@@drombohowes830 Jesus Christ people on here... Thanks Drombo for the history lesson and all that. But I was just stating my favourite moment. Yano like the video is titled 🤨
Who is the commentator for Long Run's win? Moment was too big for him. I just want to hear Simon Holt on all of these, particularly Kauto's fifth. They were only halfway down the back when he raised his voice, "A slap down the neck for Long Run there! And Kauto Star is turning the screw!" I get goosebumps every time I hear it. A special commentator who always makes things about the horse. - Long Run's second win was a brutal slog and he showed an unreal amount of courage to get back up. - Silviniano Conti's second win is very underrated - the way he stacked them up then burned them off one by one was tremendous. - Will never forget 2015 - laid Cue Card as he failed twice before, looking like a non-stayer, and I was sure Vautour would be too quick for him and Don Cossack would outstay him. Couldn't believe what happened. I then backed him in 2016, knowing Thistlecrack was overrated over fences as he spent too much energy in the air. But CC was past his best and cost me more money. - Might Bite dossed all the way up the straight, was getting wise to the game at that stage. Was sure he'd win the Gold Cup. Ground went against him and Native River did him for stamina. - Couldn't believe Clan Des Obeaux was good enough in 2018 but backed him last year against Cyrname, who I thought was a 2 and a half miler. He looked it then, but then won the Charlie Hall this season. Nicholls looks to have done a great job with him, and doesn't look as if he needs to lead now either, which will help him next week, with Kemboy and Monalee and Frodon in there. Lostintranslation probably the value at 10s at this stage. Can Clan Des Obeaux do what Pendil, Captain Cristy, Silver Buck, Wayward Lad, The Fellow, One Man and Silviniaco Conti could not do and win a third King George in a row after winning two? Would put him in beside Dessie and Kauto as the only horses to do it. (Wayward Lad, another great, won three in four years.)
@@drombohowes830 Put him beside them as the only horses to have won three in a row. I made that explicitly clear, and never said he was as good. Perhaps you are too drunk to read simple fucking sentences.
@@Chief_Brody How is it odd to say that if a horse wins three King Georges in a row "it would put him beside Dessie and Kauto as the only horses to do it?" It's a definitive, historically factual statement. Only a fucking cretin would find it an odd choice of words. There is nothing odd about stating a fact.
He just wasn't as good as what people thought he would never have stayed a true run gold cup and obv injury robbed him of a chance of one. He was good just not top draw
Kauto turned tables on long one still think clan D king George will do the same but if cyrname can beat him if 30 hrs toonake mind up done well in this race 3 double winners
Long Run, what a horse!
Nah
2015 CueCard beating Vautour was my personal favorite... The roar over the last two fences 🔊
Kauto 5 times is the moment in jump racing history mate..
Cossak woulve won if he didnt fall

Backed Tea for Two e/w at 33s iirc after his 4th the previous year. Just before the last I thought I was in for a bumper payday.

Put him beside kauto and dessie?? U drunk lad? He couldn't lace their boots. Tbh dessie would'nt have laid a glove on kauto either

@@cmcg3738 you would have had no choice but to put him there as the record books would have shown. Odd choice of words from you.

@@cmcg3738 I'm not the only one that is confused; it was the way you wrote your post that suggested that YOU would put him beside those other horses.
Every time I see thistlecrack I always scratch my head and wonder wtf happened to that horse I thought he would be dominant

The clash with Many Clouds killed him. Was never the same after that.
Sadly injury cut his career short, as it does to many great horses,
Yeah its just a downer knowing what he could have been☹
Every time i watch captain chris i think he might hold on for that win was a fab horse.👍
Clan des obeau clearly loves the track and distance. Not a strong field this year. Barring accidents he will hose in.
Oh dear
