I played his first signature bass, which was the Peavey Palaedium and I liked it and it was pretty close to the Peavey basses that I still play, the Axcellerator and the Forum which I have as a five.

Uma curiosidade, se não for incômodo; onde você encontrou esse baixo pra vender aqui no Brasil?

I'm so pleased Jeff that you are making this series of vids. I've been a great admirer of your bass playing ever since I bought the Bruford albums in the late seventies and heard your bass playing for the first time. Now it turns out you are a fine teacher too. Thank you.

That is a sweet sounding bass but I believe Jeff would get his beautiful tone on a broomstick and washtub.I find it admirable he uses the production model available to all at a considerably modest price for a quality instrument.Jeff fantastic tone is very fretless sounding which I find so incredible.

Jeff, how much does your bass weigh? How much do you think weight impacts your sound and tone? And are your Bartolini pickups hum. Cancelling or single coil ? I'm SERIOUSLY interested, but for medical reasons my Dr has ordered to avoid any bass over 9 lbs .....

Passionate and funny guy ! And whomever doubts your vast abilities check out 'One of a Kind' by Bill Bruford. The basslines will surely keep you occupied for a while ( as does the timing :) )

Hi, Jeff. Ik bought your bass music reading book (the red one) and looking to buy the other one (the green one). I have a question that I actually sent via the website but due to no answer I contact you via RUclips. If I complete your courses I will be enable (technically and theoretically) to play any kind of music? I am most interested in Latin music like salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia….etc gracias Jeff!

  • @cgrimes72

Do you use flatwound or roundwound strings?

    • @offbeatbassgear
      @offbeatbassgear 6 лет назад +1

Judging by the sound they must be roundwounds. The flats sound a bit more thuddy.

    • @terrywho22

Definitely roundwounds on the bass he's playing in this vid.

Quite surprised about how punchy the front pickup remained, I expected it to be a completely rounded tone.

First of all I don't believe he doesn't think there's a difference in sound between rosewood and ebony fretboards- obviously he does because his other signature models have had ebony, second babics bridges have been around since bad ass bridge's and he seems like the kind of guy who fully researches what's out there- what I'm getting at is he wants to sell lots of basses-ebony is more expensive

Jeff Berlin blocked me on Facebook because I took exception to the way he responded to people who disagreed with his views on music education.
I didn’t use any rude remarks and I wasn’t disrespectful in any way.
In this video and many others he has a real ‘nice guy’ vibe and he seems genuinely interested in helping people.
Why is he so conflicted and even hypocritical in his dealings with others, particularly those that he claims he wants to help?
I hope he resolves this problem in his lifetime because he is a good player.

Who cares about your Facebook problem. Your criticism of him comes from a bad attitude. Do you know him personally? I appreciate the time Jeff takes to make these videos.

Great information on the bass but as a break down of the bass guitar & player he barely does so with the latter...
Im not asking for him to play 20 minutes worth of playing to 10 minutes of talking about this bass guitar but i left watching this none the wiser with regards to the sounds that a passive bass guitar can get as too many of today's basses are predominantly set up with both passive & built in electronics...
Im not saying that bassist needs to lay off onboard built in electronics as we are all are aloud to get the choice of sounds we can get but even a demo barely has any sounds on a passsive bass wouldnt want to see me add even 1 more passive bass guitar ti my already collection of passive bass guitars...
Thank You for the informative side of these bass guitars but a more in depth review with more playing of gentlem and healthy wherever you are in this world...
    ......
