  • University of Washington President Ana Mari Cauce is calling on a pro-Palestinian student encampment to be dismantled after multiple buildings on the Seattle campus were tagged with what she called "offensive graffiti."
Some of the graffiti was "quite clearly both antisemitic and violent," according to a message from Cauce.
"Much to my dismay, given the relatively cordial tone of many of our discussions, the [encampment] representatives also said the new graffiti is an intentional escalation to compel the University to agree to their demands," Cauce wrote.
Representatives inside the encampment's designated media tent told KING 5 they weren't ready to comment but would likely have a statement on Thursday.

@@DemonDog444 ya, you clearly don’t understand how any of this works. The person screaming about how they are qualified and understand everything is usually the person who knows the least. They aren’t the first people to do this and they won’t be the last, you just think your an expert now because you disagree with them. There is a normal process for this, let it work itself out. You just don’t want the people who disagree with you to feel like they can express their opinion because the points they are making make sense and you would rather they be intimidated to not speak at all.

I think everyone in Seattle should know by now that any form of encampment (outside of permitted, actual campgrounds) never ends well. You have to nip all encampments in the bud early before they fester.

What makes you believe that "there's a lot of paid provocateurs"? Is it that you simply don't want to admit that many of the protestors are actually antisemitic young adults from upper middle class homes that have had a life of privilege, some may even say they have been spoiled. Also, why do you believe "some of them have just lost their minds"? The reality is they may just be stupid, American hating, privileged suburban young men and women. There is no reason to act like they have a mental disorder when the answer may be they are simply stupid and entitled.
Have you ever thought the reason why the UW has been slow to act is due to the fact that the well to do parents would be raising hell if their little Johnny or Suzie was thrown out of school. After all these anti-Semites believe they will be our future leaders.

When this person calls for accountability for the escalation of property damage done by the graffiti, is it safe to presume they are not a bigoted hypocrite and will support a proportional call for accountability for the property damage done in Gaza by Israel? How harsh of a punishment does she believe is correct for 10k children murdered vis-a-vis her outrage at graffiti and buildings "harmed?"
