My great grandmother was not wealthy by any means, but her Bible and collection of cast iron skillets were the most cherished when she passed. There was a line of children, grand children and great grandchildren who asked to have the Bible she used and wrote in every day. I see Faith's bible being like that for her family.
Yes, however your personal notes may not make as much sense to others around you just because they make sense to you.
I love this! I just spoke at a womens' Bible conference/ retreat last week. I was tempted to not bring my giant interleaved Bible either but I knew I would regret not having it. I'm so glad I brought it! ❤️ My cabin mates had so many questions about the Bible that I was able to answer from my Bible notes. My favorite time was studying in the woods by the lake too!
I've been slacking with my bible study but you really do inspire me to pick up my bible and prayer journal. I have the BSBC or theology bootcamp and watch it after or while I study just in case I catch something I haven't before or as I'm reading. Thank you for all you do ❤

I have a big heavy study Bible but with my health issues I only use it at home. I have a small large print one that I take to church and travel with. I write and highlight in that one too. If I was 100% strong/ healthy I would def take my big one too

When I first stumbled upon your channel I really dug into watching your early bible studies and only taking notes that you wrote down because I lacked confidence in my Bible knowledge. It's been like 6 or 7 months since then and I have learned so much just reading the Bible myself and taking notes on what scripture says about scripture. I am more comfortable with Bible study resources and can jot down notes without worrying if I'm doing it correctly. You've honestly changed my life in regards to how I read and study my Bible and I can't thank you enough. Thank you for allowing God to use you in such a powerful way.

I love that you were able to travel with your resources. I have a bad lower back so I tend to travel with lighter resources and access commentaries on my computer. But if I'm going to a more remote place, I will consider taking the physical copies. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this real video about reading your Bible. It can be hard to bring a heavy bible on trips but I always do. I just bring watercolors and a pen. That’s much easier to carry. Recently I painted Solomon’s temple. It helps me visualize scripture. ❤I love Bible art journaling!

Wow such a great video!! I'm on a working holiday in New Zealand (away from home for 8 months already, about 8 to go), and I have to confess - I didn't take my physical Bible or any of my Bible commentaries, it just would be unrealistic for me, buuut I'm using my Ipad to read and studyy the Bible every day with Enduring Word commentary. I know it's not the same as reading a physical Bible, but I'm a small girl, I really can't travel for 1+ year with big books in my backpack 🥲

Just curious if you have ever thought of taking your 3 extra books as e-books when you travel? I understand taking your Bible. I’m not sure I understand why you would pack hard copies of the other 3.
I thought the same, but then I remembered how ridiculously expensive commentaries can be. Still: though they might not be the best, while traveling I would've leaned heavily on some free e-commentaries.
@@MM-jf1me I have e-books of some commentary bibles and dictionaries, which are the same as the hard copies but in electronic version. I travel frequently for work and these are SUCH a weight saver. Essential for me with all the luggage charges. I also access the online sites.
I have not, however, tried any of the actual commentaries. I hope someone responds who has tried them.
Logos is pastor and scholar level software for Protestants, for Catholics it’s called Verbum. It’s not that expensive to get the free software - the shell - and then add on whatever books you need to.
My recommendation is to at least get the Bible dictionary in e-book format. It’s one less book to take with you. A lot of really good Bible commentaries are available in e-book format as well. It just lightens the load.

Travelling might be a bit easier with your Bible but digital commentaries/dictionaries. Maybe Logos, blue letter Bible or Bible hub?
Hubs and I went out of town for 3 days, took my Bible with me and even did 3 hours of reading on the train.. It was a good time in the Word but I may have given myself motion sickness whilst reading on the train 😓

I've been pulled from the pits of Hell by Jesus 3x. I've tried on so many occasions to attend church after being shunned and refused baptism as a child. In 2011...while reciting my 3rd step prayer, on a beautiful sunny beach in Florida, a bolt of lightning came from the clear blue sky and struck the beach. I was healed of my opiate addiction. I want to attend seminary. How do I find the best online program?
Also I need to be baptized. The catholic church my family belonged to for 145 years refused because my mom divorced my abusive father. I have never doubted my belief in God. I have gone to church only 5 times in my life...as soon as I walk in the door I cry ugly tears. Why am I like this 😂

So I gotta ask -- how do you feel about Logos and digital bible study in general? I don't think even you could exceed the capacity for notes, artwork, anchors and whatever else in there. Plus, being linked to so many assistive resources is really enlightening.
I have a small budget and noticed the resources were a bit pricey on Amazon. Are there any resources on line for used books like these that you like? We don't have a Bible book store in my town. Thanks for the video!🌷
I got the Bible knowledge commentaries used! I recommend doing that for sure! You can get them really cheaply usually! Also, I have seen some used bible dictionaries at thrift stores!!!

I’m trying to in-depth Bible Stidy John right now. I began with your video series and am now further ahead. So do you have a reading plan outside of your in-depth study? Because I’ll probably never get through the Bible if the in-depth, pericope to pericope, study is all I do. Just trying to feel out others’ rhythm that are doing the in-depth.

I have only recently started taping in notes with regular Scotch tape, and they are coming out...😖 I need a product that will stand-up to me repeatedly opening and closing the papers. Thanks!
That is how i take sermon notes but I do it in a notebook. Could you do a video where you listen to a recorded sermon (john piper has free ones out there) and kind of sermon journal with us? Obviously dont include the whole sermon in your video, that could be long and maybe unnecessary but a video like that could better exemplify how you bible journal during sermons and what you write down.....i swear there are some Sunday's where i dont end up jotting down hardly anything cuz i don't know what to jot down.

I’ve been intentionally doing Bible Study when on a trip. There should not be any interruption to your regular study and devotion to study, no matter where a person is. I depend on electronic Bible resources on the Bible apps on one of my smart devices. That way I don’t need to take all the actual books with me.
Do you or your husband have the Logos software?
We do not actually, but we are very familiar!!

Remember that Jesus regularly told people that he was going out to be alone so that he could spend time with his father. Telling someone you need to Bible study before having coffee should not be problematic for others.
