Yes! I very much agree with this approach, balancing through gear and gear set bonuses. Example a libram for paladin that makes judgement taunt. A totem for ele shaman that gives mana back on LB crits. Etc

I think we agree just in a different approach, I just want items added for balance as opposed to big class changes. I think either option would be okay if done correctly, just hard to trust blizzard.
Can’t agree more. Paladins are the worst class in classic by far. They need changes to make them fun. I had the best possible gear from BWL and the damage my Paladin did was below my rogue alt at level 40. And after 30-60 seconds the Paladin is out of mana.
@@Ebbnflow you can’t make paladins better with gear when their base damage is low, their scaling is low, and they have no way to get mana back while doing damage.
They should add new dungeons and battlegrounds. They should implement things that make sense and that they have already tried working on. How about that portal in Darkwhisper Gorge? That looks like the perfect spot for a raid or dungeon. They could possibly turn Grim Batol into a dungeon. I would like to see a pvp event similar to Winterspring or Tol Barad. I wouldn't even be mad if they put in Achievements.
IMHO Classic+ should not focus post-naxx or that strongly around endgame instances. For me it wouls be awesome if they would make a season with much more blue and alike gear. More crafted gear then more purple-ish gear from pristine hide of the beast and alike, then more gear from Silithus or Argent Dawn trade ins and maybe add some extra such gearing options, third level of dungeon class set upgrades, upgrade paths to postmaster gear set, push for zones knowledge to get resources, mobs. I don't want yet another calendar raidlogging. Allow fun play - you log in any time, join a pug dungeon run and have fun. Then "minimal changes" don't really work. Either it's vanilla or custom vanilla. Few changes that do not change the gameplay won't please people that want vanilla nor vanilla+. And Turtle showed how you can do few talent changes to make things work better without exploding eveything. And shorter season like SoM was is a good format to run bigger changes while Era offers no changes... and SoM mass exp boost was one of attracting factors. Turtle initially was super slow leveling server and that wasn't popular, they exploded with new content.
More and worthwhile crafting, world drops, world events, wpvp incentives and even elite quests - why not add solo elite quests, or class specific challenges (rogue missions could be lit). Some more raids are probably inevitable - but not on Naxx's power level, at least not better. What about truly contested zones, that can swing to horde/alliance (Hillsbrad!)? Quite some ground for experimentation - and if Blizz won't do it, Turtle is on it, as is Project Epoch!
My complaint for hardcore is that it’s hyper focused on one aspect of wow, which is leveling, but then it removes some of the fun of vanilla leveling by making grouping very restrictive. Not my thing, but I get why people like it. As for items to add to help out them hybrids, giving shamans a totem that refunds mana on lightning bolt and chain lightning crits, similar to paladin illumination talent. Would make ele descent. I think adding spell damage to tier sets would also help. Could do something similar with shadow form, Druid idols, etc. As for the melee, could do a similar thing with their totem/Libram slots, I think enhance is bad cause it’s 2h and melee dps is a dual wield game. So as to not add anything from outside of vanilla (like tbc talents and opening that can of worms) enhance and ret will just settle for being possible but not optimal. I think if making hybrids functional dps in raid, rather than trying to make them optimal is preferred. It’s really good to see you making a video man. Your content was missed.
Yeah I've played a bit of turtlewow, just hard to go back to private server stuff, just wish everyone wasn't so split - if blizzard actually handled things correctly it wouldn't be a problem :(
@@Ebbnflow found my first bot, reported it to a GM and it was removed. The entire experience took 5 mins in total. Gdkp is banned on the server. The community is great. + content is live. The slight input lag is worth it since it has to be hosted outside of the US so blizz can never take it down. The server has at least over a 5k pop at all times. It sure beats paying for bot infested gdkp meta classic and just wishing for + lol. I am proud to return to private servers, more power and control to the players.
The only thing I like about gdkp is it motivates pugs to stay the entire time rather than bounce if their gear didn’t drop. I can’t commit to a raid schedule and it’s honestly the only way I can raid. With regular pugs people constantly leave
I have envisioned like season rewards for SOM. Kind of like the items you mentioned. Have to complete certain achievements in the prior season to unlock them for the current season.
Late to this, but been playing a lot of HC and genuinely after a few early deaths when I had a late death it completely destroyed my HC hype/motivation, especially when all my friends had already stopped playing it themselves. It'll definitely be fun to do on HC specific realms though, but I'm really curious to see the long-term health of it.
I'm happy playing Classic Vanilla forever. If we get a Classic Plus, I really only care about MINOR balance changes. Paladins and Shamans should get a taunt baseline and mana costs should be adjusted for the classes that have severe mana issues (SPriest, Ret, Elemental, Balance, etc). I don't cvare about new content - although I REALLY liked the Season of Mastery raid boss changes.

Everything You said man is exactly what I want.. "Less is more" for sure. I would not like too much changes, just some adds - items, quests, maybe a dungeon or two extra. Leveling is slow and that is why I love classic.. Leveling around, killing mobs, doing dungeons, hanging out in zones, ganking, meeting other players on the road - that is the best part about classic for me - not just hitting MAX numbers in MIN time. Just minimal changes that will spice up things. Same like fried eggs in the morning, just do them low temp on olive oil, put some origano, nutmeg, chilly pepper... It is still that same egg just has some spice to it!
give us some old races like the original ones from warcraft 3 chaos orcs nagas high elves does akama models more zones more classic battlegrounds more dungeons and change the honor system ty.

@@Suhdudeb Yes, Naxx. Classic Era servers haven't changed since the Dark Portal opened and everyone went to TBC. You had the option to clone your level 60 character. Some players did that. But there are a lot of players leveling right now in a couple of the server clusters on Classic Era.
You’ve clearly never played a Paladin in vanilla if you think class changes aren’t necessary. I would never spend that much time leveling again without changes. Level up a Paladin on a classic PvP server then come back and tell us how we don’t need Paladin changes. You keep thinking all or nothing and that’s wrong. Just because one person asks for a change doesn’t mean everyone gets the change they want. I’d never play classic without paladins being made to be fun instead of being punished all the time for picking the class developers spent the least amount of time developing. Without gear above Naxx there is little reason to return to the game especially with healing only gear for hybrid classes. The trinket “message from the grave” is pretty useless. What is a Paladin going to do with three seconds of aggro after judgment was just put on cooldown? Massive changes for racials, but nothing for making underdeveloped classes as well designed as others?

The biggest change I would make for Classic+ would be adding dwarf shaman and tauren paladin early OR adding draenei and blood elves at class start. I feel like having both shaman and paladins for classic raiding would be fun.
I would like to see 4 changes. 1. LFG. Use the group finder, that is in wrath at the moment. 2. faster leveling. I play alliance and after 40, leveling a nightmare. 3. Fix the world buff thing. Maybe get an item after you get the buff once, that can only be used in raid dungeons and the cooldown is twice as long as the buff. 4. level boosting (mages). Something that can counteract the boosting. Leave it in the game, but something to level faster for people who play it.

All they will do if you ask for classic plus is make the game more convenient. They will do stupid things just to make people happy and it will not be fun anymore. Remove flasks from the game.thats all. OH and remove AB /Av from the game would be pretty pog too. Add debuff after losing WSG to shame losers.

Yeah I agree that some alternative sets or other unique sets like the postmaster pieces would be really cool!

Vanilla+ is live and highly populated on right now on Turtlewow. I do not trust Activblizz to make new classic content.

they need to replace crap specs/builds like ret with specs and builds that actually let classes do the things they are specing for.
Build changes if they can implement them, if not at least some gear options for alt specs.

How do GDKP affect you? If you never heard about them you wouldn't even know they were happening, because they don't affect you.

Getting rid of dungeon boosts would be a great change

The people that built vanilla is no longer in blizzard. The best option to classic+ is fan-made versions like turtlewow.

almost no one would play that. Thats pretty much a pvp only server like arenatournament in the past.
