I had a Subchorionic hemorrhage with my second pregnancy at 32 years old. We were sent to the hospital to have it checked and were told that we were going to miscarry. Do not always believe what you hear. I was very proactive and aggressive and told my doctors that I wanted ultrasounds every week to see what was happening inside. It took about four weeks until it went away but it also then helped us to find a Cystic hygroma on my daughters neck. We were very fortunate and live near John Hopkins University and saw amazing doctors. And by some miracle we had a medical anomaly happen where it just disappeared altogether. So if someone says to you having a sub chronic hemorrhage is going to make you miscarry, it isn’t always true. My beautiful and healthy two year daughter is proof of that.
Yes ,I hd sub chorionic hemorrhage in 6weeks of pregnancy I got brown discharge n bleeding start at 13weeks of pregnancy for 2days. now I'm in 20weeks of pregnancy got anomaly scan baby is alright but placenta is low laying n retro placenta bleed is there so Dr advice to take complete bed rest. I am a sonographer 0:18 and I've seen many of these subchorionic hemorrhage but most of the Times the pregnancy goes to full-term and birth with no problems
I was 53 when I had my last embryo transfer and was diagnosed with a sub chorionic bleed after having noticed vaginal bleeding. My fertility doctor wasn’t too concerned, It resolved on its own and I now have a boisterous 4 month old.

After trying for more than 7 years, my wife got pregnant. she was in her 8 weeks when she saw a blood clot came out without pain, so we rushed out to the ER, and found out that there is a small Subchorionic hematoma. According to what we were told, this could lead to a 50% chance of miscarriage. My wife is really worried, and I try my best to calm her down, so she can have the pregnancy stress free. I’m 7 weeks pregnant and my OB told me they saw a small SCH on my ultrasound and she said it’s common in the first trimester and it may cause spotting but that typically it goes away on its own and doesn’t cause an issue. Still I can’t help but to be a bit worried. I’m praying for a healthy and safe pregnancy. I have 3 other kids and have never had this before.

I started bleeding at 12 weeks, huge blood clots came out, dr said I have a large hematoma. I'm 17 weeks now, the bleeding hasn't stopped but it's not as heavy and it's mostly brown blood. I've had weekly scans done and it still hasn't gotten any smaller but bub is healthy and moves around every time.
Same here. I'm 22 weeks today and the bleeding began at 10 weeks for me. It was heavy and I knew for sure I was miss carrying (passing clots cramping). Baby is still doing well, and for a while I wasn't bleeding. It came back last month and has been off and on since then. I hate that there are no definitive answers for us. We just want healthy babies and peace.

Thank you so much for this! I had an early ultrasound at about 6 weeks pregnant because of bleeding. We got a pretty vague explanation about ´old blood´ being visible and i either could have no more bleeding or i could have more bleeding that could ´destabilise the pregnancy ´. After asking around in a forum it was clear to me she meant a hematoma and i´ve been scared to move or even poop, because of the advise to go about my day but avoid extra pressure on my uterus. Hi I am in my 5th week and Im experiencing light pink vaginal discharge . I went yesterday to my ob and found out that I have SCH and he said nothing to worry about. Give me some medication and vitamins. I know they told me not to worry about it but I can't help it.
I had both burst in both of my pregnancies at about 10 weeks. Both times I was in the bath and it was a lot of blood. I went to the ED and they basically told me it was no big deal but scary nonetheless.

I went to do a ultrasound today just to check the baby and heart beat; my first ultrasound which was a pelvic ultrasound. Im 6 weeks currently and I was not bleeding at all. About 20 mins after the US I started bleeding heavily in the office and was told to go ER right away. The initial US i was said to be perfect and heart beat super strong. Im not sure why I started bleeding right after. To the point my underwear and bottoms were soaked. I had a second outter ultrasound on my stomach and was told they saw a small bleed, but the babys heart beart was still strong n my pelvis cavity n uterus was closed. I was then told they cant do anything to stop the bleed, to rest , and it should slowly go away. However, I was also told this could be a threatened miscarriage. Which is so weird to me because I didnt bleed until that pelvis US and they didnt see bleeding during. It wasnt until after the bleeding came and then was seen on the second ultrasound which was from my stomach. the pelvis is supposedly a better view I would think they would have seen a hematoma or blood in the initial US. When i got home i then passed a blood clot which makes me feel im loosing it. Could a improper pelvis ultrasound sound caused the bleeding, hemorrhage, or miscarriage?? Im so lost and scared here. Can you help me with this?

Same thing happened to me. I lost my baby. Reason why I lost my baby is because I swooped in to protect my living 12 month old who wasn't walking. I grabbed her and took her upstairs away from my mother. I've not let it go in the 3 years it's been since I lost her. I haven't gotten pregnant since. I'm losing hope.

I have one and had one with my daughter, and with my daughter me and my partner had sex and it caused me to bleed heavy and the blood clot came out. , and with my current pregnancy same thing. So I would say maybe in some it won’t cause bleeding, for me it definitely did!, so I would say be very careful✨

I'm sorry for your lost. It happened to me too a few weeks ago. I'm hesitant to go through another pregnancy because of that. Not sure if there is research that shows if we are more at risk to have it again or not.
I am in my 8th week. It's my first pregnancy. Since the 7th week I am bleeding. Right after we found out the good news. I am not able to be happy or sad. Just scheduled my OB appointment in 4 days. My bleeding started brown and mild. It's been 4 days, today it's become heavy. It's so scary and confusing. I am having no clots with the bleed. Which makes me think I am still pregnant. But the increase in bleeding makes me anxious! Argh 4 more days until I get my answers.
Thank you for your demonstration that EBM is the only medicine that can be accepted nowadays. Here in Italy there are still many steps forward to be made. A 21*19mm “detachment area” was found on my ultrasound at 5+4 (after frozen blastocyst transfer) after a slight bleeding. Some physicians advised me to bed rest, others to home rest. I was wandering if, given the lack of evidence about the efficacy of bed rest and considering the other two items of EBM, ie the clinical expertise and patient values, there are cases where you advise your patients to rest. Unfortunately, I have no way of dealing with my physicians in this way. Your answer would help me a lot. Thanks again

Dude...Dr............thank you........... Sitting here with my second SubH out of my 4 pregnancies and this bleeding is worse than with my second child, who is fine btw. I've had to look up some things on my own because of little info given to me about this. But I am always told to be on pelvic rest, so I have been avoiding lots of movement or carrying things etc. because it seems like I bleed after a certain level of activity. I have been wondering what causes this thing, so seeing that it's developed naturally and that there could be multiple pockets of blood that leak out is enlightening and amazing! I def thought it was just one- my sister and I were just like is there like an open flow of blood here or just the one pod of blood like in my ultrasound?? So thanks for all of this!
At 7weeks, I had subchorionic hemorrhage though it says minimal, I did everything, Stay healthy, eat healthy and rest...Still I had miscarriage 2days ago.. My baby's heartbeat stopped..... I am very confuse what caused the heartbeat stopped... I have like very light tiny spotting just for a day, then it followed after week I saw a dark red spot, after that I just continue to rest and take the medication.. After a week, it was the 9th week to be exact, I noticed brown discharge, after 2hrs I started bleeding... Found out that the baby's heartbeat stopped and also it stopped developing at 7weeks... And as its something that does not happen very often, there is also very limit information about this on the internet. I had large SCH at 8.1 weeks (doctor said that the SCH on the back wall of the uterus and baby attached to the front wall perfectly without any signs of abruption), baby was fine and strong heartbeat 178, a week later i had another US to monitor SCH (still was there but got smaller) and baby got bigger 9.4 weeks and strong heart beat 175...but sadly i had miscarriage next day!
My gynecologist saw a hematoma from my ultra sound 7weeks of pregnancy and gave me suppository Utrogestan for 2 weeks and now its been 9weeks the hematoma become smaller, she still advice to continue bed rest. It shows that my baby hasa small subchorionic hemorrhage. When I took those results to my dr,she didn't mention anything about it, but registering today for the d&c surgery, the nurse Point it out for me. My dr didn't give me answers why my baby stopped living. I am thinking it could be bc of this hemorrhage. I was taking baby aspirin 81mg. I don't know what to think. I'm actively looking for answers about this for my next pregnancy.
I have a septater uterus removed years ago. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant Thurs I had some excessive bleeding. Friday I went to get an ultrasound the baby had a good heart rate the bleeding slowed down. Monday, today I passed a big blood clot and started bleeding excessively again. I was told my right side was bleeding and the baby looked fine on Friday. Today I am not so sure the baby is fine and all I get told is to rest my pelvis. I am not sure if I miscarried yet. I have filled heavy pads up with no cramping. The ultrasound showed hemorrhagic debris but I do not get a clear answer if there’s stuff that’s supposed to come out or if I’m miscarrying

I bled heavily at 8 weeks, SCH was identified in scan (150% the size of baby so large). Rested as much as possible alongside working from home/ needing to cook & wash clothes etc. Then bled heavily on & off for 6 weeks, including huge number of large blood clots on two occasions. Every time I assumed the worst but baby was fine, kicking around on scan 🧡. Clot didn’t shrink despite losing so much blood, in fact it got larger. At 14 weeks I went in to labour and we lost our little boy as the blood clot pulled the placenta away 💔😢 I desperately wish I’d done more to protect him but from everything I’ve read it seems nobody knows why they happen, not much you can do to resolve & that the odds are better the larger the baby is relative to the clot (i.e. if clot is less than 50% size of baby one study showed more chance of a positive outcome). I was prescribed progesterone at week 12 in attempt to keep cervix closed (worth trying I guess) but reading the studies this doesn’t seem to influence outcome unless you’ve had three or more miscarriages in the past. For those needing hope, two friends had SCH, identified around week 8 due to heavy bleeding and they both went on to have healthy little boys 🩵 Best wishes to everyone going through this, I hope your clots shrink & reabsorb so you can have a smooth rest of pregnancy 🙏🏼 ✨ I know the uncertainty/ waiting/ worrying/ wondering can be exhausting 😞 xx

Doc, I've experiencing SCH today , it was seen in my ultrasound ..I am 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant..the heartbeat is good ...The OB recommended me to take progesterone 200mg (inserted in vagina) Is it okay if I stop it in just 3 days ?OB recommended it 7 days.Thank you.God bless.
I got heavy bleeding on 10 days before, inside baby was normal...but bleeding is persistent light bleeding .my doctor suggested me to take pause ,progesterone and HCG supplement.. complete bed rest...im feeling soo sick. ..

When I was 7 weeks and 6 days , i got diagnosed with minimal subchrionic bleeding, and i hope this will go away soon but i dont experience spotting at all. My next check up on jan 14 i hope everything is fine now.

Im 21 weeks completed my anamoly scan baby is fine and heart rate is good. But i bleed often these days. Like in this month i bled twice that too it looked very bright red blood. The bleeding was not heavy or painful but it happened. My scans show no sign of a blood clot or any. My gynac gave me progesterone but i skipped them for three days. Im not sure what's happening 😢

I was found APS and was out on aspirin and clexane injections since found pregnant. Then have had light vaginal bleeding and found subchorianic bleed on US since week 7. Now week 10, the haemorrhage on US appears to have enlarged. Aspirin now stopped. Should clexane be stopped as well?

Yes ,I hd sub chorionic hemorrhage in 6weeks of pregnancy I got brown discharge n bleeding start at 13weeks of pregnancy for 2days. now I'm in 20weeks of pregnancy got anomaly scan baby is alright but placenta is low laying n retro placenta bleed is there so Dr advice to take complete bed rest.

I am a sonographer 0:18 and I've seen many of these subchorionic hemorrhage but most of the Times the pregnancy goes to full-term and birth with no problems
I was 53 when I had my last embryo transfer and was diagnosed with a sub chorionic bleed after having noticed vaginal bleeding. My fertility doctor wasn’t too concerned, It resolved on its own and I now have a boisterous 4 month old.

After trying for more than 7 years, my wife got pregnant. she was in her 8 weeks when she saw a blood clot came out without pain, so we rushed out to the ER, and found out that there is a small Subchorionic hematoma. According to what we were told, this could lead to a 50% chance of miscarriage. My wife is really worried, and I try my best to calm her down, so she can have the pregnancy stress free. In the mid- time I am making my own search to see how to avoid any miscarriage scenario. I am glad that I watched your video and it is definitely helpful. Thank so much

I’m 7 weeks pregnant and my OB told me they saw a small SCH on my ultrasound and she said it’s common in the first trimester and it may cause spotting but that typically it goes away on its own and doesn’t cause an issue. Still I can’t help but to be a bit worried. I’m praying for a healthy and safe pregnancy. I have 3 other kids and have never had this before.

I have this problem and i am 25 Y old and i gave birth to two girls and nothing happened my doc told me to do abortion but i didnt listen to anyone and i am so proud that today i have my twoo princesses
I started bleeding at 12 weeks, huge blood clots came out, dr said I have a large hematoma. I'm 17 weeks now, the bleeding hasn't stopped but it's not as heavy and it's mostly brown blood. I've had weekly scans done and it still hasn't gotten any smaller but bub is healthy and moves around every time.

Same here. I'm 22 weeks today and the bleeding began at 10 weeks for me. It was heavy and I knew for sure I was miss carrying (passing clots cramping). Baby is still doing well, and for a while I wasn't bleeding. It came back last month and has been off and on since then. I hate that there are no definitive answers for us. We just want healthy babies and peace.

Thank you so much for this! I had an early ultrasound at about 6 weeks pregnant because of bleeding. We got a pretty vague explanation about ´old blood´ being visible and i either could have no more bleeding or i could have more bleeding that could ´destabilise the pregnancy ´. After asking around in a forum it was clear to me she meant a hematoma and i´ve been scared to move or even poop, because of the advise to go about my day but avoid extra pressure on my uterus. Now i feel a little bit more at ease. Thank you so so much for this!

I was diagnosed with this during an ultrasound, I dont have any vaginal bleeding, I am 8 weeks 4 days but my doctor recommends bedrest,no sex, and limited activity. I have had previous miscarriages. However I had this with my son who is 6 year old now and everything had worked out. I am praying this one does too.

Hi I am in my 5th week and Im experiencing light pink vaginal discharge . I went yesterday to my ob and found out that I have SCH and he said nothing to worry about. Give me some medication and vitamins. I know they told me not to worry about it but I can't help it.

I had both burst in both of my pregnancies at about 10 weeks. Both times I was in the bath and it was a lot of blood. I went to the ED and they basically told me it was no big deal but scary nonetheless.

I went to do a ultrasound today just to check the baby and heart beat; my first ultrasound which was a pelvic ultrasound. Im 6 weeks currently and I was not bleeding at all. About 20 mins after the US I started bleeding heavily in the office and was told to go ER right away. The initial US i was said to be perfect and heart beat super strong. Im not sure why I started bleeding right after. To the point my underwear and bottoms were soaked. I had a second outter ultrasound on my stomach and was told they saw a small bleed, but the babys heart beart was still strong n my pelvis cavity n uterus was closed. I was then told they cant do anything to stop the bleed, to rest , and it should slowly go away. However, I was also told this could be a threatened miscarriage. Which is so weird to me because I didnt bleed until that pelvis US and they didnt see bleeding during. It wasnt until after the bleeding came and then was seen on the second ultrasound which was from my stomach. the pelvis is supposedly a better view I would think they would have seen a hematoma or blood in the initial US. When i got home i then passed a blood clot which makes me feel im loosing it. Could a improper pelvis ultrasound sound caused the bleeding, hemorrhage, or miscarriage?? Im so lost and scared here. Can you help me with this?

Same thing happened to me. I lost my baby. Reason why I lost my baby is because I swooped in to protect my living 12 month old who wasn't walking. I grabbed her and took her upstairs away from my mother. I've not let it go in the 3 years it's been since I lost her. I haven't gotten pregnant since. I'm losing hope.

I just got diagnosed with this and I was so terrified, I haven’t been able to stop thinking I’m loosing my baby. Thank you for the explanation, I thought it was be lifting up my toddler to the bed to change him after bathing him. I now have him use a stool to get up so I can reach him better.
He says that is unlikely. My wife just miscarried from this. She says she lifted our two year old up to the shopping cart the day it happened.

I'm sorry for your lost. It happened to me too a few weeks ago. I'm hesitant to go through another pregnancy because of that. Not sure if there is research that shows if we are more at risk to have it again or not.
I am in my 8th week. It's my first pregnancy. Since the 7th week I am bleeding. Right after we found out the good news. I am not able to be happy or sad. Just scheduled my OB appointment in 4 days. My bleeding started brown and mild. It's been 4 days, today it's become heavy. It's so scary and confusing. I am having no clots with the bleed. Which makes me think I am still pregnant. But the increase in bleeding makes me anxious! Argh 4 more days until I get my answers.
Thank you for your demonstration that EBM is the only medicine that can be accepted nowadays. Here in Italy there are still many steps forward to be made. A 21*19mm “detachment area” was found on my ultrasound at 5+4 (after frozen blastocyst transfer) after a slight bleeding. Some physicians advised me to bed rest, others to home rest. I was wandering if, given the lack of evidence about the efficacy of bed rest and considering the other two items of EBM, ie the clinical expertise and patient values, there are cases where you advise your patients to rest. Unfortunately, I have no way of dealing with my physicians in this way. Your answer would help me a lot. Thanks again

Dude...Dr............thank you........... Sitting here with my second SubH out of my 4 pregnancies and this bleeding is worse than with my second child, who is fine btw. I've had to look up some things on my own because of little info given to me about this. But I am always told to be on pelvic rest, so I have been avoiding lots of movement or carrying things etc. because it seems like I bleed after a certain level of activity. I have been wondering what causes this thing, so seeing that it's developed naturally and that there could be multiple pockets of blood that leak out is enlightening and amazing! I def thought it was just one- my sister and I were just like is there like an open flow of blood here or just the one pod of blood like in my ultrasound?? So thanks for all of this!
At 7weeks, I had subchorionic hemorrhage though it says minimal, I did everything, Stay healthy, eat healthy and rest...Still I had miscarriage 2days ago.. My baby's heartbeat stopped..... I am very confuse what caused the heartbeat stopped... I have like very light tiny spotting just for a day, then it followed after week I saw a dark red spot, after that I just continue to rest and take the medication.. After a week, it was the 9th week to be exact, I noticed brown discharge, after 2hrs I started bleeding... Found out that the baby's heartbeat stopped and also it stopped developing at 7weeks... I am still looking for answers...

If there is something i can do to prevent it? I had large SCH at 8.1 weeks (doctor said that the SCH on the back wall of the uterus and baby attached to the front wall perfectly without any signs of abruption), baby was fine and strong heartbeat 178, a week later i had another US to monitor SCH (still was there but got smaller) and baby got bigger 9.4 weeks and strong heart beat 175...but sadly i had miscarriage next day!
My gynecologist saw a hematoma from my ultra sound 7weeks of pregnancy and gave me suppository Utrogestan for 2 weeks and now its been 9weeks the hematoma become smaller, she still advice to continue bed rest. My question is, it really necessarily to bed rest when it comes to this.situation?

It shows that my baby hasa small subchorionic hemorrhage. When I took those results to my dr,she didn't mention anything about it, but registering today for the d&c surgery, the nurse Point it out for me. My dr didn't give me answers why my baby stopped living. I am thinking it could be bc of this hemorrhage. I was taking baby aspirin 81mg. I don't know what to think. I have a septater uterus removed years ago. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant Thurs I had some excessive bleeding. Friday I went to get an ultrasound the baby had a good heart rate the bleeding slowed down. Monday, today I passed a big blood clot and started bleeding excessively again. I was told my right side was bleeding and the baby looked fine on Friday. Today I am not so sure the baby is fine and all I get told is to rest my pelvis. I am not sure if I miscarried yet. I have filled heavy pads up with no cramping. The ultrasound showed hemorrhagic debris but I do not get a clear answer if there’s stuff that’s supposed to come out or if I’m miscarrying

Then bled heavily on & off for 6 weeks, including huge number of large blood clots on two occasions. Every time I assumed the worst but baby was fine, kicking around on scan 🧡. Clot didn’t shrink despite losing so much blood, in fact it got larger.
At 14 weeks I went in to labour and we lost our little boy as the blood clot pulled the placenta away 💔😢
I desperately wish I’d done more to protect him but from everything I’ve read it seems nobody knows why they happen, not much you can do to resolve & that the odds are better the larger the baby is relative to the clot (i.e. if clot is less than 50% size of baby one study showed more chance of a positive outcome).
I was prescribed progesterone at week 12 in attempt to keep cervix closed (worth trying I guess) but reading the studies this doesn’t seem to influence outcome unless you’ve had three or more miscarriages in the past.
For those needing hope, two friends had SCH, identified around week 8 due to heavy bleeding and they both went on to have healthy little boys 🩵

I am seven weeks pregnant. I was at the hospital because I had a hematoma at first at 7.46cc, suddenly it became 12.08cc. I was so scared that my ob put me on bed rest and gave me medicines but I didn't bleed since I got pregnant. Doc, I've experiencing SCH today , it was seen in my ultrasound ..I am 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant..the heartbeat is good ...The OB recommended me to take progesterone 200mg (inserted in vagina) Is it okay if I stop it in just 3 days ?OB recommended it 7 days.Thank you.God bless.

I got heavy bleeding on 10 days before, inside baby was normal...but bleeding is persistent light bleeding .my doctor suggested me to take pause ,progesterone and HCG supplement.. complete bed rest...im feeling soo sick. ..
Regarding taking progesterone or hCG... please watch the video again and pay attention to the part where I say "There is no treatment for a subchorionic bleed"

When I was 7 weeks and 6 days , i got diagnosed with minimal subchrionic bleeding, and i hope this will go away soon but i dont experience spotting at all. My next check up on jan 14 i hope everything is fine now.

Im 21 weeks completed my anamoly scan baby is fine and heart rate is good. But i bleed often these days. Like in this month i bled twice that too it looked very bright red blood. The bleeding was not heavy or painful but it happened. My scans show no sign of a blood clot or any. My gynac gave me progesterone but i skipped them for three days. Im not sure what's happening 😢

Hello Dr, i am 6 w pregnant , i ve had 2 miscarriages( one clinical one biochemical) so i started taking aspirin. I ve had some brown discharge and the doctor discovered a subhorrionic bleed. He told me to rest and take aspirin one in two days, but i m worried that it could worsen the bleed. I only had brown discharge once 2 days ago. It has stopped since. I was found APS and was out on aspirin and clexane injections since found pregnant. Then have had light vaginal bleeding and found subchorianic bleed on US since week 7. Now week 10, the haemorrhage on US appears to have enlarged. Aspirin now stopped. Should clexane be stopped as well?
