- This is our first video of the RS5. It’s the install for aftermarket downpipes. We went with RedStar Exhaust catless with their awesome heat shield and the quality and fitment are great.

Tools needed
- T-30 Torx bits for the v-bands
- 12mm and 13mm sockets
- Socket extensions
- Universal joints for sockets
- Breaker bar
- Impact wrench (optional)
- Small block of wood (recommend)
- Ramps, jack-stands or lift
- Flathead screwdriver
- Hammer
- Downpipes (of course)
- Beer (preferred)

Hi, love your content! Can you give some guidance on what options to select when buying this from redstar?
Best route would be the Gen 2 GESI cat, 5” for up to stage 2 and 6” if you ever intend to upgrade your turbo. Heat shielding is great, but not 100% necessary, although it does make a bit of a difference.

how is your clearance to the firewall on the driver’s side? Installed these on my friend’s rs5 and it’s touching and everything seems to be tightened like it’s supposed to be

Do you thing it would've been possible to remove the stud from the new one and put a nut/bolt combination on the hard to get one?
That is definitely something we considered, but then you'd have to hold both sides with tools and that just seemed a bit more challenging to us.
These sound great! Did you experience any CEL issues?
You’ll get a CEL until you get a stage 2 tune unless you specify, Gen 2 GESI cat option.
@@Vaguh Thanks! They say their O2 spacers will keep the CEL from coming on, but I've heard mixed reviews on spacers.
Can you explain me what IS a cel issues mean ?

What ecu tuning did you go with?
The RS5 currently has a DVX Performance tune on it, but it’s getting the 034 tune this weekend.

How did you get by the cel? Looking to do this once 034 release stage 2
There is still a CEL, until stage 2 comes out. We just tuned it with 034 stage 1, vid on that coming soon.
Hello I brought a b9 rs5 with aftermarket parts. The car currently has cel because there is a cat delete and the o2 is there Anaya to get rid of anyone them so I can pass emission
Well, the best way to pass emissions is to put the stock downpipe back on. If you get a stage 2 tune from 034 or IE, those will remove the cel. I’m not sure where your located or how emissions are tested there, but those are the things you can do.
@@Vaguh won’t the cat delete also cause a problem?
@@haoli6403 again, I do t know your local laws. The stage 2 tunes are for aftermarket downpipes. As I said previously, you may need to put a stock downpipe back in place for emissions. That’s where the cats are located.
@@Vaguh for the rs5 isnt there another cat under the car because when I looked under there was two welding spots which showed they took something off and welded something.
@@haoli6403 those are resonators. It’s common to remove those from the midpipes for more sound. The cats are in the downpipes.
Is it still stock exhaust from cat back
This one had a Miltek exhaust.
Can you bolt these up to aftermarket i.e awe or milltek etc?

VPS pre muffler delete on currently. About to swap for IE midpipes.

Nope. You may end up with a check engine light if you go catless. If you get the Gen 2 GESI cats, you’ll not get a CEL.

I think she ended up getting some mufflers added, the downpipes themselves we’re responsible for the drone, tho. Mainly the resonator deletes and Miltek exhaust that she had.
@@Vaguh that makes sense, i mean the sound was impressive but the drone was just too much even in the video
