What happens when you get overly defensive like this is you can't tell the difference between trolls leaving hate, and normal people giving feedback. Yes, customer feedback and market research is a part of business practice, it's not "gossip and tea". She's so defensive that she doesn't want to hear anything from anyone, everything is cancel culture, every opinion is hate. Imagine big companies said they're not answering where their labor is from because they don't feed into the gossip... That's not how business works.

@@hafsaentertainmentJaclyn stole her KOZE name from a smaller influencer and trademarked it. Even though this women had been selling items for years b4. (She is from Canada which their trademark system is very expensive than here in the states). A simple google search would have gave Jalyn the info she needed to not steal it yet she claims she did research and "nothing came up for KOZE". The morally right thing to do would be for JH to reach out to this women and offer a deal or maybe anything other than stealing the exact spelling. So in short the trademark "joke" was throwing shade to the company she stole and made shut down bc she didn't trademark in time.
But a side note: in the legal system the women would have won bc all she had to do was prove she had been selling b4 JH came out with anything and when JH did launch she would need to prove that her income was affected bc if the same name.

Oh man, I've followed for over 10 years. Brought the products, gave the benefit of a doubt. But the attitude here over not owing an explanation on stealing someone else's humble brand. I'm a business woman too. Women should support other women not steal from them. This is truly the final straw. Ethics and kindness before crushing others hard work and dreams always.

This situation has become so sad, and I can't even focus on the actual tutorial anymore. Money rly reveals your true character and now that she's swimming in it, she's basically telling her subscribers (the reason she's filthy rich) that she owes us nothing. It's sad but I think it's time to accept this is her answer and just who she truly is; an insecure narcissist who takes no accountability and gaslights her audience.

@Dani she stole her "Koze" from a smaller brand with the same name and has only addressed it with her "at least they trademarked it" sassy comment in this video. There's also legal documents online proving that her Jaclyn cosmetics brand is in fact NOT hers, she's just the face of the brand. It's also not a family owned company as she claimed at the release of the brand. Instead of giving her "loving subscribers" a genuine explanation, she basically has told them it's not their business. She's continued to make it difficult to trust her over the years and now it seems she's just showing the mean girl she rly is. Growing up, maturing, "being 32", etc is not the same as being too tired to become a better person.
But sometimes fans/supporters/customers are owed an explanation bc they are quite literally the ppl that pay your bills. It’s not hard to be transparent when there’s nothing to hide. Every explanation has always been vague with no real answer or just plagued with avoidance. Real transparency & accountability go a long way.
I’m not here to spread hate… but you should honestly take this video down. If anything Kalyn could even sue you for defamation. This was very unprofessional, disheartening and sad. Why must we tear other women down to get to the top? Whether if you believe she should have trademark the brand or not, there is NO excuse to continue to tear her down. What happened to being a girls girl? I really think you need to do some self reflection and remember your roots. This video was sad. You're right, business is business. However, there are other ways of doing business without being a piece of 💩 about it. Plenty of other influencers who were OG's on YT have successfully started several businesses without stepping on others to get further up. You should try it sometime. I think this video is the final nail in the coffin for me.. I've been a fan since the very beginning, and have taken a step back these past few years. I haven't bought anything from any of Jaclyn's brands since the lipsticks. I have, however, been a silent viewer. I had been hoping to see a change in behavior from Jaclyn to earn my trust again. At this rate, she'll never be able to win my trust back.

Here in the Philippines, I have noticed that beauty enthusiasts and other makeup artists are following a lot of makeup artists and beauty influencers from Thailand and South Korea. The beauty trends here is not anymore influenced by beauty gurus in the US and other Western countries. Local influencers and other asian influencers have stepped up and became very influential here. Even the newly launched local makeup products have been very well received by a lot of Filipinos and they no longer rely too much on Western brands now unlike before.
I'm happy to hear that!! These rich beauty RUclipsrs with no morals are not worth it.

It’s not actually that. Its the beauty world not wanting “too much make up” anymore but they want products that are “skin care-like”. I myself used to work in a beauty section of Watsons wayback 2018 when “more make up the better” was the trend, today less make up more skincare is in, that’s why the RUclips beauty community died.

There are many who aren’t judging your character but questioning some practices. There are legitimate questions being asked that you are categorizing as judgement of character. People want to know why official docs say you aren’t the owner of this makeup and people are asking about the name of Koze and what transpired there with another RUclipsr. Actually, by answering these questions, it shows immense character on your part. But leaving everyone in the dark opens up to speculation and accusations which is worse. 😕 Pretty makeup though.

‘It’s business’ is just a shitty attitude to have to be honest. Most brands you buy from, you go to knowingly that you are taking a chance on the brand until you build a level of trust on the product you buy from them but this is totally different because Jaclyn IS the brand. Her consumers are mostly people that have built an online relationship with her, also mostly over a number of many years, and so trust is already established. Of course people that have supported her are going to feel that they deserve an explanation around things. Especially when they feel that there has been a level of deception and or dishonesty. There is nothing genuine about the videos on here any more. No love for makeup anymore. It’s just a constant sales pitch. It was nice to just be Jaclyn though for a change and not her seeming to act up or show off with her team in the background while filming. That was so uncomfortable to watch

Something about her always referring to her team as employees frustrates me. As a perpetual employee and never a boss, I personally felt so valued and validated when my bosses called me colleagues or coworkers or team members. Just food for thought.

We should not judge others, especially when we don't know all the facts. However, this whole Jaclyn Cosmetics bankruptcy thing is huge news and warrants an explanation. Especially to the fans of her channel and her products. They are the ones who helped make her wealthy. If she wants credibility then a certain level of transparency is necessary. It has all been published, Amanda, and is public information....all bankruptcies are. In this case, it is the parent company that has filed.
JH does not own her cosmetic company, and never has, nor has she been the CEO. This is also now public information, as revealed in the bankruptcy proceedings. She has been lying. Plus, the trademark affair with Kaylin is an indication of being morally bankrupt, even though snatching that name was legal.

I truly miss back when it was just makeup tutorials gushing over things she loved that she didn’t make a ton of money from. I still follow shadow tutorials from 5-7yrs ago. Hasn’t been anything new to save to my playlists since then. I’m also guessing that’s the new robe she’s coming out with too. I don’t believe she would be happy just doing tutorials. It’s sad, money corrupts and as someone who was a diehard fan, I started feeling like I was just being pushed products on nonstop. I mentioned it years ago when the glasses line came out. Other fans attacked me for saying I felt it was just always trying to make constant money off of supporters selling everything & anything. She replied if I was really a fan I’d support her no matter what bc making a sunglasses line was always her dream. Then there was the jewelry at one point I think. Now it’s lounge wear. She had the ability to have an amazing long lasting brand that rivaled the others, high quality but affordable. I was so excited for that after so many years hyping it up and teasing it, I assumed it would focus on eyeshadows bc I think she was most known for her eye looks then. It’s just been quality issue after issue, nothing seemed original or unique it’s just selling bc she’s a hard seller and the name. But then “it’s business I don’t owe you an explanation!” Just wow. Not the kind of business I’d trust. I know I’m not alone among longtime OG supporters who lived and breathed Jaclyn tutorials and were gradually pushed away more and more. Finally found a comment saying this (I’m guessing tons are getting deleted). It was the “it’s BUSINESS and I don’t have to tell you ANYTHING” that was the end for me. I’d rather support someone transparent, honest, and professional. She ticks none of those boxes anymore. It’s a shame, I used to be a huge fan.
I’ve always loved her spunk and knowledge on makeup. My issue is her videos don’t seem genuine when the only time you’re making one is to sell something. Even if she really wasn’t trying to push her makeup line it wasn’t a coincidence that she threw in her robe, that she’s wearing, is about to be available. I really hope she just starts doing makeup tutorials again and gets back to her authentic self.

I’ve followed her since 2013, I don’t know what’s worse… lying about owning a business/company that her name is not attached other than being the face of, or stealing a business from another influencer and selling the same product. The other person had a business under that name for a long time but didn't get to trademarking yet.
When Jaclyn revealed her brand name would be KOZE, the other business owner asked them to change their name. Instead of doing that, Jaclyn trademarked it.
It would cost the other owner like 95k to fight it in court but she doesn't want the drama or to hurt Jaclyn.
So she took the high road.
