I'd have to say I see alot of myself in your videos when it comes to the hunt... I brake my back getting to spots out here in southern Ontario what ever it takes to get it done... I really love the videos due to the fact of you guys being real people like me and the rest of the viewers. I got out of duck hunting when duck dynasty came out to many people around here called themselfs hunters... I just bought another boat that come with over 300 decoys ducks and geese painted the boat wirering up lights and another fish finder... please keep them coming sir watch them every time u post... stay safe enjoy the life of the hunt... fowl play is always a good way to play name of my new boat lol enjoy
Thank you so much Chad! I love to hear that viewers are connecting to us like you stated. It's are number 1 goal. We are not just trying to put out videos here . We want to build a community of like minded individuals and possibly help mature and teach the "Duck Dynasty" crowd.
Freelance Duck Hunting you guys do a good job and I love seeing you and your dad together hunting my old man got me into hunting I found duck hunting on my own and I love it like I love my wife I'd marry it if I could the feeling of it the sight of it is enough to make me emotional about it the memories we make from it will last us a life time I love your whole team and listening to u guys talk it's like us here we do the same thing we play we goof.... I broke ice this morning took 45 minutes to get into the river just to brake ice for the boat to get out there... we got buffle heads galdwells redheads cans mallards and teals we are sitting around 22-29 Fahrenheit right now it was a good day to hunt a little snow storm... I'd love to hunt with you guys but so far lol
I can relate to your problem or the boat! I was goin across the set at about 5:00 and forgot to fill the boat with gas and ended up running out of gas in the middle of the lake so had to call the dad up to bring me some gas! Didn’t get set up until 10 minutes after shooting light but still ended up killing my 1 man limit of 5 mallards and a bonus pintail! Glad to see you guys made it out safe!
Imagine if the wind had picked up on that paddle back! Great hunt and it seems like you've really got the hang of it with the GoPro. Have to say this is probably my favorite video so far this season, there is something about a hunt that doesn't go to plan that makes the video feel extra authentic. Looking forward to some late season videos from y'all.
Thank you! Yes, I have finally mastered the GoPro. Took me long enough..lol
I really enjoy your hunts and the fellowship you guys have out in the wild. It reminds me of our little group. We don't always have success because most of our hunting is public. We just like getting out there. getting 2 or 3 birds on public land is like getting a limit on a privately managed or guided hunt. There's a feeling of success even when limits aren't had. I've considered quitting all the hard work to get to spots in exchange for a few guided hunts during the season but I know it wouldn't be the same. There's a difference between hunting and letting someone else do the hunting while you do the shooting. You boys are making memories and having adventures that wouldn't be possible if someone else was doing the hunting for you.
Impressive!! I've swimmed/slashed walked a boat out of a marsh and then had to run in reverse down a canal once. Was getting ready for teal season and broke the throttle and had it stuck in reverse while running a trail between blinds, trying to open them up enough for running during the season.
Good variety in your videos, just when we thought you had it all figured out.
A trolling motor would be a wonderful thing to invest in for the boat next boys. Good video haha
We have traditionally had our trolling motor on the boat. I don't know why it was removed. We actually own several. I guess when you have Golden Power you don't need a trolling motor.
Haha very true. I tow a jet sled on the river with my yak. Couldn't imagine what a boat felt like
great video ! My buddies would work that hard also for duck hunting
I have a 55 Black Death same thing happened to me the toggle switch went out it melted connection on toggle had to take handle apart and hold wires together I now have a spare toggle in the boat may not be the problem but that's were I would start
It seems we all find the best in misery. I've gotten to the blind and realized that I have forgotten my calls, run out of gas or had motor issues and had to paddle. Once I used just my trolling motor because I had a cracked fuel pump, realized to late and in wind that I should have charged the battery lol. We call all these miserable things good times!
Ran across your video is very cool I also have a well-built boat what size and what size mud motor are you using and are you happy with the performance
18ft weldbuilt and mud Buddy 4200. That motor has had way to many issues for me to indorse.
We've all been there. Lord knows I have.
What hull & size is your big boat?
Man when you all were in the big boat at the start of going back I was thinking boy they are in for a long long paddle in that thing and why do they not tow it with the kayaks. If you were paddling that big boat all the way you would of probably been looking at twice as much time to get back.
EDIT: I see in another comment that you replied it was a belt that went and you got it fixed. I'll leave everything below for future reference and also because it took a while to type out so don't want to nullify all that work. LOL
As far as the motor not going into gear I suspect that toggle switch has been getting moisture in it over the years and has corroded away the contacts inside. New $2 toggle switch will fix her up I think and for $6 you can get a "waterproof" one that has a rubber boot over the toggle part to keep moisture out. Surprised that motor did not have one.
Depending on which one you need,
www.amazon.com/Baomain-Toggle-Switch-waterproof-cover/dp/B01IYD8SHQ/ two wire
www.amazon.com/Baomain-Latching-Maintained-Position-waterproof/dp/B01J31IBH0/ three wire
If it is not the switch then that motor more then likely has a solenoid somewhere that engages and disengages a belt for the prop and either a wire lost contact/fell off or the solenoid went kaput.
Simple tool kit on that boat and you may well have been back up and running in about 30 minutes or less by taking that toggle switch out, disconnecting the wires and then touching them together when you wanted thrust and pulling them apart when you wanted to stop.
Had the same thing happen on our mud buddy. Switch went bad you can loop out the neutral and make it a straight drive that's what we did.
that would be nice to know how... can you tell us how to do that?
Can u make a video and decoys? What kind u have and why. And if u have a mix of species.
Can you please tell me the name of the sneak boat/kayak the golden boy was using. Im looking for one just like that for deer hunting the swamps
I don’t know, that’s actually my old boat. I got it off Craig’s list and have no idea who made it
@@FreelanceDuckHunting dang ok thanks
We sheared a pin on our outboard on the way out one hunt. Ended up with a 2 man teal limit in an hr. Cooked and enjoyed breakfast then rowed an hr and a 1/2 back.
Hunting one day we called it with 5 or 6 birds....ran across lake, good wind blowing out into open water. We just got across lake and our long tail shaft broke in the middle. Wasnt getting grease, and she welded itself and then snapped. Started rowing back and some guy saw us 5 min later and towed us back to the ramp. If it would have broke 5 min sooner we would have blown miles the wrong way down the lake. About 2 1/2 ft swells in the wind, wouldn’t have been fun.
The worst time was a friend of mine, he was hunting down on lake Hugo ok. Got out for the day, shot his limit in an hr or two. Ended up being a red flag warning during the day....got out of his sheltered cove and 4 1/2 foot waves hit him....made it back in the cove back out of the wind without sinking but did take some water in the boat. Left his boat to walk to a highway and about 5 miles around back to his truck...found a drive close enough he could load his boat back on from the bank.
The challenging days make the sweet days sweeter!!
Golden status preserved! Nice.
You better believe it! The Kid is a Golden Machine.
Lol 😂Golden Probation. I love it
Looked like u had some Canvasback decoys out there..
Red head
Are you guys at a point yet where people recognize you guys at the boat ramp or in public yet?
yes, it's happened 6 times or so. It's an odd thing.
I bet you'll get a trolling motor for a backup now
I bet your right! :)
Flat tire go hunting fix it in the daylight. Motor won’t start, walk in. Fix it later, unless you can wrap a rope a round the flywheel and pull. Motor quits on the way paddle. It’s always easier to work on things in the sunlight after the hunt. Always.
Well said Brad!
Aiden should get extra golden credit for future slips
I’m not sure my wife buys that policy.
Nice hunt
Haha all in a good days hunt!
I had the same problem, lower unit went out
What size is your boat and motor?
18ft Weldbuilt 4200 Mudbuddy
What’s the story on the lease? Not holding birds?
Not holding any birds. Seems a total loss.
Freelance Duck Hunting no way! Ugh, that really stinks. Sorry to hear that.
It's a mystery. Loaded with duck food. In an area that holds thousands and thousands of birds. Not sure what the problem is.
If it was legal that spot would be great for a permanent blind but I assume it isn't since I didn't see any others
trolling motor?
Log spinning!
The golden probie payin his dues
Oh ya!!!!
You should have gotten golden boy to paddle he needs a little exercise
Hopefully he wont get demoted to aluminum boy
lol, after this hunt he might be moved up to Platinum Boy!
Yea I was thinking along those lines throughout the video by thinking hope he does not get demoted to iron pyrite boy by the end but he performed far and above that.
Maybe you guys should get some of these www.generalmillscf.com/~/media/images/product/product-detail/snacks-and-bars/bars/cereal-and-treats-bars/42336000-treat-bars-golden-grahams-chocolate-marshmallow.ashx to stash in your bag for when golden boy performs well. 😜
Diffidentone yeah I want some treats!!
Spent all last season without a boat. Now for the rest of the season you'll probably wont have a boat again till next year. I won't take it back to the same place you did last year take it somewhere else.
I was worried about the same thing. But we discovered it was the Drive Shaft Belt. We repaired it after Saturday's hunt and it's good to go.
Guessing the clutch broke
Turned out it was the Drive Shaft Belt. We were able to repair it after Saturday's hunt.
Good not as bad as I thought
Stay away from those carbon-fiber belts.
Not sure what type we bought. But it's installed and ready to roll. We got it fixed Saturday afternoon after our hunt. Used the boat Sunday.
