    Good stuff bro! Couple things. You will need a Neutral Density filter to bring your exposure down in bright sunlight. Especially if you are sticking to the double shutter speed "rule", which brings me to the next thing. You can break the double shutter speed rule. If you want your subject to be extra smooth, extra buttery, extra unrealistic, feel free to bring your shutter higher than double your frame rate. I do it with basketball with 60 fps and 200 shutter speed just because these basketball players are often moving really fast and throwing the ball around really fast. If you want to slow your footage down and get a really close up shot of the ball flying through the air, the ball will be blurry at only double the frame rate

    • @GameUnkasa
      @GameUnkasa Год назад +3

      I was just about to type this, the 180 rule is more for film while with sports (well for basketball) you wanna crank that shutter.. Everything else was perfectly illustrated.

    Very good advice. I work for a TV station in Philly and I shoot Eagles games but I’m using my ENG camera. I do however shoot my son’s football games with my Sony A7iii. I would add a couple more suggestions. Don’t nobody look at me sideways on this one 🤣 You can go get a pack of Depends that look like boxer shorts. If you think you are gonna need to use the bathroom during a game make sure to put on some depends before you hit the field. You can take a leak right in your shorts or pants and nobody will even know lol! No pee stains on your pants will show through. I laughed when someone told me to do it but it makes sense. The other tip along with hand warmers in the cold months is get some battery operated heated gloves. I have some and depending on the setting will last 2-6 hours. The ones I have can be charged with a portable power bank too. The hand warmers are cool but those heated gloves are even better.

    So the R6 shoots in 1080p 120 and 4k60, isn’t it more worth to shoot 4k60 so i can crop vertically for reels and whatnot while also being able to edit in full 4k horizontally?

    • @DTVprods.
      @DTVprods.  Год назад +2

      Shoot 1080p 120. You'd rather have more frames when it comes to shooting sprots. Also, when posting to IG, 4K gets chopped anyway.

    With football videos, BREAK the shutter rule! S Log 3 at 60fps or 120fps and shutter at 1/400 and apature of f/4. Definitely invest in a 70-200 or in my case the Tamron 75-180mm. With most other video work I do stick to the shutter rule (double the frame rate), but, with football it looks even better when you break the rules. Just my opinion.

    • @DTVprods.
      @DTVprods.  Год назад

      I definitely agree that depending on editing style or what you’ll be using the video for, breaking the shutter rule is ok. But for beginners learning, they should definitely stick to the basics and work their way from there.

    Great video all around and nice work. My question is, if your filming 120p at 4k, what is your usual game-long file size? Im assuming you need close to 300gb, maybe more.

    • @DTVprods.

    I disagree on keeping things at 180 degree shutter rule. Overcranking is a common practice in sports videography. This helps get super crisp/almost jittery footage, which when you slow it down keeps the frames crisp. Play with it, I really like what overcranking looks like.

    • @DTVprods.
      @DTVprods.  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I definitely agree. I teach the general rule as a starting guide. Everything in this field is all about it creativity. I even know some creators who shoot sports in 24fps for certain unique shots.
