One of the joys of VR is that, since it doesn't make nearly as much money as flatscreen. Most of the developers/publishers who develop for the medium are actually passionate about the medium and their craft
Oh yeah. I love Anton Hand. He talks about going on range trips and getting to fire them in person to get a feel of how they act in-game and is always developing. I don't have VR, but I still watch the dev-log.
What makes that whole thing even funnier, is people try to excuse it as like "Oh his hands are too big to use it normally." But he takes his guns off dead enemies.... so the pump action MP5 is just Guardian Units of Nations (G.U.N) standard issue. Edit: corrected the full name and added the acronym.
Funny that you mentioned how good the thermals are, because anton, the game dev, just finalized spending several MONTHS working on them, on his channel he breaks down week by week his progress, its amazing how dedicated he is to it
Let's not sleep on Ole's contributions to that. It seems he put a ton of work into making the optics, nightvision, and thermals the most accurate representation of optics almost anywhere. The burn-in and auto-gating are examples of that dedication to verisimilitude, but scopes have chromatic aberration, accurate eye relief...it's wild.
Don't forget the contributions of the modding community too, Anton said that thermals and night vision would be impossible to implement without overhauling basically everything in the game but modders were able to make very high quality night vision and thermal mods that helped pave the way

40:25 He actually originally planned to add the framerate, but found that for your average joe in VR it caused severe motion sickness, so decided to have it remain at the HMD framerate.

@@void_creature in my experience, it's very inconvenient to cycle it using the gun left handed. when it's on the bench it's fine, except you sometimes will smack your own face, but overall it even has some advantages (some right-handed weirdos even use their non-dominant hand to reach around and cycle because it allows them to keep holding the gun). but the problem is standing, since you need to use your support hand to cycle the bolt, and it's very uncomfortable, slower, and will make you lose the target.

@danilooliveira6580 I just got it and it's sooo good. Except noone wants to play the game they just sit in the lobby and kill each other. The new update has made it easier to find other people tho
Having played this game for a very long time, seeing how far Anton has come with it, it is amazing. Also the cursed guns are just the cherry on top. Also also, seeing one of my favorite content creators cover this game, that I love so much, is so so amazing! Thank you so much Drewski!!
Fun fact about that thermal framerate thing: This game actually used to simulate that as well, in one of the experimental versions, but it made people think their actual VR-headset was lagging, so they removed it.
@23:00 This works for some guns in the game, especially ones where the chamber is more "open". Most of the semi-auto pistols will do it, including the Deag and the M1911 (if you want to re-enact ASAC Hank Schrader dropping a single round into his 1911 to kill the second Salamanca twin in Breaking Bad.)
Absolutely love this game. Forget wasting money at the range. Just simulate going to an uncharted spot in the Yuma Proving Grounds and spend zero dollars literally blowing stuff up with a hip-fired Mk.19. 😂😂😂
@danilooliveira6580 indeed that is the only aspect missing that could complete the experience. I've bathed in enough CLP and TW25 though, that the smell just magically wafts through my nostrils whenever I boot the game up.

The QBZ, Vector, L85a2 and other mostly bullpup guns don’t have the safety/fire selector in a reachable place with ur right hand. Go to the back of the gun with ur left to find the controls
The L85 has the safety just above the trigger. Easily reachable with either hand. The selector is at the rear. It was very deliberately put there to be quick to flip off and positive to engage, as the Brits train to use the safety way more than most. The safety is arguably easier to use than an ARs.
From a mechanical standpoint, I take great offense to the statement that the _virgin RPD_ is in any way superior to the *Gigachad Ultimax.* It utilizes "constant recoil" in which the bolt never contacts the rear of the receiver, and it was designed by Jim Sullivan, for god's sake.
Do you have VR? Honestly, this game would make for an excellent video with you going through the mechanics on some of the guns, more of that stuff is simulated in-game than you'd think even from this video.
Worth noting that this is one of maybe 2 guns that works that way along with the L85, all the others just bind it to the same button. I get why he did it that way but it's a little counter-intuitive.

11:27 Ah, my countrymen at work (South Africa) - the NTW20. I know everyone sees it as the Halo gun, but it's also (briefly) in District 9, where the a guy manages to get a round off into the 'prawn' mech suit the protagonist Wikus is wearing, before being summarily disintegrated by said mech suit. It is a real gun though. 20mm anti material. Forgotten Weapons had an episode on it (including firing it).
3:32 Remember the old firing ports on Bradleys? Edit: Thank you ChatGPT, very cool. 15:54 Artillery Luger 25:03 Same, I've loved the look of it since Battlefield 2!
17:08 I have no idea how shell ejection gets affected by suppressors but here it looked as if they were going a bit more high than with the suppressor?
If there's more back pressure in the system, the bolt comes back faster, which causes the cases to hit the brass deflector harder, which tends to send them flying more forward, it's less about the height of the ejection and more about the pattern, whether they're coming out at 4 o'clock or 2 o'clock
He may not have modelled the gas pressure for the shell ejection but I was playing TnH mode where you get random guns and ammo one day and rolled a Benelli M4 and Dragon's Breath rounds. The thing wouldn't cycle, had to be manually loaded every time. I thought it was a bug until I had a theory and dropped in a 00 round and it fired and cycled fine. Dragon's Breath doesn't have pressure enough to cycle a semi auto shotgun AND HE ACCOUNTED FOR THAT. The detail is abusrd. I love it so much. I've got about 500 hours into it. That was like three years ago and he's added infinite more details and quality enhancements since then.
20:35 I gotchu homie. This is just a stock Tactical Solutions X-Ring VR Takedown, and I can confirm that it is a great 10/22, although I like my Volquartson better personally. Edit: Piney Mountain (based in Texas) makes red and green .22 LR tracer, also, can confirm that they are probably the best option when it comes to .22 LR tracers, if you can find them. Being in Texas you shouldn't have too tough of a time I wouldn't think.
Instantly recognized the 10/22 takedown, absolutely love mine but it has some trouble cycling when the 25 round mag is full (fully stock guns with oem bx-25s) any experience with such issues?
I’ve been playing H3VR for a few years now. I highly recommend the supply raid mods if you enjoy a longer form tarkov style play. Loot. Die. Repeat. And cannot give enough praise to the arcade style take and hold. Stay tuned for contract griller coming soon.
Adding the Jam and Malfunction mods are also awesome. Nothing like a fight against sausages while your gun stovepipes then you reload but dont tap the mag in enough so you gotta figure that out... Love this game.
Man I love seeing you hop into one of my favourite VR games of all time! It's genuinely such a love letter to everything from real historical firearms development, to weird experiments, to videos games, to TV and movies, to memes. I can't wait for you to get to the point to modding the game as well because DAMN the modding community is one of the best I've ever seen. I'd love to see you try out the multiplayer co op mod, called H3MP, that might send you over the edge lmao. On the topic of VR/flatscreen games, I'd love to see you get a bunch of your homies into a campaign of Carrier Command 2 some day as well. Way too cool of a game to have so little coverage on RUclips.
It gets even wilder with H3 mods; they go from realistic but in-depth stuff like Modul AR2 for custom AR15 builds, to adding stuff that was never originally part of the game like fighter jets and tanks lol.
Drewski something about your videos really satisfies my adhd, theres enough flow to keep it coherent but jumps around enough that i can actually pay attention
17:09 I'm expecting Anton to offhandedly mention in a future devlog that he fixed this by adding a whole fluid dynamic gas system simulation over the course of 48 sleepless hours.
@@vitaliyivahiv7245 for that one to be fair, thats what you usualy use an ice pick for, also if you do it right you can throw yourself up ladders and land on the top (i didnt catch the icepick part btw)
Drewski is so much better than Karmakut. For one, he realizes that he's playing video games and isn't actually a Sgt. Major in a war. He has a sense of humor, too - which makes his absurd moments funnier. A really great way to pass time. Thank you, Drew!
Upcoming update almost guaranteed to change the ejection angle of suppressed guns. Anton is a perfectionist in the best way, he will re-do an entire system just to fix the smallest of problems and give you a full devlog of the entire process.
This is by far my favorite VR game alongside VTOL VR. The amount of detail is unbelievable. But if you think that's good try mods. There are so mhch fun to be had with stuff like Magboop which adds the mexhanic of improperly seated mags and you sometimes have to bump it in and Stovepipe which adds malfunctions like double feed or failure to eject. You can add guns from Call of Duty or Payday or have guns that you have to build out from scratch When I saw Anton (developer) add NODs to the game I've been waiting for Drewski to make a video
When I was a Bradley guy, I loved that m231. Regarding the MK12 the Mod 1 was the best in Afghanistan. I could pack out 11 or 12 mags of 77 grain. In my opinion way better than carrying 7.62x51.
I guarantee that is Anton Hand (the developer) watches this, he will implement a different case ejection pattern depending on whether or not there's more back pressure from a suppressor.
Yeah, it's very clear Drewski actually keeps up with the game's development and watches the devlogs. Even namedrops Anton, so he definitely keeps informed about it.
I cannot convey how happy I am to see someone with your audience cover this gem of a game, because it means that more people are gonna see it and hopefully some will even buy a copy which helps Anton keep developing
Bruh kicked flipped his 50 cal Barret mid intro, caught it and continued on like nothing happend 😂 even in VR thats some solid hand eye coordination/reflex
The artist who made quite a few of the guns in this game also made quite a few of the guns for fallout mods, that means that the hecate in this game is the same exact model as the F4NV anti material mod which is also the model that was backported as a mod to new vegas which you used in your footage. which means you used the same anti material model in both games. Source: I'm on the F4NV mod dev team, bro trust me.
22:11 Fun gun fact Drew both 5.56/.223 and 22 are the same spec as for the saaami requirements for 22lr at it's nominal soze os .225 but has a variance of .222-.225 in diameter and with the right conversion kit you can fire .22lr through a normal ar15 the kit I use is the CMMG Bravo Conversion kit.
I'm sorry, but I have to be this guy as least once in my life. 39:37 "That's what she said!". The door's over there? I'll see myself out... This "game" has been a godsend for me. As a firearms deprived Australian, it's allowed me to play with some legendary guns, including Lee Enfield rifles. I will be playing this for years to come, possibly even decades...
With all the invasive fauna in the US, having a 50 BMG for home defense might come in handy. You never know when a 6-meter nile crocodile will come-a-knocking in the dead of night.
some of these guns ended up in a video featuring Jonathan Ferguson reviewing how cursed they are. The pump-action MP5 was especially devastating for the guy. Should be the 2024 April Fools video, if anyone is interested.
I just bought this game and I really enjoy it, I would have never found it if it weren’t for you, thanks a lot for informing me that game like this exist at a fairly low price
You checked out the game at the right time the developer has completed the thermal and night vision features. They're the coolest thing he's ever implemented, years ago he said this was impossible. Turns out time is the best seasoning of skill and experience.
I have always dreamed of a owning or building (legally of course) a port gun. Oddly a lot of people look at me like Im nuts when I try to explain that its an M16 that's open bolt and runs at 1200rpm. This game is literally what made me buy a VR headset. My gun buddies will spend hours in it and not even realize. The survival mode on random is a ton of fun with all the random guns you have to use.
Been playing H3 since the start of 2019. It has been amazingly fun the whole time and it only gets better with each update! It is of my opinion that this game is horrifically under-rated.
youve gotta try some of the other gamemodes, and definitely download some custom weapon and map mods eventually. Theres a Bar/Rostok Map for the Take and Hold gamemode, which I'm positive you would enjoy. would love to see more:3

Very cool, may grab this to replace my old default ruger plastic stock!
Instantly recognized the 10/22 takedown, absolutely love mine but it has some trouble cycling when the 25 round mag is full (fully stock guns with oem bx-25s) any experience with such issues?
0:56 omg he said the thing
quick soundcheck!
Wonderful! 🙂↕️
I’ve been playing H3VR for a few years now. I highly recommend the supply raid mods if you enjoy a longer form tarkov style play. Loot. Die. Repeat. And cannot give enough praise to the arcade style take and hold. Stay tuned for contract griller coming soon.
Especially with mods it is fucking STUPID how fun and realistic this game is. One of my favorite games out there.
18:12 lol he couldn’t find the horribly placed safety
im blind as fk where is it ? LOL
@@nathanmitchell7961 Behind the mag on the left side.
Its on the stock
@@nathanmitchell7961 it’s not you, it’s the crack smoking engineers. They moved the safety above the trigger for the 95B version
13:03 I think it's modeled after one of KommanderKarl's "Cursed reolad" videos
Fun fact, KommanderKarl is one of the people who have worked on the game!
'We got the Sam Fisher loadout!'
Come one, Drewski. Metal Gear Solid was the first with the SOCOM to popularize it as a stealth sidearm.
The Famas was also highly popularized by Metal Gear as well!
plus sam has a 5.7
It gets even wilder with H3 mods; they go from realistic but in-depth stuff like Modul AR2 for custom AR15 builds, to adding stuff that was never originally part of the game like fighter jets and tanks lol.
18:59 Fun fact: The reason that thing exists is due to code it is physically impossible for him to add a left handed bolt, neat!
Drewski something about your videos really satisfies my adhd, theres enough flow to keep it coherent but jumps around enough that i can actually pay attention
The fact that you mentioned kentucky ballistics before your own brother is so funny to me for some reason
No one mentioning that the range is a straight up ripoff of Hickock45's personal range is what got me.
17:09 I'm expecting Anton to offhandedly mention in a future devlog that he fixed this by adding a whole fluid dynamic gas system simulation over the course of 48 sleepless hours.
BRO I HAVE 55+ HOURS IN THE GAME AND JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THE SCOPE STABALIZATION, AND I HIT A 400M TARGET WHILE TIRED, MY GUY THANK YOU
Same for me dude. Got 95+ hours and never new icepick can be used like that. All this time I thought it was just another melee weapon
Drewski playing hotdogs and horseshoes? What a treat!
Upcoming update almost guaranteed to change the ejection angle of suppressed guns. Anton is a perfectionist in the best way, he will re-do an entire system just to fix the smallest of problems and give you a full devlog of the entire process.
At one point, the head-mounted thermals did have the frame rate limitation, but it was removed as it was found to be incredibly nauseating
You can add guns from Call of Duty or Payday or have guns that you have to build out from scratch
When I saw Anton (developer) add NODs to the game I've been waiting for Drewski to make a video
When I was a Bradley guy, I loved that m231. Regarding the MK12 the Mod 1 was the best in Afghanistan. I could pack out 11 or 12 mags of 77 grain. In my opinion way better than carrying 7.62x51.
@7:38 Drew says Kentucky Ballistics before Demolition Ranch.
Matt: "What?!"
Scott: "HA!"
I guarantee that is Anton Hand (the developer) watches this, he will implement a different case ejection pattern depending on whether or not there's more back pressure from a suppressor.
0:55, "the accuracy is just WONDERFUL" Drewski got possessed by Anton for a split second there
Finally a RUclipsr that can show off H3VR without making me scream at what they’re missing!
H3VR is where *men* become *Children*
(Once again we learn what pure unfiltered fun and imagination is)
Bruh kicked flipped his 50 cal Barret mid intro, caught it and continued on like nothing happend 😂 even in VR thats some solid hand eye coordination/reflex
The voice lines alone are pure dedication!
I have played this game for 300 hours. The guns in this game are the best in any vr game. Great game and great video!
You can also blow the hinges off of the door and the locking mechanism is actually functional.
I will be playing this for years to come, possibly even decades...
bro finally made a video on this game, literally the best vr simulation game
15:07 its called an mp5 shadow because in one of the sonic games they gave shadow an mp5 that works like that
With all the invasive fauna in the US, having a 50 BMG for home defense might come in handy.
The best part of H3VR is that you can live your fantasy of not abiding gun safety
NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE!
Please post more of this! Loved your first video on it, watched it WAAAAY more than I’d like to admit.
18:40 "In typical Chinese Fashion, the product is broken."
I just bought this game and I really enjoy it, I would have never found it if it weren’t for you, thanks a lot for informing me that game like this exist at a fairly low price
3:49 it’s the Patriot from Metal Gear Solid
You checked out the game at the right time the developer has completed the thermal and night vision features. They're the coolest thing he's ever implemented, years ago he said this was impossible. Turns out time is the best seasoning of skill and experience.
1:58 Oh look, Elbonias new special forces rifle!
Silly you. That's their carbine for stealthy wetworks.
El Heffe's creaming his pants just looking at it
Thank you for playing my favorite VR game, I've been waiting for this moment for 5 years
I conceal carry my bloop toob, break action so super reliable, can't beat the stopping power and even can stop vehicles.
Have you heard of Tactical Assault Vr? If not it is your type of game.
Hello! Left handed shooter here with 3 Mosins, I suck it up and use my right hand to cycle the bolt because I don’t want to ruin the design
29:00 zero dark glizzy
He doesn't know the "MP5 Shadow" is a reference to Shadow The Hedgehog's MP5
11:59 I wish they made the NTW 20 in .50 .... Oh wait (Screams in battlefield)
The modding community for H3 is amazing. They even added multiplayer support. Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone to play with…
You
21:15 i've been playing this game for nearly 2 years and I still didn't know this feature until now...
it is a relatively new feature
I was about a year into playing it before I realized it too. :)
Been playing H3 since the start of 2019. It has been amazingly fun the whole time and it only gets better with each update! It is of my opinion that this game is horrifically under-rated.
You should try the stovepipe mod, it adds malfunctions. Also magboop, potatoe’s realistic mag handling (I forget the exact name) and ModulAR2
youve gotta try some of the other gamemodes, and definitely download some custom weapon and map mods eventually. Theres a Bar/Rostok Map for the Take and Hold gamemode, which I'm positive you would enjoy. would love to see more:3
As an H3VR player, you learn a lot of things when a youtuber plays H3VR.
Most of the time, you learn how little they know about guns, but instead, this time I learnt about the existence of the tomacuzi
One thing you forgot to showcase in this video was all the diffrent ammo types, every caliber has so many ammo types and some really unique ones wich i wish you would cover.
I've been following your channel for ages, keep it up!
Another bot… at least it’s a sign of success
The shotgun at 13:00 is from the RUclipsr Commander Carl, he does funky “reload” animations but In real life
At 1:04 I thought it was my WiFi bugging out bc these days its 🐕💩
Same here😂
Oh man, I can't wait until you get into Take & Hold!
The effort you put into this is so clear!
Begone bot! DREWSKI STRIKE THIS HEATHEN DOWN
I've had this game since 2020, watched the devlogs since 2022, and I just learned about the smoothing feature thanks to you.
0:08 Drewski moment.
He always manages to look cool during a mistake.
First the SCP:OVERLORD smoke grenade pin toss,
now the H3VR M107 flip-catch
Drewski being demo ranches brother makes this all a little bit cooler imo
13:09 shotgun is from the series where the dude reloads normal household stuff like in fps games
