      That is misleading... Public internet has an average of 30+ older populations that subconsciously desires 16~18+ younger generations. It's because they 'miss' or regret those time in their age. This fear or regret grows stronger the older they get without a fulfilling relationship and life to be satisfied with. If they get lucky they get into relationships with their peer, but internet culture made a lot of people indoors or in their own bubbles, which has it's own downsides like social toxicity.
      This is why with idol vtubers like Hololive members, you see off-collabs and how intimate they get with one another... It's not that they put up an act or anything, it's actually wholesome feelings they do have for each other as a 'family' of sorts. With women though, they have a higher capability of empathy among each other, so this is magnified when they hang out.

      Sometimes life wants you to keep taking those lemons, no sugar, no water, no refunds.
      Now at almost 40 I'm starting to have the freedom and budget to have things my way.
      If you have the option to enjoy life and you don't go take it while young, all I have to say is: *Suffer.* You will have no sympathy from me. Life gave you a strawberry smoothie but you still took the lemon because it "builds character".

    While partially true, a lot of the time we just see it as aging faster because we tend to have less memorable times during this point in our lives. If you feel like you are aging too quickly, you need to find something to stimulate your mind, do something you wouldn't normally, it might not be what you WANT to do, but often times in life, the biggest blessing are found in the place you least expect it, if nothing else, the memory of you doing something new will stick with you far longer than just sitting at home doing nothing. The more of those you have, the longer your life will feel.

      Hey dude, I'm gonna put this here for you in case you need it, there's a way of 'slowing' that time down.
      Think about when you were a kid, every day was a new experience, you got out loads and had friends and all that cool stuff. That's why that time felt so fast. So how do we fix it? We do more things, we get out and see new things, meet new people, learn something new.
      Like for myself my 20's shot by in a flash because I did nothing with that time, I went to work, I came home from work, I played games, I slept. I was 28 before I knew it and had done basically nothing with my time because I was terrified of failure. Since then, I decided to actually do the things I've wanted to do with my life, I learned a language, got new hobbies, travel, I force myself to go out several times a week, volunteer, made new friends, better and more fulfilling job (!!!), etc, etc.
      I'm 34 now, and the last 6 years have felt significantly longer than the 8 before then because I have so much more to remember now. So yeah, just get out and do more, don't stick yourself inside thinking "I'll do it later".

      That's what I think too. School and then college things were new and stressful. Lots of things to do on time. And then another new thing.
      You get a 9-5 that's stable and it's the same task again and again. As time pass one gets good at it... And becomes repetitive. Life kinda stagnates and time feels like it goes faster.
      The best solution is to try new things. Before it was the curriculum, bit now only oneself is responsible to find that new thing.

    • @Luftgitarrenprofi

      Routine has little to do with this. It sounds logical on surface level, but the brain actually undergoes physiological changes as we age, where perception no longer works at rapid fire and neurotransmitters having to travel longer distances. Routine is just a tiny part of the whole picture. We're not that simple.
      There's also biological clock perception, memory consolidation, attentional focus etc.
      I think a more important one is psychological time dilation: Studies have shown that our perception of time can be influenced by our emotional state. Stress, anxiety, or boredom can cause time to feel like it's dragging, while positive emotions can make it seem to fly by. As we age, we may experience a wider range of emotions that influence our perception of time.
      I've had clinical depression and anxiety conditions since I was 12 and time usually felt like it went by real slow for me. It still does and I'm closer to 40 than 30. Wheras my time in elementary school felt like it ended in a blink of an eye in comparison.

    The worst part about getting old is all the time you spend just seeing age as nothing but a number and you think you're getting away with it, until something happens like your knees suddenly start hating you for taking stairs two at a time. Then you realize you're not special and you are actually gonna have to deal with all the same Old People Things™ as everyone else.

      I'm 33 and feel way better mentally and physically then when I was 20. Went through physical therapy and built that into strength training. Was walking for years, now I'm jogging about 5 days a week. Slowly learning how to cruise on my longboard (never been on a board of any kind). I'm still online way too much and playing way too many games. Time seems to have slowed down a bit for me. Weather it's trying more things outside my comfort zone, exercise, or eating better, something is making time feel slower than it did few years ago for me. I'm also much happier.

  • @Hy3jii
    @Hy3jii 3 месяца назад +35

    It's important to try new things and have new experiences throughout your life. It makes time slow down a bit more. When you settle into a routine your brain doesn't really process it the same way and time goes by faster.

    It's the exact opposite. The first 20-22 years feel longer because you have more going on. Your day is school, homework, friends, after-school clubs, and sleep; your schedule is booked solid. The days are short when you turn 23-24 and get your first real job and then you're exhausted after working 9 hours and have nothing planned afterwards. It goes by quickly because often times the days are exactly the same.

    • @Luftgitarrenprofi
      @Luftgitarrenprofi 2 месяца назад

      Nah. I've had jobs and only the decent ones feel like they go by reasonably fast. The shitty ones feel like they never end, even at 30+. My last job was picking up trash when I was 33. I've only had that one for 4 months (same shit everyday) with an asshole of a boss and it felt like 10 years.
      The faster experience with aging condition is much more complicated than just routine. Routine sounds logical on the surface and it is true to a degree, but it also happens to young people. It's just a small part of the whole picture. The way the brain changes by aging and more experience is much more complicated and includes many more factors. One them being perception working at rapid fire at a young age and neurotransmitters having to travel greater distances as we age. It's all physiological and throwing new experiences at the brain doesn't stop this.

For the least, I can say my discovery on Vtubers has somewhat made time feel slower and in a way, memorable since there are always things to look forward to every day, week, month and year, whether it's a regular stream, a collab stream, a concert or simply just waiting for a Vtuber figure/merch I ordered to arrive.

    0:55 1:01 I'm turning 22 this year, and I feel that... although gotta admit that I feel like I blinked and kinda missed my childhood and early teenage-hood(15-17, I did some productive things but mostly missed out on being an early prodigy with the things I want to do and use to make things easier fo me having ASD, GAD and ADHD + low self esteem and low initiative taking for myself and my fate, cause my parents inadvertently put me through experiences that I eventually unfortunately developed maladaptive coping mechanisms for which inevitably, when I was 14-21 years old, set in fully and made even my hobbies feel like chores eventually all the time with occasional but fewer and fewer breaks, as did schools and everyone else for the most part, with one or two exceptions, plus attempts, many attempts that all failed cause people were trying to do it for me without my full knowing consent in that I didn't know what I was signing up for and "felt"(knew) I didnt have a choice)... so it's a bit different for me...

    From my perspective time only moves fast when you are 30 if you dont allow yourself to breathe. (constant work, constant scheduled appointments, dates, arrangements. When you slow down and clear your schedule and have days where you litterally do nothing. Time slows to a crawl. People always try to escape "boredom" because they hate to experience real time passing. But then get upset when they fill every gap in their day with distractions. Causing life to move in "the blink of an eye" because your not really experiencing life in real time, you are mentally checking out and letting it fly buy. Its also part of why people cant be alone with their thoughts, they never sit in silence, EVER.

      And, get this, everyone in their 50's and 60's will tell you that being in your 30's is really when life starts for you. Which is kinda true. When you're in your teens, you're just an idiot trying to make it through school. When you're in your 20's, you're worrying about shit you really don't need to worry about because the world doesn't really expect THAT much from you. When you're in your 30's, you kinda just shrug and take life as it comes because you know better than to try and get caught up in all the bullshit. Honestly, I can't wait until my 50's or 60's when I'll actually be "old".

    Think back to time periods in your life; single out a decade, or five years. Some of them feel like yesterday, others a million years ago. And its entirely arbitrary.
    Don't let it ruin your life.

    my teens were a nightmare to me. It was a time when as a really small guy (i was thin af) I got bullied by boys and girls alike both in highschool and Uni. Then past that were my 20's where I only focused on my job forgoing friendly relationships where all i know is that the more jobs i took, the more i get paid so that's gone by in a flash. now i'm in my 30's currently 36 and finally reaching the end of life. I plan to die by 40 since i technically don't have much to do in the world. I have a fully paid house i can get my siblings to inherit, and i never had a chance in dating with how unattractive i am anyways so no people to really leave behind.
    The only regret i have is that i can't leave my mother with a grandchild... I'll have to hope my more attractive siblings can do that in my place.

    People have too many preconconceptions and dwell on unnecessary fears, then suffer as a result. You should value being alive at any given time and treat it as the greatest gift. Being older doesn't strip life of nearly as much as people tend to imagine. You can't change getting older, but you can change your perspective on it into being less ageist towards yourself.

    As someone who's aged past 30, I can guarantee you, you probably wont feel any different after you do. All the insecurities you had before 30 are still there, and all the fears you had about after being 30 will still be there. You just have to live life to the fullest, no matter what the age.
    It just gets harder as we grow older because we just have more and more responsibilities as we age, whether it be career, family, health, etc, which also means we have less time for ourselves. But that also means you should cherish the time you do have.
