  • Vlog #10 - Sup Mang Cua aka Asparagus Crab Soup
Today's video, I will focus on a famous Vietnamese dish called "sup mang cua", aka asparagus crab soup. This dish can be found at 99% of Vietnamese weddings. This dish is difficult to make due to the number of ingredients used, as well as the oversize pot. I would say, try it a couple of times and adjust the ingredients to your liking. Nothing is perfect the first time around. Sup man cua is also good for rainy days or it can replace chicken noodle soup when your loved ones are under the weather. However, It will be a real treat for everyone if you do decide to make this dish.
Thank you so much for watching and please comment if you found this video to be helpful in cooking sup mang cua. If you like what you see, please give this video a thumbs up, and don't hesitate to subscribe to my channel. See you guys next time!

Hello Julie! I’m watching you make soup mang cua and I have to ask you this question. What is pike maw? It looks like dried pork rinds. I’m trying to recreate your recipe. Please help!

its also known as fish maw

It’s the air bladder of the fish. It has a texture that’s like jellyfish but more tender, almost crunchy but no flavor so it’s like a sponge that soaks in whatever soup you add it to. Another thing to substitute it with is lions mane mushrooms if u can find that.
