    It's brilliant to see two young farmers with such passion, and love for what they do.
    We really bought into an awful lot of EEC bullshit back in the nineteen seventies, but its great to see a couple of young fellas getting back to a sustainable, and traditional way of farming.

      And you were spot on about Clive's compost chief! Cuckoo Cottage has been built with it! He has been a God send and would not of got this place up and running without him!       Well Philip thank you 👌 we are delighted with him. He's massive however the calves are always small at birth. Never any surprises which is ideal. Very excited about it

You should take a listen to Dr. Jim McAdam’s talks on his work with agroforestry. Lots of benefits according to him with extended grazing season, no loss in DLWG performance

      Well Joel would you believe he literally walked up as soon as my daughter stopped filming 😄 out from that we were delighted how it turned out.

    Very nice bull. Didn't expect such a short coat on a Galloway. On the other hand I have never seen a Galloway in real life. Lots of other breeds but I do not think there are any breeders of Galloway in South-Africa.

      Hi ric yes I'm curious about that too. I never realised they slicked of so well. He's extremely trivey so he coats fast. I think the younger the slower

      Hi there thank you. Clive was told around 900kgs.. He's a brave bull surely.
      I was surprised how slick he was too.. Hair in winter and slick in summer mighty job

    You 2 guys Looking under the tarp, handful of worms and worm castings ( vermiculture) its the best way to nuture soils,,,, I was once in bulk vermicast business, it works wonders in soils. But Sean, if you can get hold of a grubber plow from one of the neiggbours, you should try a paddock in this dry spell we are having, it works well too

    nice Sean, only thing missing was the pints and a traditional irish band. It was difficult to hear everything, what did he say at 37, 30 mins about tannins and cattle eating willow please , anyone ?

      Sorry Adam. We were on about dosing for worms. Willows are high in a natural chemical tannin which is a natural boost/dewormer for wormy cattle. We realised that the one wormy animal he had was not great for eating the willow

      If you still want to deworm the natural way grow your own 🎃 s
      and start seasoning old grow white thorn and make it in to charcoal grind it up to dust best deworners dust their silage

    Sean how many Acres/Hectares per Large Stock Unit in your area ?

      Well ric it varies a lot but on average a cow and calf to 2 acres

      @@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 That is impressive !!! Here by us it ranges from 4 acres in the East to 72 acres in the Western parts. That is why some farms need to be about 20 000+ acres just to make a living for one family.

      Well John. It's my opinion that if farming is taking up all one's time then there is something seriously wrong with there operation.
      A full time life style however is a different thing.

      Galloways can be black red dunn or white.... Both with a belt and without! There is also another variant called a Rigit Galloway

      @@clivebright he’s a good looking bull, we ran black Galloways on hard cold high tussock country in NZ, but their progeny was always discounted at sales, because the butchers didn’t want them, they said the housewife didn’t like the yellow fat on them

      @@clivebright You have a grand bull. Will you go for the same again or another breed? Have you looked at the Luing breed by any chance? It's time Teagasc was evaluating these breeds for grass fed regen scenarios and environmental issues versus the Euro meal monsters. They have the resources to answer a lot of questions. Also well done on the deciduous trees front.
