In today's episode of 'COMMUNITY & FOOD STORIES' series we have set out to explore the Punjabi cuisine at the home of our gracious host, the Kapoor family from Faridabad, Delhi NCR. The Punjabi community is one of the predominant communities of Delhi's and their food is as vibrant as their persona. They mostly belong to the NWFP and have migrated to Delhi during the Partition.
It was Rahul Kapoor, a food blogger by passion and an analyst by profession who had invited us to his home to acquaint us with his food traditions. Rahul runs a delectable Insta page called punjabilasagna?...
After the warm reception from the family we settled down to listen to some fascinating stories from Rahul's grandmother who had such a cheerful presence.
Next went headed to the kitchen to learn about a slice of their vibrant cuisine. I menu we had ate ke kofte, pani wala paratha, lacha paratha and panjiri. The first dish was indeed unique because the kofte were made from the gluten part of a wholewheat flour dough. The paani wala paratha too was intriguing because here the griddle doubled as a tandoor.
The whole experience was truly an enriching affair as grandmother shared numerous anecdotes and even recipes.
What we tried here were some traditional dishes that can be found in a Punjabi household but haven't made it to the commercial space. Their predominant ingredients includes whole wheat flour, ghee, butter etc.
We truly had a enriching time delving into the culinary and cultural aspect of the Punjabi community as experienced through the personal stories of the Kapoor family.

Dadiji was so concerned for you that she asked "Agar bhook lag rahi hai to Paronthi bana du"... This is the real love of elders 🙏🙏🙏
Yes very correct. Grandparents are so cute and lovable 🥰
She is a Mother in ultimate form
ये खाना नही प्रशाद हैं प्रशाद...🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
माँ है ना इसलिए ....बच्चे की भूख पहचान लेती हैं...
The boy who were helping in kitchen represent the upbringing of a gentleman by a queen.
I dont see why he had to use so much english while cooking indian food. Aaj kal sare bacche angrez paida ho rahe hain

Missing my dadi, even in her 80's she used to make many dishes for me! ❤️
I also miss my Dadi a lot woh jab thi tab woh mujhe mummi ke ,maar se bhi bachati thi
Dadi Maa is very sweet!!! Aaj bhi tazoorba bolta hai jo aj ke generation main bahut Kam hai.
The India-Pakistan partition story told by Dadiji was really heart-touching.
Also sends a message that 'Demography is destiny'
Every home in Karachi has such story.
Never forget, Never forgive.

Grand Children are energy , immunity buster for every granny ...Love u granny ......I'm missing my granny ...Thanks Anhubhavaji!!!!!
As a Pakistani, I genuinely felt sad and heartache when Dadi maa ji told of her harrowing memories from her childhood and unfortunate migration story. It reminded me of my dadi telling stories from partition and migration. Even in her old age she remembered her childhood friends and spoke of them. Tragic and unfortunate. Best wishes for a long healthy life for Dadi ji.

My grandparents stayed in Sialkot and then in Lahore for some days before they came to India after partition. My parents were kids then. My beeji used to narrate heart rending incidents to us. I loved this video so very much. We Punjabi's are a loving community. We are foodies and love to serve. Very sweet Kapoor family. Rahul's granny reminds me of my beeji. I live in Mumbai but make it a point to visit Punjab as I have all my relatives all over Punjab.
Yes ! My nani side was from sialkot and my dadaji ,daddy were from gujrawala .....sad stories of leaving everthing there ,and relocated with empty hands
There's an undertone message in dadi's story of partition, when she says that "hume army trucks m wha se le k aaye phir ek gadi idhr se jati thi or dusra udhr s aati thi".
Though partition with all its harshness is one of the largest mass exodus world has ever witnessed, but at the same time it gives us stories with mesage for generations to come.
Stories of state apathy to curb violence has always been narrated, but her story gives a message that if state with all its might and intention tries to protect human life, protecting human lives is not at all impossible.
Thanks Anubhav for bringing one of those untold stories.❤️
Dadi you epitomise how we have to live a life, always bouncing back from challenges, it’s so lovely to see her in the table center and enjoying the food. Wishing you a healthy and great life surrounded by a lovely family !!
The bond that Mr. Anubhav creates in his food exploration is commendable.
Yet another great series!!
Dadi jee is amazing.. But the young gentleman there.... is so good with his culinary skills..I am amazed
वो घर बहुत अच्छे होते हैं जिनमे ऐसे बूढ़े दादा/ दादी लोग होते हैं... इतना ज्ञान घर मे ही बच्चों को मिल जाता है।
I always appreciate your humble personality and friendly relationship
I request you to shoot on Bengali community family
🙏
Happy family members are very sweet very very nice
Dadi ji ne dil jeet liya.. She is sooo cuteeeee...
Same story with our grand parents happened while the time of partition, it was a very painful time who have left everything and starts from 0 in india, but now we are well settled
Daddi ji is amazing, her voice is much stronger than her and still she is fond of cooking dishes for her family, every family member is King / Queen by heart
Most liked word : Punjabi khanne aur khilane, dono mein aage hai
Punjabi always rocks 🎉
Best wishes to Kapoor Family

I also recalled the pastime memories, the stories of suffering they went through during partition,
Panjiri (pinni)you'll always find in Punjabi family
While dadiji was kneading dough,I thought that it is going to be dodi ka halwa, only dadiji or anyone of that generation knows the recipe

Another magnificent video! 🙏Watching from AUSTRALIA🇦🇺. Proud to be Punjabi and Punjabi culture. Anubhav Sir you are doing a splendid job in exploring and connecting with our rich Indian culture. Your such videos make me nostalgic. A family is something precious which only fortunate people have and value its importance. I am living overseas and understand and can value the worth of elders in our families who always build the foundation and keep up the spirit of love, affection, care, respect and harmony among all the blood relations. “ बड़े बुज़ुर्गों का साया घर को घर और स्वर्ग बनाता है!” Its a delight to watch your videos and help us being grounded and humble always. I have developed great respect for you Anubhav Ji from deep my heart. I am counting days when I fly back to India and visit my family in Delhi after COVID. I will be highly obliged to invite you to my family and share my mother’s punjabi kitchen with you once I am in Delhi. Heaps of love and respect Anubhav Ji🙏🙏

At this age passion for cooking .......dadiji rocks ..........i think u should change name from community series to dadiji series.😀
It was such a pleasure a treat for the eyes, mind n heart watching a sweet, friendly, decent family. What was amusing to see the son cook who is an expert n not the daughter. Both of them are so well mannered.Dadiji is so loving active modern in her outlook with traditional values. It was a delight watching loving mother cooking perfect parathas.I have never seen someone making lachchha parathas with such ease.First time saw pani wala paratha.I love Punjabi food. When Dadiji was saying she makes mathri, shakker pare...i wish i could get.

I think Dadiji is saying about Muzaffargarh district in Pakistani Punjab, not Muzaffarnagar - which is in India.
Yes.

It left a very achchi wali feel in me after watching this.
Dadiji, Rahul and mother left a chchap in my heart 💖
Good bonding , good environment 😍
Otherwise these days children are just glued to their phones n other gadgets.
I think Rahul is not like that...
Dadijii is so humble and sweet ❤️😘
