Bill, I haven't seen a 1974 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency since high school. Just like seeing an old friend drop by for a visit. Thank you for showcasing such wonderful cars.

I got my driver's license in 1970 and I certainly recall when these were new. A friend's Mom had a new 73 Delta 4 door. Lime green with green vinyl. It was not garaged and looked terrible in about four years. Anyway this white one is beautiful so it was really maintained and meticulously kept. One observation: It is so nice and so spotless that it just stands out. Back when they were just used cars 90% of them had dirty white walls and unpolished paint. That is what makes this one so fun to see.

Love the story! I am glad you can see how well preserved this car is. Not many made it out of the 70's as well as this one did! lol

We regularly sat 4 across in the back in ours. We calculated 7 MPG with the 7.5 liter / 455 ci engine in mixed driving, on leaded regular. Mom drove this car late 70’s to early 80’s, but Dad did all the car buying and he wouldn’t have anything less than the 455 in those days. Ours was yellow with the same color interior.

    I have a 71 98 Luxury Sedan w/ 13k original miles & I just love it! My 20 year old son & I drove it cross-country last July & she operated flawlessly! It was a gamble…but life’s short & we both love adventure. Besides…that 455 w/ the TH400 is bulletproof.

Amazing interior. Nowadays we talk about soft touch material at key contact points. Look at padding on door panels. Top of door. Where left elbow resides, so soft and plush. Great presentation and one of a kind vehicle. Well done.

Beautiful car from the period. Special place in my memory here. My cousin bought one of these new in 74 and he let me drive it to school a couple of days while he was visiting us. His was the LS Coupe. The car was a dreamboat.

Better than anything you can find new today!!! I’d love to see you get a ‘73 deVille and show it on a video! Lots of similarities between the Olds Ninety Eights and the deVilles! Cadillac hit the jackpot in 1973, turning out their one millionth car! ‘73 had the best deVille model!!!!

Dated a girl who had a ‘76 Olds 98 Regency. I was driving a ‘68 Chrysler New Yorker at the time (late 1980s), and even I had trouble piloting her Oldsmobile. Very mushy handling compared to the Chrysler, though the Olds had a smoother ride. And a very cushy back seat 😜😍

Another mint example that shows how good the cars from that era were.
Now they are expecting us to drive overpriced milk floats!
I am sure that this will be another one that will find a new owner very easily.

I ran across your video this morning and heard you say Competition Cars and was like , Cool. I wish I knew more of the cars history. I know the top had been changed to the 1st gen fastening system.
