You can cut off a lot of time on that starter duplication. If you catch 2 pokemon right away, you can leave one with your first starter in the pc, thus cancelling the need to get more pokeballs for the third starter. Or you can give the first starter a pokeball to hold

Theres a set up for the coin case glitch that doesn't require setting up items each time( I believe you only need to do it once) and you just change the names of the PC boxes instead. Way easier method =)

Just wait until you get the TM's in the wrong pocket. Also while taking some glitch items from bad clones you can eventually get the item underflow glitch and you can mess with the game's memory
When I was a kid we used to play through the start of the game 6 times total to get 2 of each starter and trade them to each other! Took forever but totally worth it ahaha!

A wierd case of this is the move bite, which was a normal type move in gen 1 so it was a physical attack, but it was changed into a dark type move in gen 2 so it became a special attack.
Got a sub once you said Totodile is the only right choice for Gen 2 starters. Completely agree he was my fav starter till torchic and piplup (theyre 2nd and 3rd but I like Blazakin more than Feraligtr.)

The color pallet swap is almost permanent. You have to be at a specific spot when battling your rival for the first time for it to stay and after saving the slowpoke in slowpoke well it always corrects itself.
3:01 This glitch is easier to do in silver/gold then crystal cuz this is basically how you do the duplication glitch but the timing for the glitch was changed in crystal in gold and silver you could do the duplication glitch anywhere between don’t and power, while in crystal every word must be on screen and you have to reset like 3.3-3.4 seconds of the games saved you failed the glitch. Also with this glitch give your starter a pokeball do you don’t have to get the mystery egg every time.
I recently got the digital version of Crystal and found out that trying to trade ends the palette glitch and the character will return to the color they're supposed to be after a brief sprite confusion when you confirm that you want to trade.
I read a billion k-zone / cheat book magazines and grew up on Silver/Gold; never realised you could clone the starters the same way you can clone the pc.
I assume that the glitch test in the sound test menu and the card game are supposed to be untranslated Japanese text, but since they replaced the Japanese character sprites with the Latin alphabet, it just displays as garbage.

There's now an even easier way of getting Pokemon via the coin case glitch that also adds them to your Pokedex. You don't even need any items, it works by renaming PC Boxes and hatching the Pokemon you want from an Egg.
You need this party: 1. Any Egg 2. A low-lvl, fresh caught Pokemon (like in the video it might take a few tries to find a good one) 3. Any Pokemon 4. Quagsire holding TM02 with Return as it's first move 5. Empty Slot 6. Empty Slot Rename your PC Boxes the following (ignore spaces): Box 1: A p 0 k 'v A 5 5 Box 2: é 'm 2 p [code for the pokemon you want] Box 3: é A 4 p 'v 7 'v 'd Box 4: é ♂ 2 p é D 9 'l Box 5: 'l 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 Box 6: 5 5 5 A 'l x 'd 5 Go to Cherrygrove Mart, exit, walk 4 steps right, listen to Bellsprout's cry, go in your Pack and press left/right a couple times, then use the Coin Case. I'd never heard of the first one, the colour change one before! After trying it, just so you know, while it does stay that way even after saving and resetting, for some reason if you interact with the PC in your room and put away the feathery bed or something, it resets the colours again

Before my Gold copy died due to battery issues, I had a "bad" clone who was s fusion of Pinsir and Sandslash. I was clonning a TM using the deposit/change box, and my Pinsir fused with a Sandslash. It had a pinsir sprite but in game it was a Sandslash. As soon as I defeated a pokemon his exp started as full like he leveled up, and then proceed to show the normal exp. I tried so hard to find something similar, or to do it again, I have no Idea if my itens in pc and/or pokes at party at the time influenced on this, But he remained without change trough 1000h of playtrough

Sadly that player palette swap isn't permanent, I know because I did it on one of my files and it reset at some point around 20 hours into a shiny hunt

Can anyone explain to me this glitch I had? I was trading between my pokemon silver and yellow game and after the trade kinda bugged out I turned off my pokemon silver and when I talked to the trading lady again it started a battle against a glitched sprite named Executive something and it had a lvl 30 houndour.
It would be so cool to know these glitches in 2001 (year of release in Europe) but back then we only had the cloning glitche. The information went through word of mouth or through magazines, not everyone had internet at this moment. And espically not children.
i just had a weird glitch happen to me, i dont know if its in this video cuz i havent watched it yet but i wanted to explain, i opened my vc silver today tryna do the coin case glitch and i open my pc boxes to find a wooper named nora i think which is actually a sudowoodo which i know because of its moveset and stats also it turns into the sudowoodo in battle and its from my other account (which is weird because ive never traded from crystal to silver i dont think), next i had a sudowoodo in the box which is the actual sudowoodo sprite but its actually shuckie the shuckle which i know from its stats and moves and from the fact that it becomes shuckle in battle, now the weirdest two parts is i never caught a wooper, and i also had a level 0 pokemon that had the sprite of the shuckle and had the name shuckle when i took it out the box but when i used it in battle i sent out the player and it had no moves but didnt use struggle and its name was ? and it was level 1 lol its alot of weird things but after that, i deposited them all into the box and they disappeared, but it says i have 5 pokemon in my box 😂 so i resetted the game and i got them back just so i could see whats going on lol, has this ever happened to anyone or did i discover a new glitch? also i havent used the game in a while and messed with the date on my 3ds so maybe thats a cause
definately need to add timestamps and info for each glitch czu i may be coming back here haha. I need the blue trainer sprite and forgot how to clone since i was a kid. I also remember stuff like typing pink with unknown to make a pink butterfree or something? And also cloning rare candies haha. But yeah add timestamps, im saving the video

With Glitch 2 leave the first starter with a held pokeball. Then you don't need to see Mr Pokémon before getting the 3rd starter. :)

FYI, the reason your Crunch did almost no damage here is likely because Special Attack was zero, and all Dark type moves were special in Gen 2.

Tip: give your starter pokemon a pokeball so it cut some time from talking to Mr. Pokemon.

Can’t say I’ve waited for any premiers, but I had to make an exception for this. Not only that, but it was well worth it!
Totodile and Cyndaquil are beasts. They can learn moves that not only counter their weaknesses but wipe the floor with them. In Gen 2 at least.

Outside of Missing No the Item Duplication glitch in GSC might be the most famous one in all of Pokemon.
The cloning glitch while holding items is how I finally got the 3 roaming beasts in Silver lmao I couldn't get them otherwise, fckn Roar lol

There's now an even easier way of getting Pokemon via the coin case glitch that also adds them to your Pokedex. You don't even need any items, it works by renaming PC Boxes and hatching the Pokemon you want from an Egg.
You need this party:
1. Any Egg
2. A low-lvl, fresh caught Pokemon (like in the video it might take a few tries to find a good one)
3. Any Pokemon
4. Quagsire holding TM02 with Return as it's first move
5. Empty Slot
6. Empty Slot
Rename your PC Boxes the following (ignore spaces):
Box 1: A p 0 k 'v A 5 5
Box 2: é 'm 2 p [code for the pokemon you want]
Box 3: é A 4 p 'v 7 'v 'd
Box 4: é ♂ 2 p é D 9 'l
Box 5: 'l 5 5 5 5 5 5 5
Box 6: 5 5 5 A 'l x 'd 5
Go to Cherrygrove Mart, exit, walk 4 steps right, listen to Bellsprout's cry, go in your Pack and press left/right a couple times, then use the Coin Case. The game will lag a bit, save and reset then hatch the egg.

@@Alex_Off-Beat It even better than the one shown here since you are only using replaceable items and can be done as soon as you reach Goldenrod City. Even better there is a code to change the OT number and name ro transfer a shiny mew to Pokemon bank.

the reason why the swinub didnt do much damage despite having green line 64 is because it used crunch which is a special move

I'd never heard of the first one, the colour change one before! After trying it, just so you know, while it does stay that way even after saving and resetting, for some reason if you interact with the PC in your room and put away the feathery bed or something, it resets the colours again

@@MikeyTaylorGaming no probs, loved the video! Update on the colour change - I restarted and did the glitch again, and unfortunately, after defeating Team Rocket at Slowpoke Well, the cut back to Kurt's house also changes the colour back to normal too. Ah well, fun while it lasted

i find it unsettling that the color editing thing has letters that sort of spell "save us"
Before my Gold copy died due to battery issues, I had a "bad" clone who was s fusion of Pinsir and Sandslash. I was clonning a TM using the deposit/change box, and my Pinsir fused with a Sandslash. It had a pinsir sprite but in game it was a Sandslash. As soon as I defeated a pokemon his exp started as full like he leveled up, and then proceed to show the normal exp.
I tried so hard to find something similar, or to do it again, I have no Idea if my itens in pc and/or pokes at party at the time influenced on this, But he remained without change trough 1000h of playtrough

I was trading between my pokemon silver and yellow game and after the trade kinda bugged out I turned off my pokemon silver and when I talked to the trading lady again it started a battle against a glitched sprite named Executive something and it had a lvl 30 houndour.
But do this work on the virtual cartridge on 3DS XL?

It would be so cool to know these glitches in 2001 (year of release in Europe) but back then we only had the cloning glitche. The information went through word of mouth or through magazines, not everyone had internet at this moment. And espically not children.

i just had a weird glitch happen to me, i dont know if its in this video cuz i havent watched it yet but i wanted to explain, i opened my vc silver today tryna do the coin case glitch and i open my pc boxes to find a wooper named nora i think which is actually a sudowoodo which i know because of its moveset and stats also it turns into the sudowoodo in battle and its from my other account (which is weird because ive never traded from crystal to silver i dont think), next i had a sudowoodo in the box which is the actual sudowoodo sprite but its actually shuckie the shuckle which i know from its stats and moves and from the fact that it becomes shuckle in battle, now the weirdest two parts is i never caught a wooper, and i also had a level 0 pokemon that had the sprite of the shuckle and had the name shuckle when i took it out the box but when i used it in battle i sent out the player and it had no moves but didnt use struggle and its name was ? and it was level 1 lol its alot of weird things but after that, i deposited them all into the box and they disappeared, but it says i have 5 pokemon in my box 😂 so i resetted the game and i got them back just so i could see whats going on lol, has this ever happened to anyone or did i discover a new glitch? also i havent used the game in a while and messed with the date on my 3ds so maybe thats a cause

When you obtain legendaries through this glitch does the game consider them “legit” so if I trade it to newer versions it will be as if I actually obtained it?

Yes. The only things diffrent are emulator inaccuracies, so 99.99% of the same facts are still accurate.
