I have been doing this RUclips thing for 10+ years, I enjoy showing people how to fix things so I decided to start a RUclips channel. Most of the things I fix and install you can do at home yourself. I actually enjoy it when you guys leave comments and feedback to let me know you're getting something out of this channel.
Hopefully, you have already subscribed if you haven't already done so make sure you do it right now. My background is in construction and I have been installing things from shower doors to bath hardware to entry doors and a lot of other things.
Here lately I have been infatuated with plants, my channel is taking a small turn towards plant life and growing things. If there's anything you want to see me install please leave a comment and I would do everything in my power to create a video. Once again make sure you subscribe and watch all my videos thank you.
My history and where it all started. When I was 10 years old my father would buy me my brother David and my brother Emanuel an ax for our birthdays. So I have been doing some type of hard work my whole life. Imagine 3 - 10-year-old boys in the backyard with chainsaws and an ax cutting wood until noon just about every Saturday. Hard work has been a strong action in my life for a long time.

THIS IS NOT HOW TO DO THIS LOL... 😂 😂 😂
Thank you, the hubby about to try this to put our curtains!!!
Appreciate this Danny. Got metal studs in the condo and was looking at how to get through the damn things to mount a monitor! Thank you. :)
Dont mount in metal look into drywall toggles not butterfly or anchors well you can use anchors depending on weight you're holding up
😊
Hate to give anybody sh#t when they make a video trying to help people. Unless the knowledge is OFF. Do not use any of this "knowledge" if you are doing this type of anchoring. Here it is: If you are anchoring directly to the steel stud (not beam) use a pilot hole or a self tapping screw. If it is a structural stud, definitely pre-drill and use the proper threaded screw (maybe a machine thread) ,if you need to use drywall anchors or mollys, then you don't even need a stud. Sorry, but bad teaching is worse than bad workmanship. Thanks for having good intentions though. No hard feelings. :)
been looking for this guidance all day!!
Is that gold bit titanium coated?
Thanks for this video..
Do u need an anchor or just the screw?
Just a screw.
It's called a flute!! 😊
😋
Super helpful thanks
why are we hammer drilling drywall and metal
Because I want to! Got a problem?
@@handydanny that mah boy
@@handydanny yes. Hammer drilling should be used on masonry, cinder block, mortar, and concrete. That's what it's made for.
I'm using a step bit to make the hole in my car firewall bigger and all it does it's stop moving while in the hole why is that
I think you need an impact drill or a stronger drill.
@@handydanny I'm using BAUER
20V Cordless 1/2 in. Variable Speed Hammer Drill/Driver Kit
@@handydanny what torque number should I have the number on
You wanna be on the highest setting however, this may sound really strange, but you have to let the tool do the work. What I mean is you have to let the tool in bit cut the whole. As you are pushing, the tool is still doing most of the work. If you see shavings, dropping off your cut, that means you are cutting. If you do not see shavings as you are cutting you’re just spinning your drill.
That should do the job however, you have to make sure you’re bit is a metal or iron cutting bit.
Don't use hammer on metal mate.
Damn my guy don't be your shadow turn the Hammer time OFF
🤣🤣🤣
can I drill this threw a rim
Yes but you should use oil when drilling
I got a little dizzy watching this.
🌀😆
now you KNOW why they got him working in the closet. like were most apprentices should start.
😭😭😭
VERY ANNOYING NON-ESSENTIAL "music"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Sorry, do you have a better playlist for me?
Thanks for coming out of the closet and giving us a Handy.
Hahahahaha
🤣
It's been a while for you, huh?
I guess it is pretty off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Clayton Ryder Lately I have been using flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
Great video Danny. Maybe get a Tripod for your camera so you can be hands free. Thanks for your tips!
You don’t need the hammer setting on drywall or metal studs. It’ll actually work better without it.
I agree, brother I was young in the game. These are just my mistakes that I left on RUclips lol 😂
Why have you got hammer-time mode on? Standard drill setting as its not masonry (brick/concrete...)
If you found this to be helpful feel free to donate until I can get monetized on my RUclips channel 😁 cash.app/app/RTQLGBJ
When you drill metal, go slow and add extra pressure.
Ehys he using the hammer function thats for masonry
Thanks for the tip 😊
what if have something pipe or some kind of electric wires stuff behind metal? what if they covered by metal dangerous stuff
That's the fun part about it
You go see jesus early
I really learned from your vid, thanks!! And the free shadow puppet at 1:40 is very entertaining 😂🤣
Lol
But sometimes there’s a metal plate to protect plumbing or electrical. Also, I hate putting up those hanging racks. Stay away if you can! Lol
How the hell do you mount around them? I guess install backing that spans between? I hit some sort of metal plate right where I want to mount my TV. The tv bracket has holes 27” apart, 5” shy of going stud to stud, skipping the stud bay where the metal plate is….
what if you don't have the 2 inch coil what can you use to substitute
Actually I did not know what I was doing when I made this video, go to Home Depot and get yourself a metal drilling bit. The packaging will show you that you can drill through metal with the bit 🤗
Thanks man - I couldn't get though this metal even with a metal drill bit. But your idea of the SMALLER SIZE first worked a treat. Once punched though, I just kept widening the hole bit by bit with bigger metal drill bits. WOW! Thank you so much. Great idea.
same here! thankksa
Rock on!
Great video The word you're looking for is "flutes"
What is flutes?
@@itseclectic24 the threaded grooves on the drill bit
where the fuck is drilling through metal danny i see no metal danny
Turn to Jesus people he died for your sins, Repent of what the New Testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel obey the teachings of Jesus documented in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved, be baptized if you have faith in Jesus then you will live life with him as your example. If you need prayer i'll pray for you. If you want to keep contact with a brother in Christ i’ll keep contact with you. The love of God is beyond our understanding. God bless..,.
Amen!
@@handydanny God bless you
I know nothing about tools but I was able to mount my tv and drill through the metal stud with no resistance.
I did it once before and I used a wood bit and it took 3 hours to drill 3 holes because I needed to keep taking breaks.
The second time I got the right bits, it took me 5 minutes to drill 4 holes to mount my tv.
Nice!
Why you got hard hat in residential closet? 😅😂🤔
Mike D Because it’s a commercial job site you dumbass. You’re just sitting at home broke trolling on YT. This is why you don’t know shit!
Wow you're a real class act Danny. Learn some manners.
@@handydanny lol I just now saw this fool. You are the broke one. No one would hire a person who where is a hard hat in a residential closet you ass clown
@@handydanny you got hurt by RUclips comment and it's a home fool don't try be cool
@@miked8042 It may be a state labor and injury requirement to wear a hard hat when installing overhead items----personal protective devices (PPD). I think that he looks sexy in the hard hat in the closet drilling those holes everywhere. LOL!
Wrong and you're fired.
1 minute video crammed into 6 mins... ha ha.. good advice though.. nothing like real experience and all the obstacles with it.
are those bits made out of tungsten carbide?
Thx bro, can you please say what's diameter of these screws in metric?
Thank you for this video. You helped me with my project.
The noise your drill making is associated with the hammering function of the drill designed for use with masonry drill bits. You should use the drill setting for all other applications.
Same thing im was thinking but different strokes for different fokes
Does anyone know how to drill through glass? Is that even possible?
@@krissykatportal glass and tile bit, sold at any home center. Keep in mind you cannot drill through tempered glass
The shadow on the wall at 1:39 brilliant 😂

Also he said "just the tip" after the shadow part😂😂
You are the man!!! I did exactly as you instructed and it worked like butter! Thanks! 👍🏽
Okay watch you wall
What are you saying?

Great video 🖒🖒
Very informative thank you
1:38 I'm sorry 😭😭😭😭
ELITE MCX PAUSE'
Damn that's a solid drill bit he pulled out. Thicc
Well made video But of course it will always be the last one you're looking for, what would be the point of continuing looking for something if you have already found the bit you're looking for? 😆
Good point!
Thank you handy Danny you the best
NO, YOU ARE THE BEST!
Sup jezzy
Thank you
Thanks man
No problem
Urgh.... metal studs and metal header... making me crazy
All these years later, very helpful info! Life saver, thank you!!👏🏽
Glad I could help 👍🏽
Thank you for this great tips I have holes all around the house as I always drill and find metal which I can’t get through too you helped many people we appreciate this video a lot xx
good job. thanks.
Thanks for watching!
I don't know if this is mentioned in the comments, but sometimes, the electrical cable is run thru the wood studs prior to the wallboard being hung. What is frequently done, is that a metal plate is installed on the face of the stud. They do that in order to reduce the risk of someone pounding a nail thru the drywall and the wood stud and piercing the wire insulation, creating a hazard. I'd be careful that this isn't the case here .. :-)
Why is the drill bit with two flutes easier to drill a hole,?
Thanks handy Danny , your video’s help me do a lot of handy work when I get to a problem I need resolve
The shadow at 1:44 looks like a giant knob.
😭😭😭😭 I said the same
omg it works thank youu!
No problem 😊
Thanks for the video! I'm working on drilling through an aluminum oil dipstick tube bolt so I can put an extractor in it to remove it and be able to take the head off. Most people have all been suggesting to start at the smallest size and work your way up, which is seen to be the best option for conserving your bits and being able to drill straight. It's taken probably over a half an hour so far and I have about 3-4 more bits to go if I don't decide to just start skipping them.
What a pain in the butt

His shadow looks like something
🤣🤣🤣🤪
I was looking for the comments about that!😂🤣
thanks
You're welcome!
Does it have to be a hammer drill ?
No. You can use a regular drill/driver. You only need a smaller drill bit if you want to wear out two drill bits instead of one.
Thanks so much now l gotta go buy a metal drill bit and probably an impact drill 🤦🏽♀️
awesome thks:)
Thank you
They are called flutes. Thanks for the video! :)
Of course the drill bit he wants is at the bottom of his tool box! Ain't it the way!!!
Fantastic!
You should put an elastic strap on your hard hat to hold your phone, lol!
😂😂
Thank you 😊
Pause 1:45 shadow😂
You really saved me and my project, thanks a lot !!!❤🔥
So glad I could help 💪🏽
what does the size matter for drilling through metal it's the type of drill bit material that matters or it's left handed drill bit it goes through a lot easier
No no nooo dude...
Thank you for this video.
Will this work on a metal trash can?
Yes
0:11 love that lil “nudge nudge” , thanks for the vid!!
So wrong... First off stop using the hammer function on the drill. 2nd using different sized bits gives you no advantage.
Sorry these was my rookie years. You are right boss.
@@handydanny actually that depends on the size metal you were drilling into. If it was thick enough you would want that smaller drill bit as a pilot hole then the bigger drill bit for the main hole. Less area on a smaller drill bit mean easier to get through metal.
I learned more from the comments than the actual video!😏😂
Terrible
And you are stupid... nice to meet you!
Good job black man. I learned something fa sho
Really dude?
What? Why you hating bro
