Hi, can you share some information about one day bus tours of Edinburgh and highlands.

There are a variety of companies that run tours from Edinburgh to the Highlands, including Rabbie’s, Highland Experience, and Timberbush, among others. Hope this helps!

Hey Ashley and Arek, great channel! Question, is it worth taking a hop-on/hop-off bus tour? Or just get the Lothian day ticket with unlimited journeys? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your kind words, Andres! That’s a great question, and we’d say it really depends on your preferences. The hop-on/off bus tours are definitely more convenient if you want to easily hit all of the major attractions, especially if you don’t have a ton of time. Plus, they take you right to the entrance of attractions (except for the castle!), which a normal Lothian bus might not. (For example, a normal Lothian bus will get you about a 5-minute walk away from Dynamic Earth. And the hop-on/off bus will get you as close to the castle as they can - a bit closer than a Lothian bus would.) And the hop-on/off tickets also offer discounts to some attractions if you’re keen to visit a lot. But if there are only a few key attractions that you want to see, then probably the normal Lothian buses would be better. Hope this helps!

It will be my 1st time in Edinburgh and am considering a free walking tour and I was wondering what is considerate an acceptable tip? Like what is the minimum to max you can tip?

We’d say around £10 per person if you can afford it and if you felt that the tour was worth it! Of course you can tip more if you feel it is well deserved. Hope this helps!

@@OneJourneyAway thx alot. I come from a country where tipping isn't part of the culture but appreciated, that's why I was wondering bc I didn't want to look cheap lol. Thanks alot for your answer and for all the tips in your blog.

You’re welcome! The tipping culture in the UK is nowhere near as intense as in North America, so we wouldn’t worry too much about tipping here. Like your country, it’s definitely appreciated, but no one’s going to chase you out the door of a restaurant if you don’t leave a tip!

@@OneJourneyAway it is actually good to know because I've always dreamt of visiting Scotland but am on a very tight budget(am a student), but let's hope that with the help of your tips I'll make the best out of my trip. ^^
