As the 2020 US Presidential election unfolded, various US media outlets projected the winner of each state, tallying up the Electoral College votes as they went along. The pathway to securing 270 Electoral College votes to win the presidency took many dramatic turns in an election that remains contentious.

Legend has it, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alaska are still counting to this day.
at Egg Roll - they were still counting from November 10 to November 17 or November 18,
in the early morning hours of November 18 ,2020 the election popular vote counting ended. all states were called, the result was Biden 306 to Trump 232
On December 14 2020 the electoral collage vote came..i was not sure if there would be Faithless voting or what..but there were no faithless voters so Biden won 306 to Trump 232. On January 20, 2021 Biden-Harris administration took office.

i remember when it was 253 Biden...if Biden gets NV 6 and AZ 11 he will have 270 to win every thing else is just gravy...all of a sudden it was 270 plus PA 20 now 290 then came GA 16 now 306...but i remember when it was November 10 Biden 253 if he just gets Nevada and Arizona hes got 270 and the other guy gets 268, but in real life Trump only got 232...i watched the whole election..
Here in Georgia the trump supporters where complaining that Biden cheated SO THEY HAD TO COUNT AGAIN THEN THEY DID IT AGAIN AND AGAIN and the news station was like yeah no Biden didn’t cheat idiots

The thing is, Biden won the election fair and square. Per election laws. Meanwhile, Trump tried to overturn the election results to hold onto power. I’m still not used to Georgia being blue (not that I’m complaining). I don’t think Florida is necessarily out of reach for Democrats, they just need to get rid of the ”socialist” label among Cubans and Venezuelans in Miami. It takes effort, but I think it’s possible. Iowa and Ohio are basically lost causes though.
In my opinion North Carolina is going blue in 2024, most likely Texas in the distant future of maybe 2032

It's amazing how Trump says the Associated Press cannot call elections yet he didn't have a problem with the Associated Press calling it for him in 2016. I guess it's all right for them to call it for him but not for anybody else. If he would have won in 2020 he wouldn't have had no problem with the Associated Press calling the election.

Different networks call their elections at different times. For example Fox news called Arizona for Biden on election day and the rest called it 2 to 3 days later. This is based on the time AP call theirs not other news organizations.

I’m a union construction worker, registered Dem for 30 years. As much as it goes against my personal views, there’s zero doubt that this election was stolen. I thought it was a little fishy that Biden won even though I wanted him to win. But after watching 2000 Mules, the evidence is irrefutable. Regardless of our party affiliation, we have to ensure that our elections are legitimate.

Why is electoral college needed anyway? Why can't the US just count actual votes? Isn't that what voting is actually about?
Because those are the terms in which the US was founded. That they would be given dispensation and a platform so they wouldn't just be bullied by the larger, more populous colonies out of the decision-making of their collective nation. If the Electoral College was not founded, the smaller colonies would have never agreed to throw in their lot with the likes of Massachusetts, New York and the like. The United States would have never been formed. To take away the Electoral College is to take away an arranged agreement between all the parties involved. You can say what you want, but those are the principles in which the nation was formed, and to take it away would be to render what forms the United States null and void. As long as the College stands, so does the agreement.
As CGP Grey once said, the only way to vote back then was to write your candidate of choice down, hand it to a horseback rider, and wish him Godspeed as he makes the long journey to DC. Then, the states would have accurate counters of votes based on the population.

From UK but was keeping a very close eye. When Florida went Trump's way I thought that was as sign of things to come. It was only after Wisconsin and Michigan were called that I realised that Biden had definitely turned the tide.

-The major lead Trump had in multiple states, then they claim they stop counting but at the same time biden gained just barely enough votes to surpass Trump in several states.
-The fact that Trump won most bellwether counties, and the way that bellwether counties work is that typically whoever the county votes for, it's the same candidate who ultimately wins the election.
-Besides the 1960 election, in recent past elections the geological trend was that if a candidate won the state of Florida, Ohio, and Iowa all at once, it's virtually a guarantee that that candidate would win the election. Trump won all 3 by an extensive amount.
-In 2012, Barack Obama lost 4 million votes for his re-election and lost 2 states. Now in 2020, Donald Trump gained over 11 million votes, and apparently lost 5 states?
-Typically when the economy does well, the president gets re-elected. The economy was performing wonderfully, even in the middle of a pandemic. Experts were certain that Trump would win after seeing the major lead he had in several states.
-Looking at the graphs in a couple states. I find it very suspicious how biden managed to gain hundreds of thousands of votes in some states, while Trump only gained a couple thousand. Then it got to the point when biden just passed Trump, and immediately his voting graph leveled off. Then when the Trump votes would increase again, the biden votes would increased exactly when Trump's did. Both the votes stopped increasing at the same time, and started at the same time.

Reagan gained 10 million votes for his second term and gained 36 electoral votes. Nixon gained 16 million votes his second term, and gained 219 electoral votes. Trump gained over 12 million votes his second term, and lost 74 electoral votes?
-Biden campaigned significantly worse than Hillary in multiple key cities, yet still managed to gain many more votes than she did.
-This point may not be sufficient evidence, but I just wanted to point it out. Though it was in the middle of a pandemic, Trump had tens of thousands of more people show up to his rallies and events than biden ever had. I just cannot fathom that a candidate with only 5 people at his rallies managed to win the most votes in presidential history.
-Trump leading PA by 700,000 votes with 70% reporting in at 3 a.m. A couple days later, the state was called for biden with Trump just barely losing the state. It is statistically impossible that biden gained enough votes to pass Trump in the state, while Trump gained barely any.
-In the 2012 election, obama lost 4 million votes compared to what he got in 2008 and he still won by a lot. In the 2020 election, Trump gained 11 million votes compared to what he got in 2016, and they're saying he lost by a lot, despite the fact that he even got more votes than obama.
-Trump obtained the largest vote number for Latinos, Hispanics, etc., and still somehow lost the electon?
-Trump won Florida, Ohio, and Iowa by A LOT, and no presidential candidate in recent history has lost an election after winning those 3 states, especially if they won it by a lot.

This election was an emotional rollercoaster for me. On the night of the election I really, really thought Trump was gonna get re-elected. I was so nervous when Texas, Florida and Ohio were called for Trump. Not only that, but he was also leading substantially in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. I went to bed that night having lost all hope. I felt so sad and defeated, almost tearing up. Trump was really going to be president for another 4 excruciatingly long years. I woke up the next morning to a very pleasant surprise. Arizona had been called for Biden, and he was also now leading in Wisconsin and Michigan. After everything that happened last night, I almost couldn’t believe it. Things were actually starting to look up and my hopefulness had returned. Later that day when Wisconsin and Michigan were called for Biden, I was beyond excited. The next 3 days until Pennsylvania went blue and the election was called for Biden were the longest 3 days of my life, but when it finally happened, to say I was overjoyed would be a gross understatement. The moment that Pennsylvania was called for Biden was one of the happiest moments of my entire life. If this was a dream, I didn't want to wake up. This fascist regime was finally over.
We need a far more progressive candidate in 2028, but until then, we need to do everything we can to give President Biden another 4 years in the White House. Biden 2024 💙
