- I've spent the last couple of days dialing in my Reflex 14B on the new carpet track. Here are the upgrades I made to the electronics and shocks and some setup changes to get it working better.

You could also look at the Schumacher SST rally tires. They have a pin rear for the rear and a swagger style looking front tire take some of the bite away and make it easier to drive.
Matthew Bauer thanks, looking into that
Fantastic info about the Buggy my friend, fantastic indoor Track, it looks alot off fun , I would love to have ago of a track. Fantastic video, really enjoyed every minute 👍⛄🎅⛄👍
After you spend some quality time on the new surface, I'd be interested in a "carpet vs clay" opinion video explaining the biggest pluses and minuses as you've experienced.
Buttons aren't toys I was thinking of that, as well as a tuning video on the differences
Came across your channel... I race at that same facility all the time! We have most likey crossed paths! So cool. I hit subscribe. :-)
Man I wish I had a track like that near me. Dirt or carpet. Carpet must be nice as it keeps your trucks nice and clean and probably helps with maintenance.
I do like how clean the cars are! Don't have to do anything after I drive 'em, just pack them up and put 'em away until the next day.
just found norcal raceway last saturday. awesome. see you there!!
Looked really good out on that track!
Hahaha that’s Nor-Cal hobbies Wow man I live in the bay too
Looks like it handles the new track layout nicely. I was out there a couple days ago and had a lot of fun with my 22t 4.0 the clay track wheels worked out fine for the moment . What days are you out there would definitely like to meet ya some time . Keep the videos coming !
Looks fun on the track. Nice!
These look like fun little cars.
Jesse B Motors pretty darn fun!
Nice vid bud, yeah the tires have always been an issue with this scale, I've ran every thing from 10th scale touring and rally tires all they way up to 10th scale buggy tires on my mini 8 and most of the 14th scale tires, all change the geometry and just dont truly feel right, always find my self going back to the stock kingpins. Proline did a mod for the mini 8 that incolved cutting and gluing, I would definatley check that vid out if you haven't seen it, with a track like that you need some proper rubber and ride height, then that thing will rip. Just picked my son up a 14b to run with my mini 8, I read all your posts on rc tech forum, will probably be reaching out to you in the future for set up tips/advice.
Nice, yeah finding the right tires seems to be the trick.
The word you're looking for when talking about why the plastic shocks suck is, stiction
Clear the dubby!!! Nice car and track. You're lucky.
awesome buggy! hey razor would you choose this one over the lc racing emb-1 buggy?
I'd love to know. They both seem like really good platforms
Nice. I finally had the chance to try the new track yesterday and I love it. The non clay clean up was awesome too. I have the losi DB 1/14th but all upgraded. Maybe I'll try it on this track too. Merry Christmas buddy
@@williamperri3437 hey Bill, I upgraded almost everything on my buggy. Including the pinion. Hot racing and exotek has lots of upgrades for the DB. Just be careful not to get parts specific for the mini 8ight buggy. The DB is bigger and is the same size as the 8ight truggy. Traxass has a nice upgrade motor and ESC for the DB. I only run on 3s. As for the shocks. I changed the shock oil to 50cst losi to reduce the bounce. Hope this info helps.
Been away from the hobby for 25 years. Bought the T version of this little guy ti get myself a starting point. Dont really know how to se up a car but mine is not a racer just a fun thing for pavement and light dirt. Ive been searching like crazy where can I get the shocks and springs, the little white spacers and that clear film you have on the bottom. I been reading your stuff on RCTech too sorry if i missed anything about those items
Dang! 😱😱 You got that thing driving super nice 👌
Thanks, it's getting there!
Hello Again! Quick question. I picked up the Factory Team 1:14 ANTI-ROLL BAR kit. Have you tried installing them? Did you make a video on it? I can't find installation instruction on Associated's website. Please get back to me.
What do think about the LC12B1? I just built mine and have only had it on the street. Hopefully be on a track soon
Ordering mine tomorrow
That little buggy can boogie! Nice Mods!
Great video, wanted your advise on a new rc car. What are your thoughts on the 1/14th Tacon Soar Buggy? I plan on running the car stock, how would it compare to this reflex 14B stock?
Great tips and track. The little buggy looked good out there 😎👍
Thanks, getting a lot better, just need to get some of the ride height and shocks figured out and I think I'll be good.
Awesome set up..thanks for the info..
You need to show what you used as links in the "Show More". What was wrong with the motor and ESC that came with it?
You go2 that car looking awesome hope I can get mine half easy right keep the great work up
Is that ESC the same as the stock one? Just with more tuning options? And if that's the case, can you mount the ESC and switch in the factor location? Also where did you get the aluminum shocks for it?
great stuff, would you be able to recommend a servo that fits perfect, the one you selected seems to fit fine, I am unable to find a decent servo that fits correctly
Got one of these coming tomorrow, currently building up a set of aluminum shocks for it. Any idea what the size specs are on those white spacers? They fit perfectly. I'd like to print some up so that I can throw them on with the new shocks.
If you had to do this again would you use the same servo?
Did you happen to record top speed on the new motor? I'm interested because its on Amazon for a nice price.
Is there an option part for metal diffs for this car? From my understanding it comes with plastic diffs.
Just got this buggy and want to do the velcro setup for the battery strap. Can you show a picture of how you did it? I have the Lil tiny clips LOL
How did you change the kickup angle?
I’ve watched this video 4 times now. I immediately ordered those tires that you are using. Still looking for those white plastic things you put on the front shocks to keep them from jamming. I noticed that after crashes or flips one or both of them may be jammed tight.
Glad the video helped. Sorry, I don't know where the plastic parts are from, they were just sitting in my parts bin.
I'm pretty sure the Reedy SC300-BL that comes in the 14b is the exact same esc as the Hobbywing Quicrun 16BL30 that you swapped in.
it's the same, except it has the punch level turned down and you can't make any adjustments to it
Just ordered this car and cannot find that motor? Help on where you got it? Great Videos!
Matthew Craig I bought it on eBay. But you’ll have to get a 1/8 bore MOD 0.5 pinion which is hard to find. I am mistakenly using a 48p which is the wrong pitch.
Is this 3600kv?🤔
Does NorCal do any mini scale 1/14 or 1/18 racing now that they have carpet? Do you know of any tracks in Northern CA that run a mini class? I'm closer to Sacramento, and my local track is great, but they only do 1/10.
I need to follow your lead here. I want to convert my REFLEX 14B to indoor carpet. I looked at the Description info but didn’t see the tire maker info.
LC Racing
You Could Make That Jump Man if you get on it! Cmon Man
She goes darn good!! Merry Christmas bro!
like that track, imo carpet is better to run on once my local track moved to dirt i left. The smell of mouldy dirt sucks i cant stand it. Everything is just filthy. I know carpet can be hard on bearings and other issues but i like how much cleaner the off road carpet looks. The indoor track around here has had the same dirt moved around and it looks black from the years of mould and the whole inside of the building and pit area is just dusty and complete filth
Where is this track ?? I’d love to see other videos and races from here...
What diff oils did you use
Wery nice Run😍 what for oil you use Into the shocks and the diffs ?
Heinz Drohne I ran 35w front, 30w rear. Diffs are 5k front, 7k center, 4k rear. But the diffs are not really sealed.
Could you write a list of the upgrades that you did?
You have links on all your upgrades would like to do the same for a indoor carpet track
Which wheels are those?
Nice Track ! Can you clear the double after the floater?
It's hard, I need to get the setup right. I have the buggy set low so it doesn't traction roll, but it chassis slaps pretty easily and tumbles on that second double there. Another day of tuning and I think I should have it.
Great drive! how much KV is the motor btw?
Yoni Cozac thanks, I got the 4700kv
What tires?
That sucks that they switched over to carpet. I just love clay because the surface isn't flat and it's fun having to deal with some pot holes and elevation changes. While all this is, is just flat carpet with some jumps. It would be a little better if they put a little effort into the track. I also bet you lost a lot of good racers. I hope you club stays together.
The racing was getting pretty sparse, so this has actually gotten new people to turn out who don't normally come. We'll see what happens over the next few months.
I agree! The ruts, pot holes, imperfections of dirt can't be added to carpets..... but cars staying clean & new looking, can't beat that! Never raced on carpet either, I'd welcome it
I've raced carpet and I just dont like the feeling of all traction I like breaking loss on clay or dirt. Where I live I have a carpet track indoor clay and outdoor dirt and 15 minutes from me but not in the same place. I just stick to off road
Use the Show More button to give your viewers links to what you used.
Where could I get shocks for it thanks
man I'm so bummed they changed surfaces, hope the channel still stays the same!
Dr_Dingleberry_Brown well, no more indoor clay content for now, but more carpet content!
Omg that thumb
What battery do you run?
I want one of these, but everything I read says the spur gear strips all the time.
I've read that that issue us due to the factory spacing. When I got mine, I checked and it looked fine, and I've now ran through about 10 batteries with no issue so far. You do get an extra sour with the pinion too.
Is it for sale? If so how much
Sorry what tires are them? Thanks.

Where can I find aftermarket parts for this car
www.amainhobbies.com/search?s=reflex+14b
Does this mean new carpet buggies 🤔
Will definitely only be buying carpet versions of race kits for now.

What track?
Nor cal hobbies
@@cwatson42785 Nor Cal went to carpet?
@@pekow91 that's what I'm guessing. Razor is in cali I believe and the banner on thr wall says nor cal hobbies. There is another guy in the comments who says he goes to that same track so he might know better. I was just putting 2+2 but not positive.
yes, it's Nor-cal Hobbies. They went to carpet a week ago.
Where's the dirt? 🤣
underneath the carpet
Stock servo saver can’t be fitted with the savox?
