Goodwill prices have gotten so over the top, that I go there, but seldom buy anymore.
The only way to stop these exorbitant fees is to stop buying. Maybe they will get the message. After all, these are donated items out of grandma's attic, and they are not a high end antique store. They are a thrift store and they need to be reminded of that!
Normally I don't bash Goodwill. They are trying to make as much money as they can to fund their programs. But this store has gone off the rails with the pricing. Hopefully they will dial it back a bit when they see people not buying. I think too often someone in the back room is looking at auction listings and doesn't realize the local market can't support those kind of prices.
However, the CEO of Goodwill is a very rich man, if his salary were not so exhorbatant thousands more people could be helped!

I agree! Those prices are too high and when you go to Goodwill, you’re looking for bargains whether you plan to keep or sell. They are donated items, for goodness sake.

Goodwill donates a very small % of the money they make to charity. They also do not pay employees very well either.

I am glad our store is not the only one. I live in shelbyville Tennessee and the prices have gotten outrageous. I have stopped buying as much. It is ridiculous to charge that much for used or thrifted items.

The yellow lidded bowl that you liked was antique Hall, or Hull. Even with the chip, that was a good price to a collector! So pretty!

I adore the beautiful square pottery bowl that you found at Good Will. How beautiful! Who wants a perfectly made bowl, anyway?? It shows that it was made with someone’s hands when it’s not quite perfect and how absolutely wonderful is that!! 💟
I’ve never seen a snow baby that was anything but Christmas related so that little piece is adorable and it’s so sweet that you found that to brighten up Molly’s bathroom!
When we lived in our old farmhouse, we only had one tiny bathroom for the SIX of us and I had a wicker shelf much like that one behind the door, next to the shower/bathtub that was invaluable to us!! It held a multitude of baskets of necessary items for us! Below it, I kept a large, tall, handmade, very strong oak basket with a lid,(all very unusual, made by a local artist) that was always full of extra supplies needed for our tiny space. It was a real challenge but we somehow made it work…3 sons, one daughter, farm family!! Lots of showers and dirty towels!! ♥️🎶🥰

Nice video. I think those prices are way too high. I thought ours in the Chicago burbs were high, but not compared to yours. I think maybe because they barely have anything there. Our shelves are packed and stacked from front to back and the workers there are adding to the shelves all day. Carts are brought out and people sort through before it even hits the shelves. Goes on like that all day, every day..don’t ask me how I know, LOL. We get so much and never a bare spot on the shelf. I like watching goodwills from other places to see how different it is and the different things people donate.
What is going on with Goodwill pricing. It was so much better when you went in there and got a cup for a dollar or 50 cents. At the Goodwill I go to in my hometown in Pennsylvania they want a pair of jeans for $7.49 and there's no way I'm paying that price for a pair of used jeans. Tops are up to $6.99. if I'm going to pay that kind of prices at a used store I'm going to go buy new
I have stopped going in the goodwill because the prices are so high. Once in a while I’ll drop in but often leave empty handed. I have the little chicken bow with handles.

Those prices are insane!
I had a memory flashback. Back in the sixties and seventies the local catholic church held a fair to raise money. The had booths for games. One such game was the China toss where you toss nickels and win dish ware. They mainly used mismatched donated dishes and restaurant ware. We would proudly bring home a cup or a plate. When you tried to grab the stack of saucers it brought back that memory.

Wow your prices are almost as high as California. I don't do goodwill much anymore when you can buy new cheaper, like the lemon plates, or for just a few dollars more. Plus we seldom get anything good. They don't sell linens, no furniture any more, and the shelves of plates, glasses, and goods like that are probably ten feet long at best. 👍💕

Goodwill really needs to tone it down a bit. People are not going to pay those prices, especially in this economy. Tony loves Transformers too. I think those banks were $10 new at Walmart. I love clocks too. I do wish you lived closer. We have so much in common. Our Salvation Army has decided to go insane with furniture prices. I kid you not that they had a piece for $700. Great pickup on the shelf. Nice finds.
Good Lord, nobody is going to buy something at Salvation Army for $700. Agree, that's just ridiculous.

@@fortwillie exactly. They will be sitting on that furniture for a while. They used to have amazing prices. We bought a solid wood bed frame for $100 a few years ago. We were lucky enough to be there as they were unloading it. I'm really disappointed. I loved to look at their furniture.

Those prices are higher than our Arizona Goodwills. We also have a monthly coupon for 20% on purchases of at least $20. Without the coupon, I definitely wouldn’t buy as much. I mostly buy clothes, i haven’t found much decor items.
They used to give a coupon when you would donate and that made it more affordable

Our prices are really high to at our goodwill ...I no longer go there I do shop a Christian thrift store...I live in a small place we only have Wal-Mart Big A Lot Dollar General...our big mall is like over a hour away...its sad they charge so much for some of that stuff
I would have left after a few minutes of seeing those outrageous prices and never go back.

What a shame as I read the comments the truth coming out about Goodwill. I was unaware of the CEOs large salary but of course not surprised. These days the rich get richer. Maybe they’re trying to dissuade reselling? I don’t know. I resell a tiny bit and don’t make much but every bit helps. As u can expect the Jersey goodwills are expensive also

Hi, unfortunately goodwill has caught onto the resellers, so basically reseller shopping doing videos, showing what they pay and what they’reselling it for Goodwill is increasing their prices and basically going to put resellers out of business which is unfortunate because everybody needs to make a living, …. The major difference is Goodwill gets everything donated they make 1000% profit on every single little item they sell that’s greed for you ❤️
But you mark things up to resell so what is the difference they are a business also
She makes a small profit while the CEO is one of the best paid in the country. Want a thrift store where the CEO makes less than average American - go to Salvation Army, they turn their profits to help people in need.
Yes, thank you. IF I have a good month I cover my rent and make about 100 bucks for my efforts 😂 I resell because it’s fun and I like the people and I like putting items in the hands of collectors. I’m certainly not making the profits goodwill does! Especially since they get everything for free lol!!

But it is donated, often used and damaged. They need to get over themselves. I do not donate to them.I donate to DAV or Salvation Army for battered women.

I don't know where this Goodwill is located but their merchandise is WAY overpriced. Understand that proceeds go to charity but they also need to take into account that mostly financially challenged people shop their stores.
