My small family of 4 traveled across the TJ border to get fish tacos in Ensenada, it was during lockdowns. I swore I'd never return. You both are making me second guess my decisions with those yummy seafood tostadas! Oh my gosh!!
You guys nailed this video, great job. I have been to Ensenada 100s of times and I think you have showed all the major places. As far as Ensenadas claim to the Margaritas goes it has been debunked but Ensenada refuses to give up their claim. Several bars in Cuidad Juarez were advertising the Margarita before Ensenada even claims to have invented it. There is dispute in Cuidad Juarez but I believe the Kentucky Club invented the margarita in 1938. As far as the fried fish taco goes, Ensenada did invent that one. The first story about the fish taco in San Felipe is in 1974,but Ensenada has articles about the fish taco going back to the 1950s, they were probably serving it even before that.
Here in Ensenada they claim Margaritas started here at the Bar Andaluz, inside the Social, Civic and Cultural Center, Riviera de Ensenada; this is served with the wide glass... and at Hussongs, they claim it started there, served in a tall glass. Check it out and see which one taste better. ...I'll have beer...🍺
@@pedrozatravel BTW: Sabina has a sit down restaurant so you do not have to stand to eat your ceviche - walk across the street same side its two dogs over and its a sunken area with tables and chairs. Same food, And, at Tacos Fenix go one block after the taco stand and you can sit down and eat. More comfortable. Fireworks are not illegal ...due to so many fires. .
Nothing could be better than spending the first morning of 2023 with my favourite travellers.Happy New Year and thanks for adding Ensenada to list of must sees. Cheers.
This is another very beautiful mexican city! that also happens to be very close to the USA border! which is also really great since it's so beautiful and yet at the same time it's so close to the USA! therefore it's no wonder that this great visit also reminded me about the song called: "In Ensenada" from the great american singer: "Neil Diamond"! which probably came to his mind and to his inspiration while visiting that great place trying to rest some time there with his beautiful wife in that very beautiful place! which also happened to be not too far from his California home! Therefore "In Ensenada" it's also a very beautiful song that came out on his 1982 album called: "Heartlight" since it was the sixth song on that album! in which he started singing that song like this: "In Ensenada we were running from the things that we knew best, we only took the good and left the rest in Ensenada" which probably was also something that also happened to you both in Ensenada! while visiting that very beautiful place casually now just at the end of the last year! and what a beautiful place to start the New Year!
I appreciate the tour of the Baja. We’ve been living in the desert of AZ for 15 years and are eager for lush green foliage and the ocean. We have a friend building a house in Loreto so that was fun to see. Thank you guys! We’re just waiting for our house to sell so we can make Mexico our home!
it's good to see how you always show a positive side of mexico with great cultural sensitivity and respect , that good all american charm and enthusiasm is what keep us watching your videos, thanks for sharing your experiences and may 2023 bring you happinness and/or all the causes for it.
Wow Ensanada looks amazing. Oh that street seafood! Karaoke Bars?! I'm there! Margarita wars!!! I love dive bars. What is with Adam and historical jails? Adam are you gonna be the Mexican Breaking Bad? I love the maritime culture here. Oh tacos, something I miss now that I've left Mexico. So much culture to this town. Love it all. Well done guys.
Happy New Year! I went on a bus tirp in 1988,from Tijuana to la Paz, yet we didn't stop in Ensenada ,and I don't know why ,and I'm sorry I missed out an the fish tacos and Margaritas. when I lived in San diego,I did discover a fast food restaurant Rubios. All they served was fried fish or shrimp tacos. The were good and inexpensive. Looks like you had a wonderful time!
10:31 si no le gusta no paga..if you don't like it you don't pay.. . Everything looks delicious. Specifically that campechana Taco, I mean tostada.. I'm subscribing. You guys keep enjoying Mexico 🙏🥑🇲🇽
Great video. You guys are always so local, you go to the best spots but also the little less known places at every town you go. I love it. Keep it up! 👍🏻🥳
This is Paul and Gloria.... In Oaxaca. Ensenada has always fascinated me. I lived in California for 25 years, so Baja California was muchos años closer. Although I like southern Mexico, Ensenada would be a good place for people who want to still connect to the USA and use their Medicare. I like the fact that it's a working City of a half a million, so the foreigners can kind of blend in a little bit. I like it when you talk a little bit about the weather, the economy, and other pertinent information for would be vacationers and relocators..
Hi Paul! Yeah I think it’s a nice spot to visit for sure. Oh I thought we mentioned it was chilly now so to bring warm clothes and talked about the port including the cruises and the fishermen which is all a part of the economy there. We are only in these spots for a short amount of time so we just talk about what we experience! 😊
What a fantastic tour you both gave us ❤. My grandparents had a beach house down there all threw the 70’s we lived lived there all summer and holidays on the beach. I have pictures of being at the Blow hole when I was 13 years old right on the cliff. No guard rails back then & only 1- Restaurant. Churros for us kids on the street. Thank you both so much. Cheers 🥂 😊
You guys visited my favorite place in Ensenada- Hogaza Hogaza. I love the pastries, coffee and breakfast sandwiches there. 🥰 I think you hit all the perfect spots- the perfect blend of cafes, food, bars and culture (museums + culture centers). For those who are science nerds Ensenada has great universities that have a strong focus on Marine Biology and conservation. Hopefully you guys get to visit Valle de Guadalupe. Have a great New Year 🎉
Happy Monday! Cool to see Ensenada. I wish I remember more about it from the one time I went, but it was a while back. 1975. :-) I can't wait to see what you two do in the new year.
We were in Ensenada on our cruise and we loved it. Definitely didn't have enough time there though so we will have to go back. We went to the Riviera del Pacifico too and had a margarita - but it was also at the same time as a huge race so I think your experience looks more peaceful!
Opera caaaaaaaaaake! I think that was the very first "Hug Bug" where the viewer was "the pickle" in a Country Collector sammitch! Fantastic to stop in at an Anthony Bourdain stop ...and one that he was so high on! A video-bomb at 22:22! Cool "snap" transition near the end. (Good job with the "appearance" of taco toppings too - worked out great!) Makes you wonder if certain locations can inspire creativity - if we're coded, as humans, to dial into it somehow when we reach certain coodinates. The Bourdain ranking, the sauces, the stickers, the video-magic! You guys are really on the pulse of these locations. I think all the time you've spent there really pays off - speaks of a top-quality educational resource and travel guide, it also reflects a real admiration for the culture and the people - to say that the country deserves to be covered so well. I'm blown away! "Mexico" was a sloppy collection of movie-clip memories to me before Country Collectors. Now, if I close my eyes and imagine Mexico, I KNOW wonders!
Wow!! We absolutely love reading your comments. They make our hearts so full! Thanks for being so supportive of us. Wishing you and yours a beautiful new year Jay!
Hay guys really cool, we've never been to ensinada. Real nice place especially the boofadora. We loved san Philippe but we haven't been there for 20 years or so. Like pinasco I bet it's grown. We're here in Sinaloa for the holidays, had some mariscos yesterday. Man those taco's looked awesome. Happy new year to you both... PEACE...
I've gotta say, we have not been disappointed by any of your recommendations. We went to McFisher in La Paz twice it was so good when we went in February and the same for Cochiloka in Playa when we were there a few weeks ago.
As always, a great presentation of this interesting Mexican place with so much to offer especially to tourists! I really drooled while watching you trying those mouth-watering foods! Two thumbs up!
You're a serious case you two guys! Amazing videos! Incredible information, tips, how you detailed things that we don't see in a ordinary image, the way you enjoy mexican gastronomic; ¡En buena hora!

Hiii. New follower. We cruise twice a year to Ensenada. My family lives there. We love to visit. Ty soo much for sharing your fav spots to eat. I love shrimp tacos. I just bookmarked the locations you mentioned on Google Maps. Last time we were in Ensenada I got three tattoos. Hoping to get another in December. Ty for posting!!
Welcome to the channel! You have great taste in food - Shrimp tacos are amazing! 🤩 it’s such a cool place and I’m grateful we got to share or spots with you!
Happy New Year my friends! So glad I received my weekly chuckle and smiling ear to ear.😊 Creation of taco...hmmm well I used to go to San Felipe as a child for holiday and for just a few pesos you got THE BEST taco ever. Still makes my mouth water and washed it down with real cane coco cola. Oddly, many times you would get potatoes from the mountains mixed with the seafood from the ocean and the combination was amazing...especially with the homemade burritos. I have so many stories and I'm so glad you are creating your own. Until next week! Thank you
Another great episdode from the beauty that is Mexico. My only question is, through all your travels in Meheco, has Adam finally found the perfect taco? inquiring minds want too know? lol. Thanks guys
A kaleidoscope of sights, foods, activities! Entertaining and informative video. Thanks, Heidi and Adam. Looking forward to your work in 2023. Happy New Year!

How do you relax or just spend your days between videos? Love, from Rick and Cathy - Southern California 🙏🏽🇺🇸🇲🇽
Great video as usual👍Happy New year. I have reached out to you before. We live in San Diego and we have gone to Tijuana many times and absolutely love it. I think my husband and I will go to Tijuana and take the bus to Ensenada the way you did. I have a question can you get around Ensenada easily without a car? Are you walking or doing Uber? Lastly did you explore a Valle de Guadalupe that supposed to be fabulous and I would love to see it if you do. Wishing you wonderful blessings for 2023 thank you for your videos Melissa
Just discovered your channel! I live in Ensenada, and I am still getting hungry after seeing a fish taco lol. Keep doing this great work. You earned a new sub!

Happy New years kids! Oh! I can just taste the food, feel the ocean breezes and through your video(s) feel I've been there too! Adam & Heidi thank you! Wishing you a blessed and successful 2023! How do you relax or just spend your days between videos? Love, from Rick and Cathy - Southern California 🙏🏽🇺🇸🇲🇽
Thanks so much for your support! Honestly we don’t really relax or have days off. That’s something we hope to work on. Creating a better balance.

Thank you 😊
Been there done that many times. Great job !
Great!!
Yes you can get around with Uber very easily and yes we rented a car and went there the video will come out this Sunday!
Just discovered your channel! I live in Ensenada, and I am still getting hungry after seeing a fish taco lol. Keep doing this great work. You earned a new sub!
