One of the most powerful lyrics to me is “the last toes are always the coldest to go.”, representing survival instinct taking over once you’ve leapt, when it’s too late. I’ve always interpreted the drawn out sound at the end of “This Apparatus Must Be Unearthed” as depiction of the moments before impacting the asphalt.
This song has had my frontal lobe for at least a decade, an amazing poet Cedric and now that I know the story behind it...I will add it to the meaning that was in my heart when I first heard the song.
As MattFanOfCats said, search for Electric Ballroom. Although quality varies. Apologies for my previous comment. I thought this was regarding the other video, the one form 2007.
@@essaywhu They were awful when I saw them. Songs were bordering on unrecognizable and the sound was terrible. I could chalk that up to the venue if the headliner didn't sound amazing. I'm sure they put on some great shows somewhere but that wasn't one of them. Sounded like a cross between me and my friends dicking around and what I assume a Phish show is like. I've seen hundreds of artists live across all genres and them, Wu-Tang, and OutKast were hands down the worst.
@@newfoundmoralclarity oh, they weren’t headlining. Yeah, sometimes a band sounds terrible because they aren’t able to soundcheck. As for unrecognizable, they do change a lot of their songs when playing live. Cicatriz Esp becomes a 45 minute jam when they play live, when the original track was 12 1/2 minutes on the record. A lot of people are into that though. I liked them a lot the three or four times I saw them. They did play for almost 4 hours each time I saw them. I do agree with rap groups usually being boring live, although I have seen some that I liked.
@@essaywhu Right on, I'm glad you enjoyed them! Maybe I caught them on a bad night. And I don't mind an extended jam, if the guts of the song are still recognizable and strong, but that's not what I got. Def one of my very favorite artists of the century though and Deloused in particular is extremely high on my all-time albums list.
They would usually practice/play some of their new music in the jam in the middle of their songs. Omar would usually have them all record their parts separately so they often didn’t know how the whole song sounded so they would play the new songs in the middle of their shows.
@@alharrison1038 They were awful live, at least when I saw them. I went to see them open for System of a Down. Was 100% there for TMV. But by the end of the night it felt like a high school garage band had opened for Led Zeppelin.
@@newfoundmoralclarity I agree, seeing them live really shows the amateurish nature of the two of them. I ABSOLUTELY love deloused, but they both not only lack classical understanding of music but shun it, and seeing them live, unable to edit their way to perfection, it really shows.
My biggest regret in life was missing this show.
Heartbreaking. It gets my eyes watery all the time knowing the context.

where did you get this audio/
It's not from any separate source.
They were way cooler and better
To bad they closed down beerfest
One of my favorite bands of the 21st century. Also probably the worst non-rap artist I've ever seen live.
Are you for real? You didn’t like them live?

he sung the 2nd verse before the first on accident and i think that threw him off
No it couldn’t
