My wife was pregnant when this album came out. We both constantly played it while she was pregnant and after my son was born. When he got older he said "I love this album, but I don't know why". We told him the story, he was amazed and a little freaked out.😂🤘

It's a bit similar to the story of the 1st kid of friends: they dislike german "Schlager"music. So does her daughter.
She started trampeling in her mom's belly, when they where exposed to this kinda music. When she was 1 1/2, they where at a friend, listening to it. Rosy walked over and tipped over the loudspeaker.
      Fun stories!
My granddaughter Destiny liked Gossip. She did not like Meat Loaf (Age: 4) "Nana: that is bad music! Turn it off!
      I'll sing for you!"
      Priceless!

One of SOAD’s greatest qualities is you ALWAYS want two more minutes. They really understand how to leave you wanting a little more. And yes, not enough people do the non-singles, please do the whole album. I would suggest Needles, Prison Song, Deer Dance, and Forest… also seeing you react to Pogo would be hilarious.

This album is _old._ Came out in 2001, when I was still in high school.
When I went into the military a year later, I actually got the glow-in-the-dark hoodie for this album, and within 7 or 8 years, had to finally admit I wore the hoodie straight out. I loved that thing, lol.
Edit: Bisscute, in case you don't know, "Toxicity" is about how political systems end up making societies toxic because they end up becoming apathetic to the people living in the society. And thus, those in power do everything to control and divide the masses.
If you want to know how politically active Serj Tomkin really is, listen to "Prison Song." That song has statistics related to the US prison system in it, particularly in the context of the War on Drugs.

@@BisscuteReacts the meaning behind the lyrics is far more terrifying and glorious:
      Conversion, software versión 7.0
(Today music is used to bring ideas to the people softly/to upload people with knowledge without them realizing it [instead of converting people with violence as in the past] to convert them into good people. 7 is the number of God.)
Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub.
(Like a Rolling Stone-- wandering through life without having the conviction to build upon the stable foundation of Jesús's teachings, life will have a swirling chaotic appearance.)
Eating seeds is a pass-time activity.
(The many temptations and traps set for us are meant to weed-out weaker peoples' offspring from the population.)
      The toxicity of our city.
(The evil which constantly grows among populations as random genetic mutations create disfunctional people and hedonism corrupts people in times of peace and prosperity. )
More wood for their fires, loud neighbors.
(Another metaphor for the slow-motion genocide used to guide population growth. Loud neighbors being bad people, especially those who fight with their own families. Neighbors referring to the fact that we all share this planet.)
      Flashlight reveries...
(Revering/worshipping/paying attention to an artificial light source such as fame, wealth, ideology rather than worshipping The Sun/The Son of God.)
...caught in the headlights of a truck.
(A death sentence for those distracted by flashing lights.)
You, how do you own the world?
(How is it possible to control the population in such a way as to create peace and prosperity, while also protecting the planet and colonizing space?)
      How do you own disorder?
(How can someone convert the population to follow Jesus when people are rebellious and their random genetic mutations cause them to slowly become useless without some type of selective pressure to guide their evolution?)
      Sacred Silence
(Perfect Order. Those who have acheived economic liberation and moral enlightenment become crystalized, as their desire for sex and adventure disappears, and they hide themselves away from the people as to not create jealousy nor spread their crystalization.)
      Sleep
(The darkness of the absolute chaos of nature without any conscious beings.)
Now, somewhere between the Sacred Silence and Sleep.
(Humanity today--the place between the perfect order of The Illuminated Ones and the Absolute Chaos of Nature. ☯️ The place where the action happens, sex/reproduction, adventure/discovery. The place where new forms of being are born and rise.)
      Disorder.
(The purposeful introduction of Chaos to balance out Humanities natural inclination to Order our world. The balance between Chaos and Order.)
      When I became The Sun....
(When I achieved the enlightenment and wealth which put me above humanity and made me a true source of illumination for them. When i became a Son of God/an embassador for the growth of the consciousness of The Universe through human evolution.)
...I shone life into the man's hearts.
(I illuminated/I converted softly. I showed people how to awaken their spirits so they would create technologies and families and mass movements which grow humanity's glory.)

Back in 2001... 👴... we had CD's and no RUclips or streaming on phones. So, we listened to records and each album was a full experience, not just a 3-minute song. If u listen to the album 'Toxicity' by System of a Down, 44 minutes of 14 tracks (officially) and just song after song that gets u hype! Starting w/ "Prison song" and ending w/ "Aerials" ... one song ends and u are ready for more... 😁

This is a rabbit hole you will really enjoy going down. They are masterful musicians. I would highly suggest ATWA next, but you really can't go wrong with any song on this album. Deer Dance (especially after 1:40), Prison Song, Chop Suey!, Bounce etc. Edit: didn't realize you already reacted to a couple of their songs and loved your look of disappointment when it was over, lol.
Have fun and enjoy. On that note, have you gone down the Mike Patton rabbit hole? Talk about a guy who can manipulate his voice in the best ways. Faith No More is probably his most popular band. Midlife Crisis (live on Leno) shows off his crazy vocal gymnastics.

It's just my opinion, but this song has it all. The album "Toxicity" is the best rock album (and I would almost say music album) so far in the 21st century. And the song "Toxicity" has the best drum intro ever, and it's the best SOAD song, one of the best songs in rock history, and one of the best songs in music history.

"When I became the sun I shone life into the man's hearts, When I became the sun I shone life into the man's hearts!!" Think about listening to their song called, "Lost In Hollywood".

People are not using your voting idea very well, but I liked someone else's comment asking for "B.Y.O.B." I feel like it will knock your socks off. Pin this comment! .📌

Somehow when I hear this and Chop Suey, I think of other songs that we listened to at the time that I'm 100% sure you would like a lot, if you have not already heard them. One is by a band called Incubus and the song is called Megalomaniac. The lyrics are brilliant the build is brilliant it's just a really incredible composition and it's so fun. And then I would also say Let the Bodies Hit the Floor by Drowning Pool and then also Fucking Hostile by Pantera. It would not be uncommon to hear three or four of those in a row. And I also know from a couple of my buddies that fought over in Afghanistan that they also heard those a lot when they were in country. Just something to make them not miss home so much and of course they bring lots of energy.
