Maybe it's just mandela effect but I have a very strong memory of the shared shotguns having different reload animations. Like heavy holds it a higher angle and pushes the shell with his thumb and engineer palms the shell holding the gun pretty low.

that's actually a really good idea for a weapon downside "reloading obscures your vision" just do something about weapon viewmodel settings and it's perfect

At some point I like to believe the scatter gun and it variant have 2 internal magazine, one is for the main shooting while the second is for extra ammo without having to reload the gun physically again since you already have extra ammo in the gun.

the animation work is not bad whatsoever its just not exaggerated. its done by the same people who make the third person animations so its not super crazy. its a step up from half life 2 by A LOT. if the sounds were more satisfying id be happier
I thought it was going to cycle through the weapons like every "repetitive action" Take scatterguns as an example, every pull of the lever, the gun changes, or the rockets, every load into the launcher is a launcher changed, or the shotgun, every shell loaded is a shotgun changed. Though that's for one a ton of effort and those that are the black sheep for that slot for that class will force you to mash weapons by type rather than class and the pistols that just straight up loads a mag.
