time in Anemos but got burned in Pagos. Simply stopped there. Even after they nerfed it and/or made it hell of a lot more accessible, I still zoned in, sighed, then left the instance. I hope I can get around to it... someday. Would really like the shiver emote lol.
Light farming is stupid easy if you chain mobs to chain 4 and kill a dragon on the 5, 10, 15, etc. chains. You can even do this in the cave to the forge for ease of access to dump your light. I did it a couple days ago to get my second weapon and it took me like 30 mins
Light Farming is the bane of my existence! I will consider getting all Relic and Anima weapons, but Eureka weapons? NO WAY!!!!
I have 2 Eureka weapons.
I was going to go for a third.....I...I don't know if I have the strength.
Finally time to farm that scorpion harness
I got it.... took 8 serket kills but I got it.
My question is, where do you find people to clear BA now in 5.3 patch? I never touched Eureka and want to clear BA by starting now before 5.35 patch. I'm on Primal datacenter.
sooo what do we do with the cryptic seal and d cloth?
At the end of Pier #1 there is a merchant where you can trade them for the Kirin's Osode and Vermillion Cloak. You can see the exact merchant at 4:40
Never have, never will, and proud of it.
Perfect. I've heard a lot about it but I have no idea what it is
I’ve been doing eureka since late March and have 7 physeos weapons left to get. Got all the +2 and Kirin/vermillion . Got all the final glams... just still running BA to get physeos elemental bonus on all the weapons cuz I’m crazy
Quesclamation point.
How do you actually complete the 1st Eureka? :\ I don't really need relic weapons, just glamours.
Yo happy is Pazuzu up?
Crab in 6 minutes, inv pls
is the game good for casual player like me, who only plays 2h/day or is it for hardcore player ?
I'm level 38 and I have some seeious problems with Pyros. Leveling there is so much pain, because the bunny fate is only fate in low level area, and it doesn't give much exp.
The biggest hurdle for me to have ANY motivation to do this content at all is that its only used for making relic weapons, and nothing else. The old relic weapons can be made by doing daily roulettes and I can use it to level up alt jobs and get some gold at the same time.
Please make part 2 !
Until then, take care 😊
I think this highlights the problem with open world and class design in FFXIV. There are very few classes that can AOE down a load of mobs without dying, and some mobs just take ages to kill.
You don't feel like a Warrior of Light when it takes you 60 seconds to kill a beetle
Does this help me level my alternate jobs at all? or is it a completely 'alternate' concept?
Completely different concept. Your XP goes to your Elemental Level exclusive to Eureka. None of it goes to your normal level.
For alt jobs, Bozja would be the zone content to look at. Mettle rank is a separate mechanic from leveling in that.
it took me 9 days to get the Orb on free trial.
the free trial limitations is not even close to being a problem.
I’m thinking about getting back into FFXIV my question is can we get some of the best gear in the game by doing eureka content ? Other then having to do raid’s to earn the best gear this game has to offer.
cant answer your question as i dont know but eureka gear looks sick as fuck , ive seen it in game and its almost made me want to do it for the glmaours
www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/ae9r9c/look_at_the_new_hydatos_armour/
I finished the whole eureka story. BA is hard .
Maximize your characters and inventory,It takes about 60 hours for one character
honestly i did it whit tank(drk) was lvl60 but i finished more weapons even whitout full element gear(to test how hard the zones are realy) u can pretty easily solo any fate in eureka on dead ini which is quite nice :'D the only thing that realy could kill me was insta dead crap. in pyros and hydatos u could use logos which made it even easier heal or bloodbath(i think its called where u heal for a potion of dmg u do) made it pretty chill and haveing a shit load of hp unlike back then makes eureka even more of joke :'D
Levelling is work, but once youre 60, you can get a fully upgraded weapon within 2-3 days
I mean is it still worth getting the Anima weapon? btw iv never done it.
Zodiak, Anima and Eureka weapons are just glams now, so it's worth it if you like how they look.
I just got the tank armor from there like last week and I'm never taking it off. Take from that what you will.
@@Chino.R3 Get it from their website, the steam version can be a bit difficult to deal with at times.
Calling it, Near forever...
I lvled 2 people in anemos in about 3 hours theres a special way to lvl up
Ok 1 to 80 or.
Still need to do this to upgrade my relic weapon
