Hello! New subbie here. I’ve always wanted to attempt the Make 9. I love how you’ve chosen things to challenge yourself and try different things. That’s what my list would be too! I’m enjoying your channel 😊 I also grow my own food and will definitely subscribe to your hubby’s channel!
Thanks for subbing! I really didn't want to try and mail down specific patterns and I did think about choosing sewing techniques, but they're so many creative outlets I want to try. I think you could even add some gardening to your make nine. It's really for any DIY, maybe a new vegetable or variety to try.
Holy Cow, girl! Other people’s goals are a pair of any style pants. Your goals are making your own shoes, luggage, and underwear! Also you want to learn new entire areas like embroidery and knitting! I embroidered a terrific tiger on a Jean jacket for my husband in about a week and a half during all breaks and lunch at work. It was really portable. I also changed the decor in my sewing room and make new serger, sewing, and ironing board covers and that took about a day, or about the effort to make one video.
I didn't see your spouse's gardening channel linked in the description box, just a reminder in case that was in error. Fantastic goals! I'm looking forward to seeing you achieve these.
For knitting, just go for it! Learn a cast on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, & a cast off. English style is easiest to start with, but there are more RUclips videos on Continental style because it is a faster mehod. Don't worry about left handed knitting unless you are left handed. Start with straight needles in the 8 to 11 size range - big enough to see your stitches, not so big that the needles are harder to grip correctly. Don't worry about needle material yet. Use light colored yarn so you can see your stitches. Start with size 4 yarn, also called worsted weight yarn. I like to watch @NimbleNeedles Norman goes slowly so you can see what he's doing. Good explanations of the process. Great lighting & camera work. He knits Continental style, though. Good luck with your knitting!
Thank you! I actually think I want to try continental as I'm a sucker for efficiency so I'll check his videos. I have a few pairs of needles and random skeins of yarn. Casting on seems difficult, but I'm sure there's plenty of videos. I just need to try!
Yes Tiff! I'm loving the fact you are testing other aspects of sewing and creativity. I like the way you did your board. I love skating and just got back into it last year. Once the weather breaks I'll be back in my skates
@@TipStitched I'm with you. I know I can do more but I want to make things I need instead of want. I have to make things I would get a lot of wear out of. You can do it. Just pace yourself. One task at a time. 👊🏾
Looking forward to see these come to life Tiffany. I have the Mag Bag on my make nine board too! I’ve made the Sam apron once before. It’s a lovely and quick sew😊
for learning to knit I love Nimble Needles youtube channel, he really explains everything and breaks it down so you can hit the ground running instead of looking at 10 different places trying to figure things out.
lol, I’m glad I’m not the only person who buys the stuff to try something new….. and then puts it off. I’ve got the kit to do watercolour painting, but it is all still wrapped up.

I’m with you on some of your list. By the way, I thought the bag was cute.
Thank you!

What can I say? I set lofty goals. LOL We'll see how much I get too. A tiger embellished jean jacket sound amazing!

I think I can make anything more apparently. 😂 Hopefully I'll get to it all!

Oh that's good about the Sam Apron! I really like the Mag Bag, enough to try again to perfect it.
Roller skating was one of my pandemic obsessions, too!
It's a great one! I miss all the sharing I did in 2020/2021.I'm going to try to make some time for it this year

You are not alone! Eventually we'll get to all of them!
I’m a young creator and this helps my productivity
Awesome!
Hi Tiffany! Do you know what AccuQuilt die was used for the appliqué?
It's not for sale @blackwomenstitch had it custom made for her.
