Let's not be shocked if Athing runs MAD for the rest of the season & breaks the 800m WR ala Keni Harrison in '16 after she missed out on the Olympic W100mH Team! USATF will definitely try to get Athing to run all the rounds of the W4x4 & Mixed 4x4 (with Quincy Wilson) in Paris to get her 2 Gold Medals & possibly at least one WR in the process as well!

Let's not be shocked if Athing Mu doesn't run again for the rest of the season.

    What's that now?

Gutted for Athing. Idk if she will be considered for the 4x4 considering she hasn't ran any 400s these past 2 years. Perhaps she enters in a couple DL meets within the upcoming weeks to make her case.

As soon as Mu took her eyes off the track she went down, she must have been looking at the big screen. Why would she at 200 if you are in the lead of bunched hectic race, do it at 600 at best. If she were so much better than the 3rd runner i would have to put her in the Games but she just isn't.

I thought Kessler had a chance to win going into the final

Robert was particularly annoying in this recap. Was unnecessarily contrarian the entire time. He should speak less and stop interrupting so much.

There needs to be provision in the selection when the reigning Olympic gold medalist falls in the trials. The USA wants to have the best runners on the team right? Their selection process is working against themselves. This means USA will now miss out on a gold medal because of their process. Seems silly. Many other countries selection isn’t based on one race for this reason.

If a selection panel chose the three that run for the U.S. in every event, Athing Mu would not be selected this year. She had not proven fitness, she had not raced in 9 months. Had you thought about that at all?

Guys, what are you talking about? Hocker isn't going to be near the lead in Paris. Kerr and Jakob will be miles ahead of everyone. No one will be hanging with them. By 250 out it will be a two man race. It's going to be 3.27 high / 28 low.

The last 2 world championships have been won in 3:29. Jakob leading and trying to push the pace and getting out kicked. Tough to go 3:27 without rabbits in round 3.

@@evanross5810Fully understood. But really do think Paris is going to be lightening. We have to expect Jakob to run 28 low *at a minimum*. Nuguse took the same approach today and brought them all home in a Trials record, but I still see it as being two seconds off the pace. I’d love to see Hocker there or thereabouts but Kerr and Jakob are on a different level. They’re going to run everyone’s kick out of them.

I like the Grand Slam doubling. I like that it's going to put these athletes out of their comfort zones, exposing their strengths and weaknesses. This will help people to understand the drama the races.

LOL, so amateurish, doing the broadcast from a car, outside next to a vent . . . get a room!
