It's always bothered me how it said 80% of humanity was destroyed, but the Rumbling ended before Marley was completely destroyed. Marley is one of the closest countries to Paradis, and the country Eren went to first.
I actually think Marley got mostly destroyed, We don’t know if the entire batch of europe and Asia is part of it…but yeah, I don’t think Isayama calculated it, he just gave a very drastic number that will resonate with us
The fact that Isayama has put his own country as one of those affected by the rumbling, it gives me the feeling that he wants that and it is scary because in the anime it is supposed to be the only country allied with Paradis and Eren betrayed them, fortunately, the rumbling would not reach my country because I am from South America, more specifically from Perú.
So you are one of the lucky one from that part of the globe 😅 I unfortunately got crushed, I’m in the middle east🥲 But I have a different idea for why he put His own country there…I don’t think it’s because he wants it, I believe he put it because he literally scared from that One of the main motives of AoT is blind Hate that just keeps going (sometimes with no reason) to the point something really bad happens…I think Isayama feels the same way about our world, and the rumbling is that “bad thing” that is coming to humanity if it continues to go in the same way. It’s a message and a warning for all of us to not send hate out into the world because it always comes back
Going by the fact that the Rumbling reached the shores of Marley in more or less one day (it started at sunset "From You, 2000 Years Ago", so probably at 5 30-6 30 pm, and reached Marley in dawn of the next day, so 5 30-6 am, since that's when the sun primarily rises), it's probably faster than your average lion or cheetah if we're really stretching things, since Hange said the Rumbling is faster than a speeding horse (which is 30-35 km/h), and visual proof of this was also seen when Hitch's horse was slower than the Rumbling, even though it was carrying two people. SPOILERS The other reason why I think the Rumbling just might edge out a big cat's top speed is because of Chapter 131. Ramzi and others first saw the Rumbling on a pretty steep distant hill. They then took the relatively short route to the town and the Rumbling still managed to reach them with no trouble at all.
Yes, but we don’t have information about mountains (just for example) so we can’t estimate their overall speed across different landscapes and environmental conditions. Believe me, I tried to calculate it using math but it’s just not accurate at all, so I decided to go for something less accurate, which is also better because I didn’t want to go into specific countries that got destroyed
@@MangaHorse Yeah I know, don't take it too hard. You've done more about the extent of the Rumbling in this video than any other creator on this platform, so well done!
What's confusing me is that, the rumbling ended before it reached Fort Salta, which is located in the Southern Marley (If mirrored to our world, if would be located in the Atlas Mountains of Northern Alergia. The map you showed the entire continent of Marley (Africa) wiped out. (I could be wrong, correct me if so.) There is a theory that the Attack on Titan world is three times larger than our world. That's the only thing I have to say, but other than that, great video. Very detailed about the full scale of the destruction of the rumbling.
Thank you for watching my friend 🙏 And yes, I’m not sure Isayama really measured it. I don’t think I heard a theory about the size of the world map, but it’s not 100% accurate. If you place it on top an upside down world map it will look similar, but not exactly. I used a 3D model of our world, but our planet is not perfectly round, it’s actually an ellipsoid… so my measurements can’t be 100% accurate Adding to that, the titans worldwide are moving on different terrain which affects their speed, so they don’t keep dispersing i a perfect circle. Considering all this, we can expect some things not being as accurate. My assessment is mostly rough
@@MangaHorse Damn 💀 at least you'll be with Hange in the afterlife. Also, I estimated the rough death toll if this were to happen in our world. Remember, rough estimate or completely wrong. If the rumbling were to happen in real life; 6,992,448,790 billion people would be killed with 1,043,624,060 surviving. Taken into fact that Africa and Asia is home to 77% of the human race... 1.14% of the human race would survive. Again, this is probably (mostly likely) not true estimate but still. That's crazy.
9:24 Counterpoint: In Chapter 125 Connie and Falco are riding to the North, and Falco points to his right (i.e. East) saying the Sun is setting over there. That said, "Hizuru" literally means "Land of the Rising Sun" in Japanese and "Azumabito" literally means "East People", so probably it's ironic.
I think you are right about the sunrise, It came to my attention that Isayama said once that the sunrise/sunset are opposite like his world. Which actually makes less sense cause opposite Japan is at the east That’s because his world is vertically flipped, which shouldn’t affect the direction of sunrise…if he wanted THAT he needed to flip the world horizontally, if you understand what I mean 😅 But anyway, I think the video is still logically accurate, at least I hope it is
Some things to know: As you mentioned the Titans travelled at different speeds but they also travelled in more directions than a circle + Real life man made landmarks are most likely unreliable as cities are not in the same locations - Geographic locations are most likely accurate altough the climate and terrain could be drasticly different
6:40 This shot is probably my favorite shot of the rumbling....something about it is just so biblical and end times-esque hope they do it justice in the anime.
I agree, it has that biblical apocalyptic vibe When the rumbling came clise Ramzi said it’s like the ground is crying, which is also a biblical term if expressing grief for blood spilled on earth. I think the anime should take this scene slowly, it doesn’t need to be loud, it can be silent and also hit the point completely
I can feel you, I just hope it would really be in 2023, the studio has many projects so I hope they are not going to push it back I’m always waiting for new information, so whenever I hear something I usually make a video about it
I remember an article about erupted volcanos causing extreme climate affects like harsh winters killing millions of people. I was wandering how all this steam from titans would affect the atmosphere. Also Eren destroyed so much ecosystems, forests and ocean life. Thinking about it I highly doubt Paradise would survive long after the rumbling destroyed all life beyond the shores of the island, because Eren would likely overlook such an inconvenience which is understandable coz they unlikely had a history classes within the walls to know about such examples. Can you make a video about ecological consequences of the Rumbling? it could be interesting
Hey how are you 👋 I actually did talk about the ecological consequences in the video I counted all the titans (link below), but maybe I’ll do another more extensive one too 🤔 BTW There’s also a catastrophic attack to all Marine life, they can’t live in boiling water 🥵 There are more aspects of course, but mainly it’s bad for the environment…but also “good” for earth in the long run because there’s less population now to pollute and destroy the planet Here’s a link to the video I mentioned (at 08:30 time mark) ruclips.net/video/LvWc5eS4yes/видео.html
And this raised the new question. Why the heck did the people barely lived in the areas the Rumbling has yet to reached? Unless those lands are still largely unexplored and the peoples only know about the shapes of the continents, of course. However, my concern is more towarded the societies when it comes to series such as Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia. And in case of Attack on Titan, I wanted to ask that do you think the Marleyan society can be reformed? If not, should they be destroyed with the Rumbling? We all saw how awful Marley really is and it seemed to me that it is impossible for the Marleyans to change their way for the better. And this is why they deserved the Rumbling in my view. Because they are unwilling to change their society. And when they finally reflected on themselves and wanted to change for the better, it is too late for them to do so because they have already chosen how their society should function.
Was it stated that the titans moved outwards making a circle? 8n the Manga it appeared as they all went in a set direction instead of all radiating out of Paradis othere all of Paradis would have been destroyed and we know it wasn't, we even see the scouts watching the titans move away from them and not at them
That’s a good question…I went by Eren’s explanation “The titans will go in all directions flattening every piece of land outside this Island” And also, after revisiting the places I mentioned you can see they also fit on this imaginary circle, And that proves they really spread out in a circle or wave-like motion
Incredible Would you please make an Eren and Mikasa video ?! When the final part begins you won't find a suitable time for it So can you please do such thing ?!
Thank you my friend 🙏 And what do you mean about an Eren and Mikasa video? Because I do plan to make a video on Mikasa, but it will be a more scientific one

It is located and if you rotate the world, it is in the middle
