MA not Gojira. It sounds totally like a MA song in their prime. The similarity is amazing. I wish all Alkaloid songs were like this. This song cant top Cthulhu for me though
I'm not familiar with Gorguts or Morbid Angel (don't hate, lol), but Gojira I am familiar with. The beginning of this song, for me, definitely has some Gojira in it, mixed with what feels like some Cannibal Corpse to me. Gojira does those harmonics a lot... the higher chord you hear at 0:24 is also something I'd associate with Gojira - sorry, I'm not educated enough to name the type of chord. The opening riffs remind me a bit of The Heaviest Matter in the Universe on From Mars to Sirius, and a little bit of Silvera on Magma. The guitar tone reminds me a lot of Cannibal Corpse, though. Every down stroke is like CRUNCH. Love it.
@@isaacdissonance3967 3? aren't they 2 guitars and a fretless bass (that is possibly a 7 string because linus plays one) edit: nvm, 3 guitars and bass, im just retarded lol
I'm always on the look out for songs like this. I'm familiar with Morbid Angel's stuff and I saw someone on another video recommend Obscura's Ocean Gateways, also fantastic. I know some of Bloodbath's songs have this style as well. Any other recommendations would be welcome.
@@lashedandscorned I actually only REALLY gave Alkaloid and Hannes' solo stuff a proper chance in february-ish of 2021! It took Obscura making Diluvium after their 2 best albums (to me), to push me onto other "side projects", hehe
My absolute FAVORITE Alkaloid song. Like Gorguts playing Gojira. So gooooooood.
More like Gorguts playing Morbid Angel ;)
maybe aesthetically, but I don't really hear Morbid Angel in the riffs. They sound more modern.

this one is also my fav

So many Morbid Angel vibes from 'Where the Slime Lives". What an amazing album and band
Reminds me a lot of Gojira stuff too

The guitar tone on this album is amazing. At the 5:00 mark, damn!
Good lord the solo at 6:18 is perfection!!! what a song!!
This must be the song Morbid Angel always wished they had written.
Ive never heard anything this good..... this is the craziest band that exists.... how is this possibly this crushing?
The fact they are three guitars and their tuning must be the lower spectrum and 7 strings

I hear gorgut, Decapitated, gojira, Deicide... So many influencies but before all a real personality... WTF !!? Amazing.
I know ! Amazing
the best track of the entire LP!!! totally agree with Droban...i can hear some gojira style in this one
Such a crushing tune, it just steamrolls you over! :)
This song just kicks ass!!!

Alleageon? Lol recently I have been listening to all those bands you mentioned then I discover Alkaloid and here I read your comment nice coincidence
If you haven't heard it already, the Opeth song "Master's Apprentices" sounds like this.
gojira early stuff especially their third album
"Beyond the Ninth Wave" and "Of fear and Fury" both by Waylander.
Best thing I've heard in a long time!
One of the heaviest songs ever. That instant drum rull -> BOOM main riff!
...and then there's the build-up (4:11) up to (5:00)!!!
Hello there, we meet once again.
I'm suprised you haven't commented on this video earlier. Like a few years ago, lmao.

I´m no drummer but this song is epic to play air drums to. I bet my neighbours hate the double pedals.
Morbid Angel - Covenant CD and the song God of Emptiness.... check it out and thank me later. A forgotten gem.
Just revisiting this album. Damn, totaly forgot those Morbid Angel Vibes on this one!
Yeah, it's fucking amazing.
Have you heard about the third album? They're hitting the studio sometime this summer.
Morbid Angel through and through... which is a very good thing itself
good song, the riffs are amazing
maybe I deserve a reply? :p

Sound like Morbid Angel. Hear hear Gateways
This is damn sexy!
I thought it was a Gojira song
Does anyone have any tabs for this?
Nice, someone does.
