As someone who had his share of turmoil and tragedy, I think God, in a way, had to instill suffering into life so that life begets meaning and stories, if there was no suffering, it would be devoid of stories, or meaning.... It is like in laboratory when you try to breed a strong strain of seeds, or bacteria, you apply stress of salinity, radiation, or toxicity, ir deprive it from oxygen, or nutrients, or water; thousands of seeds and bacteria die off, but what survives is not only strong, but in a way, by surviving, pays homage to the fallen..... God killed billions by wars, famines, climate change, asteroids, volcanoes, floods, plagues and what have you, so that the remaining ones would have stories on tragedy and loss and derive meaning from our strife. Suffering was the necessary evil for creation to have meaning and energy and move forward, other than that, life would be a static rerun of a sitcom so boring thay you would rather switch off the tv.

Can you make a video about the book of Job? The idea that God kills the entire Jobs family just to prove to satan, that Job is genuinely pius man is for me hard to understand.
I’d recommend checking out this video by BibleProject. It won’t answer all your questions or alleviate all the tension, but I hope it will help a bit! ruclips.net/video/GswSg2ohqmA/видео.html
I've always seen that as an active attempt by people to retain a belief that some Great Force For Good (GFFG) looks out for them despite what reality often shows. Plus ancient peoples faced WAY more natural disasters than we did. & while 'blaming God' seems less primitive than blaming the God of the Volcano who wants a virgin sacrifice, possibly only because we have the Written Attempts to deal with the problem, is it really? Written stories are easy to look at passively because we listen to them in a passive state. We want them to calm us & help the world make more sense. But that may not be the spirit they were _written_ in.
@@TravisD.Barrett I'm sure you've heard it before. When you really think about it, the closest thing to an actual god in our world is the Sun. It gave us life. People have worshipped it forever.
