@Charles Schroeder black people work twice as hard in this country. Just to buy a house we have to go through hoops. Even if our credit is perfect. Even if we've been on a job for 20 years. So please save it with us being lazy and want everything for free. Please that's a real demonstration of your ignorance and bigotry. We just want everything Fair and to have equal rights. African Americans just want a end to this police brutality. Tell me how BLM peaceful protest can turn into a war zone. FutureIndieProductions The phrase is more finger-pointy than I’m going for, but yes. Frankly, what else would be the cause? If it’s more complicated for you to vote or get registered, then you’re less likely to do it. It may be about feeling like one doesn’t have a voice in society to begin with.
Minorities are more likely to be in circumstances like poverty that can obstruct voting. Not everyone gets election day off. People can often vote early, but you can’t expect that from people. And the point is that that inequality of opportunity is unfair.
And if you’re living paycheck to paycheck and have no ID, that ID’s cost could be several meals. And what if you lose it? Getting another one costs a poor person more - they miss dollars other people would forget about. A surprising amount of people are that dirt poor here.

Kferler “There are three types of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.” -Mark Twain
One thing I hate about not only the media but also scientific research journals, journalist based works, and just weird graphs like that is that it never shows how they came to that conclusion. One reason why it may take longer for some minorities to vote maybe the time of day different types of people go to vote. Voting booths actually take much longer as the day progresses vs. going during the morning. Another thing to note is also the safety of the voting area itself not only for the people conducting the voting pallet process but also the voters themselves. This maybe why there may not be as many voting booths in high crime area vs a low crime area. We should also look at how many people who are forced to work on Election Day.
To me one big solution for most of these problems would be to make the National Election a Federal Holiday where most non-essential businesses have to close down or be forced to allow their employees to vote (which is already a federal law you can’t not allow your employees to vote in an election and fire them for it). I also think they should count the votes around midnight and call the election the day after the election because most Americans don’t realize that our election process was made before high speed voter scanner machines, the internet, highways, and etc... it’s why the president doesn’t get into office until January, because it would take months of reviewing votes to count an election.

  • @kelseystrouse954

The long line theory just doesn't fly. If you live in a small town versus a larger city, regardless of anyones skin color, lines will be different. That in no way means all big cities experience voter suppression. Secondly, when areas show voting locations closed, it's commonly because a voting site had little turn out or was not proficiently servicing voters and a decision was made that the resources could be better served to accommodate more people at another busier voting site. It doesn't mean that fewer voter's will be serviced but likely more, just at another location. While each state decides the cost of their IDs, any individual can go to their local DMV and get a valid ID. Most state's have minimal one time fee's. Many people that don't have a license, still need an ID for many things other than voting. While I would be on board with any state providing free IDENTIFICATION, especially for those under a certain income, I don't see the minimal cost of IDs being an issue. A mass majority of those on government assistance for food and living expenses still manage a monthly cell phone service. People could advocate for their states to consider including a Fee Waiver Certificate to those that qualified for government assistance but either way, a one time minimal fee doesn't qualify as voter suppression. If someone wanted to advocate for voters rights, they could pursue businesses allowing employees extra time off or even early closing hours on voting days to assure every individual has the ability to go exercise their right to vote. I think the absolute biggest attack on our voting rights is having a media that acts as spokespersons for one political party. They should be stating all facts and perspectives from all parties so as to thoroughly inform the public and allow them to decide with whom they agree and vote accordingly. That is afterall why the media was created. You no longer have a democracy when voters are told what to think and are never even informed about other information that could effect their voting. That should be the voting issue every person in America should be screaming about!

An ID of some kind is needed to Cash a Check, and to Buy Booz. If you go to the hospital, even if you are on Welfare and use the government health insurance, you must present an ID to prove who you are. If you drive a car or motorcycle you have a Driver's License. So why is it discriminating to ask for an ID when voting? Are these people saying that Black and Hispanics are not smart enough to go and get an ID card? Without any kind of Photo ID, a person could go to any number of polling places and vote as many times as they want. This is called voter fraud. This is pure unadulterated BS, dreamed up by the democrats/leftists/Liberals/Socialists to continue the Racist line that they keep trying to push down the throats of the American People.

  • @shawnheidingsfelder8179

Voting lines are only long if everyone tries to go at the same time. The polls are open 12 hours at least. Know who your voting for before you get there, have your ID or voter card ready, and find a way to go at a non-premium time if voting means that much to you. These machines aren't complicated.

Then they scanned my finger at the gate to get into the park to make sure I wasn’t someone else trying to use my ticket. I woke up early to make it in line by 7:30 am. Despite my early arrival the line wound through the park over 1/2 a mile. I waited over three hours to get on the ride that lasted a few minutes. It was worth it! Disney tried really hard to suppress my entertainment rights but I was victorious! However, waiting in line more than 30 minutes to choose the next leader of the free world. Forget it! There is no proof of causation in this video. Nor does it state how many of the closed polling stations are in minority areas only X per were closed and “many” were in minority areas. “Many” could mean 1. 45% longer wait times? 45% of an expected 30 minutes would put the wait time at 43 minutes. I hope the extra 13 minutes would not discourage anyone from casting a vote that may determine their future.
