  • We take the Arrow out for the first time in VERY windy and choppy conditions, she did great!! This is an excellent value boat for new boaters, kids, or your friend who you don't quite trust with your expensive boats haha. It does 23mph on 3s (stock battery included) and then we put 4s in it out of the box and we get it up to 31mph!!! 😮😮 Run 4s at your own risk but it worked for us!!

    Of all the videos I've watched about this boat this is the only one that actually shows it going slow. I've been hesitant to buy this boat because I did not know if you could actually use it slowly. But you have now finally answered my question. Thank you

    Will it self right with a 4s? You flipped it by hand. Bad bad bad. Attention to detail is a must on RUclips

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  Год назад +1

      Seriously man lol. If it can flip on 3s it can flip on 4s. Bad bad bad that you don’t understand the effect of torque…

      @@UngluedModeler nope I've seen several videos where it wouldn't flip on 4s because of the weight of some of the 4s batteries....

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  Год назад +1

      Ok I’ll give you that haha. I had a small 4s in there to keep it the same weight as the bigger 3s. While I admit I didn’t try to flip it I’m really am confident that it would. I think the key is to use a smaller battery. I was using a 1200mah 4s from one of my freestyle quadcopters.

    About get 1 those or traxxas 2.4 with one is better ?

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  Год назад +1

      This boat is a great bargain “starter boat”. It has a brushless motor and comes with a lipo so it has decent performance out of the box. Which Traxxas boat are you looking at? When you say 2.4 are you referring to the radio system? Because that is the standard (2.4 ghz) in all RC now.

    Will running with lipo 4s lead to overheating and cause the esc to burn?

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  Год назад +1

      This is a do it at your own risk scenario for sure. However…I’m assuming you watched the video and saw our results. It worked fine and the ESC wasn’t even warm. But…you also will have to manage the throttle and not do non stop full throttle running. Good luck!

    How does this do with waves? Really love sending boats on some rough water

      And are replacement parts available

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  Год назад

      It does pretty good. I like it for a “cheap” boat. It’s crossing into the hobby grade category barely haha. I wouldn’t pay more than $150-175 for it. So look around. Sometimes it’s up around $200-250. But by that point you can get a Pro Boat Recoil for like $100 extra which will destroy this Arrow in all aspects. But the arrow is great at around $150-175. As far as wave handling…it did great on 3s but once we put a 4s into it the extra torque it made would flip the boat mid air once it launched off of my wake. It was definitely faster but harder to control in the chop due to the extra torque. As far as spare parts go? Not really sure I haven’t looked yet. But a lot of people just upgrade the boat as needed with other parts soooo 🤷‍♂️😂. Good luck it’s a fun little starter boat/beater boat hahah.

      Are you using a hobby grade LiPo balance charger that monitors voltages per cell? Reason I ask is because the charger that comes with this boat (and most other RTR boats) is not good. It is possible that the charger isn’t charging and balancing your battery correctly. The other possibility is the battery is damaged from being discharged to far or not being stored correctly at storage voltage. The symptoms you describe sound like battery issues.

    • @alonzoakbar6760

      @@UngluedModeler No, just the one that came with it. I will definitely order one and see. 👍🏾 Any suggestions on the best option?

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  Год назад +1

      Awesome! Yeah I almost guarantee the charger is your problem. My battery cells were so out of balance that only a true balance charger will fix it. Here’s a link to a dual channel one that will work for you. Dual channel you can do two batteries at the same time. You can have one charging and one discharging, or two balance charging at the same time. Very convenient. amzn.to/3V2T1qX
      If you only need a single channel (one battery at a time) this one will work. amzn.to/3e3CW3r
      Lipo battery maintenance is kind of a pain but it’s essential to keep your batteries operating correctly and safely. If you need help with setting up those chargers let me know! I can walk you through the settings and what voltages to charge at and how to safely storage charge the battery!

    If electronics are stock you shouldn’t be putting 4s you can fry things 🤦‍♂️ 😂 not many have succeeded with 4s and if so it was a one off thing
    I wouldn’t recommend it
