Awesome review! We share the exact same opinion on the original and I also never seen any of the sequels.. almost tried the furlong sequel but then just heard some terrible things and didn’t. I was nervous about this movie after I also thought the trailers looked terrible but I do like Bill. So hearing this I’ll definitely give it a shot! Well done 👍🏻
@@Ei8HTY_SE7EN thanks so much for the kind comments Nick I appreciate it. Yeah I really love the original. It’s pretty dear to me so I was worried this one was really gonna suck, but it really wasn’t that bad. It’s just not at all like the other movies so you just have to get that entirely out of your head if you’re going to see it. If you go into it thinking you’re just seeing somebody else’s version of a similar story, it’s entertaining enough and Bill looks like an action star in it, I wish I was half as shredded as that dude lol cheers
Oh boy, again _MAD_ respect my dearest friend! But I won't lie: The original is one of my Top Ten films of _ALL_ time. I've seen all of the sequels (though only in standard definition). Honestly, I won't be seeing this one for a very, very long time. I've seen two other reviews of it on here today (such as from Cody Leach) and sorry, but with its overly long run time plus the less than stellar reviews, I just plain can't get behind it. Can't even get mildly excited to stream it next year. Basically everything after the original has been worthless in my eyes & I don't see the point in watching it. I am, however, glad that you seem to dig it a bit my good friend. Much respect. 👍 🎃
@@He_Loves_Horror brother, I totally understand. I wouldn’t say I dug it to a point where I would own a copy of this or something. It’s not that level for me, but I really thought I would dislike it a lot more than I actually did. So I was surprised that I did feel some compassion for the characters because I figured I wouldn’t buy that trailer. They way the characters meet and their development actually made them kind of likeable at least. I was pretty convinced there wouldn’t be any of that at all. It’s in no way anything like the original. It’s just so vastly different. Can’t even compare them the same way but it’s of course it’s not going to touch the original whatsoever. The original is just a beautiful masterpiece so I understand why you wouldn’t wanna go there I don’t blame you like I said I’ve never seen a sequel in all of these years. Cheers bud
Thank you and God bless ya for the generous reply my good friend. I appreciate it! But yeah man I don't know. I just plain have looked at the reviews of this one, chuckled heartedly, as well as made a joke on a live stream about it on my Goth friend Sadie Jade's channel that made her laugh (about how the film is destined for the $5.98 Walmart Super Center discount bin of eternal bad/inept films). LOL But hey, you enjoyed it and that's all that matters. Spot on post indeed as the 1994 original is still a wonderfully atmospheric, Gothic masterpiece filled with a haunting final performance and a great atmosphere. 👍🎃
@@He_Loves_Horror enjoyed it? Lol well, I definitely didn’t hate it but it certainly not a movie I would be purchasing or anything. So enjoyed? Kinda. But most of the movies that I really enjoy, I would purchase. This one I wouldn’t even consider purchasing, but I did think it was a lot better than it was going to be and I think most people are seriously overreacting because it just doesn’t feel like a remake at all to me. I get why people are upset, though. I don’t need to explain that I’ve never seen a crow sequel because I have a very deep attachment to the original film and Brandon Lee’s performance, I’m very protective of. So to me, it just felt like a completely different movie I’ve never seen before, that had a teeny bit of similarity with the original, but it was 99% a totally different movie that isn’t my cup of tea, but it’s not the horrible thing that I feel like everybody’s making it out to be is all. So enjoyed it? Kind of I guess, but I certainly didn’t hate it.
