hi, going to Italy and France later this year. I already have a Qantas Money credit card and now looking at getting a wise card. Which one would I be better off using, and if I put money on my wise card do I have to transfer in Euro dollars before I use it or just put money and away i go.

Wow I thought the latitude 28 degrees had insurance but seems it was a covid only thing and has since been discontinued.
Time to swap to Bankwest
Credit cards still have unneccessary fees when travelling...The best way to pay when travelling is by debit card from a Maquarie Bank or Bankwest as of early 2024. You pay no fees, only the MAstercard/Visa exchange rate which should be 1% or less.
Assuming that you're using a credit card with 0% international transaction fees, I've actually found there to be less fees overseas. Australia is one of the only countries that add on credit card processing fees. I was travelling Europe with my credit card and never got charged a single fee for using it, even for small transactions to buy gelato in Italy!
On 21 May Qantas Travel Money is changing to Qantas Pay. If like to join but I can't right now and have ti wait until 21 May to join Qantas Pay
Hi, I just tried to sign up to the wise card, but I am having a problem with it. To authenticate my credit card payment. they are asking me to enter my bank accounts account code number. My banks sent me a message saying do not share that number with anyone. Not even employees that work with the bank. I contacted the wise help line from their web site. The lady said that is the only way to get the wise card. So I did not give them my code. And decided not to sign up with them. Is there another travel card that does not require this? Cheers Michael
Up Bank look like a good replacement, possibly better. Zero overseas withdrawal fees and they use the Mastercard International exchange rate (which I think is the same as what Wise uses?). Wise charges withdrawal fees over the first $350 per month, which of course doesn't go far when travelling.
With ING dropping its free International ATM withdrawal fee, will it still be a good choice for a travel card? It still has no international transaction fee and somewhat good rates?
Hey mate, it's still good really good for making international transactions because the rates are pretty good, but if you need to withdraw money from an ATM then you might want to look into an alternative.
What do you think of UP Bank? Zero transaction fees or ATM withdrawals. Seems better than the above compared.

Would you recommend anyone using the Qantas Money Travel card as a general Australian debit card in everyday life? Essentially it would be Qantas points for free while using your own cash, right? Surely there’s a catch?
The card only rewards you with Qantas points when you spend in foreign currency. So any domestic purchases won't earn you any points!
You need to pay $500 on pre travel items before your allowed travel insurance. This is not complimentary travel insurance.
