- AirSprint Private Aviation is Canada’s largest provider of fractional ownership aircraft, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.
In addition to their base at Calgary International Airport, they also use Springbank Airport just west of the city. That occasionally leads to some short repositioning flights between the two airports.
So, when a friend of mine who flies for AirSprint asked if I'd like to come along on one of those empty repositioning flights... Well, the answer is obvious!

I will go to Canada in 5 months, already looking forward to it! Seeing friendly people like your friend make it even better. Great flight :)
Excellent video Alex! I'm glad we made it work despite the short flight time! Hopefully you recovered from that landing by now 😜😬.
Airsprint is one of my favorite clients at YHU. Crews are always friendly and their planes look great!
Did you have to UBER back to Springbank to get your car ? I've had friends drive and hour and half to get a plane ride. BTW .....I have a friend here in Edmonton that has a Vans RV6. I'm 100% I could get you an aerobatic ride if your ever up this way. I lasted 15 min...LOL He flys out of Villeneuve CZVL
Nice plane. Nice flight. One of the first aviation RUclipsrs I followed was Guido Warnecke who flew Citation N365EA all over the place.
In the 1970s my plane was based at Springbank. I hope to fly her back there some day.
Ok, my question is...if you drove to the airport, how did you get back to your car??? Also, I've been able to sit next to the pilot on a Cape Air flight into Boston Logan...it was the Aviation Geek dream come true.
I was wondering that too? Unless someone dropped him off at one airport and picked him up at the other
Uber lol
public transport exists....
@@ysesq Public transit? In Calgary? lol
@@elainecao7339 there are worse places. at least you guys have some decent bike infrastructure. 2.5 hrs by ebike. haha.
Awesome. I love repo flights. Never done one on a Bizjet, mostly RJs
Great work Alex and what an amazing video. Keep up the amazing work.
What a thrill that must have been for you and what a beautiful flight it was.....thanks for sharing!
What a lovely little video. Thanks Alex. In the 1970s, I flew out of Springbank as rear-seat 'ballast' in a Cessna, for a friend's private-pilot examination. Very bumpy air.
Nine minutes of Cessna Citation sensation. 😃 Enjoying the view from a comfy C-FASY flight seat.
What a neat video! Awesome work!
Great catch...I really enjoyed this one, you were very lucky!
Springbank is a very interesting airport. I'm glad you got to fly out of it! Great video, alex
Nice video alex! keep up the great content
I am so happy for you, I can taste your enthusiasm . What a ride Alex.
You lucky big Man.
Greetings from a not cold YVR,
Bas.
what a fun opportunity! cool flight
Fantastic, thanks
Cockpit 🤩
Beautiful video ❤
Very cool flight, Alex. Thanks for taking us along.
OMG the crunching of your feat on the snow chilled me to my bones.
Amazing video Alex, have just discovered the channel, obviously watched this one also the Singapore A380 flight, excellent streams,. NOW SUBSCRIBED.
Part of me is ever so worried that you might get used to this 'high life' flying mate haha.
That is definitely some Alex legroom right there, maybe you need to get on the citation more often. Such a great treat and experience. So kind of the crew to have you along for that short hop.
Thanks for sharing it with all of us mate. Liked 😁😁✈✈
Neat experience!
that's cool ... short flight vs no flight ... I'll take the short every time
Very cool! I have never been to Springbank eh! Or been on a private jet :)
How cool was that!? Wow!
I have seen C-FASY a few times at Peterborough Airport (YPQ). A very sleek looking aircraft
you lucky s.o.b. fantastic opportunity
Nothing better then a flight deck jumpseat!! 👍 (Although not sure if that was from a jumpseat? Either way, same fantastic view).
Magic
As a 10-year old (MANY years ago!) a friend and I were hanging around PWK as we did a lot then and got to go up in a Lear Jet for a training flight for an hour. I had to call my Mom for permission, but we had an absolute blast, I will never forget that!
This flight as long as the video!
How do the allocate slots between owners? I imagine that some times, like before holidays, could quickly become overbooked?
And now I want a private jet.... a girl can dream! Very cool video, Alex.
Start looking for empty legs and prepared to travel at the last minute!
A few years back my instructor and I discussed what we could do with that week’s record lottery jackpot. To legally fly a Citation Mustang you would need a PPL with multi-engine and type ratings. To exploit its performance you would need an instrument rating. To get insurance you would need at least a CPL.
i was wondering..does that first airport have a de-icing facility? or because the short layovers don't take away the heat from the wings..very curious to know..thank you sir for this video.
Nice video.
So cool, even for 9 mins. When your channel explodes, you can buy a share.
Thanks for sharing...interesting, albeit brief! I didn't hear any reverse thrusters upon landing, so I assume Cessna Citations don't have/need them?
Indeed, I'm pretty sure they don't have reverse thrusters
We don't have reverse thrust on the CJ3+. We use brakes, ground flaps and speed brakes to slow down. It's definitely weird not having them!
Thanks!
amazing corporate allowed it including filming.
That's the same plane the company I work for fly's it's executives in, which I am very lucky to be one, although my average flight in them is 43 minutes depending on the weather.
I once seen a private jet (for like ten seconds).
Is it me or do they taxi fast?
Just for fun, how much fuel did that 9 minutes flight burn?
At $2000/hr that flight would be like $300; an UberX from YYC to YBW prolly cost more...
I have a small doubt, i am an international student who will travelling to Saskatoon via Calgary. This is the first time I'll be entering canada and I'll be having to clear immigration. Will i be doing this in Saskatoon after the connection or in Calgary itself? If i am having to do at calgary itself, how long do i have to leave inbetween the connection ?
you'll clear immigration in Calgary itself and then you will catch a domestic flight to Sask. Should leave yourself 1-2hours between flights just in case anything happens or changes
Plane took off within 5 seconds😅
I’m jealous 😊
8:59 minutes longer than me.
Please help I'm expanding my channel into aviation and airline reviews and I've been working on contacting the airlines to get media credentials and desirably tarmac access walk around preflight etc cetera do you have any tips tricks or advice on communicating with airlines as they seem to be somewhat slow and indifferent
While watching this video, there was an AirSprint add: Join our Team. Is that a coincidence or was that intentional?
Imagine taking your RUclipsr buddy with 80k subs on a flight, where you know he'll be filming, and then totally sewering the landing 😫 It was a very kind gesture of him though!
It sounds worse than it felt 😉
@@photojasinski if u don't mind, how many hours did u have prior to getting this gig?
Do you work in aviation?
The inflight service was horrible, Alex!!
Not first.
It sounds like they didn't use the thrust reversers upon landing. Guess they wouldn't need them on such a long runway where your final destination is at the end of the runway anyway.
The CJ3+ doesn’t have reverse thrust actually. We use ground flaps that also deploy speed brakes and brakes to slow down.
only once..?
First
No one cares
Get a life.
From last year, I decided I will not get into any single piloted airplane unless I get the co-pilot seat. I have no idea which pilot had the so call "vaccine" and I rather fly with a drunk pilot than one with the vax. The drunk would sober up with time, but the vexed can just keel over and someone else will have to land the plane.
Whoopie do, so you took a flight in a jet. I never like them and prefer to fly in turbo props instead. I leave the jets to the ignorant public. Jets are still struggling with the "sound barrier" for the last 3/4 century and I see no improvement coming for the next 1/4 century. These jets are best suited to business people with a fixed and short schedule, usually a few days maximum. I am Asian and some of my trips are crossing the Pacific , which few of these jets have the range for , airlines still reign supreme. Many of these jets have trouble even if they have to island hop across the Pacific.
