From what i gathered this is what i think happened. Start new world Talk to guide Chop down tree Put copper sword in crafting guide menu, revealing zenith recipe Finish cutting tree and get timber achievement Click on achievement to open achievement menu Press escape to exit achievement menu while also exiting guide menu Crafting recipe persists despite closing guide menu Craft zenith
from the looks of it having the zenith recipe in guide menu then clicking on an achievement makes the game think you’re actually crafting the item so they just took the zenith… very goofy
if you have a item in teh crafting tab of the guide and click on the center achievement notification then go back and click on the item you are trying to craft it crafts.

Did some testing, turns out you can replicate this glitch in tModLoader using the achievements mod and selecting “per character”. And holy cow does it have so much exploitation potential. Essentially this can be used with ANY crafting material. You can forget the complex transmutation glitch, with this you can get the Ark of the Cosmos, Auric Tesla Armor, etc. in only a few minutes and throwaway characters. yeah, you'll need to delete the achievements file data in your steam folder there's alot of tutorials if you look up "how to reset your achievements terraria"
1k hours? either ur so garbage at the game that u might as well just uninstall or ur luck is the complete opposite of dreams and at that point might as well free up some space for something else on ur hard drive because ur just cursed at that point

guide gives you the recipe, but marks it as uncraftable opening achievements menu closes guide menu recipe remains without guide menu, so item becomes craftable

How to do this glitch:
