Bees are stupid but I'm more stupider

Hard lessons learned this week. First I lost the other hive to robbing. Today, I made the mistake of inspecting when I was exhausted...no sleep, too much drinking the night before, and a 5 hour ride in the legs the day before. The bees were angry and so was I. The queen has moved most of her brood work into the super. That looked fine except the wonky comb between the feeder and super. The uncapped brood in the wonky comb had several mites to definitely time (probably past) to treat. The deep is still crap with a bunch of wonky comb. The only good thing about loosing the other hive is I can use some of those frames to replace the frames with wonky comb next time. Neither the bees nor I had the patience for that this time. I put in the Apiguard and installed SHB traps and sheets. They were not happy with me. I got stung thru the shirt on the elbow and stomach. Then one got in my veil and stung me on the ear. I even had one following me all around the yard after the inspection. I had to go inside the house but she followed me there...I would say I hated to kill her but at that point, I didn't hate it at all. Most days I love the bees...today was not one of those days. Don't inspect tired.
