I just recently tried a Platinum nib for the first time and I was surprised how smooth it was. I would like to try a soft one. I’m glad the FC Model 66 came in handy! Thanks for mentioning me!
Hi WendiSue, I love that this was a bit longer video 🎉 It was not only helpful but really nice to sit down with you and make experiments! Show more Frankenpens and how you do it (if you’d like to) ☺️
@@MrsAlchemist I'm so glad the longer video didn't seem painful to watch ha ha. I want you all to see the real process and the reality of the trial and error that is inevitable. I'll definitely show more! I am planning a video about some of the other ones I've done soon! Thanks for watching, friend!
Oh no, the drama!! I felt your pain when you replied the platinum cartridge wouldn’t fit 😭 This video was so helpful for illustrating the possibilities for swapping around pen nibs. Thanks so much for sharing!
I was yelling "housing, you forgot the housing!" 😂 I had the same problem with my converter. The fancy converter wouldn't work with any of my small maker pens. However, I found a more basic platinum converter a couple weeks ago. (It doesn't have the metal ring at the top of it) It fit my small maker pen and seems to be working well 😊
@@NotesFromPastAmy ha! I was so discombobulated! You know, I am actually pretty happy with this nib in the FC. I put that FC EF nib into the serendipity and it's awesome!
I did almost the same thing a week ago. I put a coarse platinum nib in a skogsy pen. I originally wanted to put it in a walltown pen but the converter wouldn't fit 😭
Isn't that amazing?? You won't believe it. It's an Admok M800 which is a knock-off of a Pelikan. It also has a delightful Schmidt nib in it. It cost me under $50!!

Of course! Thank you! Hope you try something like this. It's so fun!
