A basketball legend: Number 23 Michael 'Air' Jordan

Michael Jordan, born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, is a former professional basketball player from the United States. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history, Jordan spent the majority of his career with the Chicago Bulls. After playing college basketball at the University of North Carolina, he was selected third overall in the 1984 NBA Draft.
Jordan won six NBA championships and was named NBA Finals MVP in each of those victories. Throughout his career, he won the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award five times and was selected to the NBA All-Star team fourteen times. Known for his scoring ability, athleticism, and competitive spirit, Jordan was also an excellent defender, earning numerous selections to the NBA All-Defensive Team.
In 1993, Jordan first retired from basketball to pursue a career in baseball but returned in 1995 to lead the Bulls to three more championships. After retiring again in 1999, he played two more seasons with the Washington Wizards from 2001 to 2003. Following his playing career, Jordan became a successful businessman and is the majority owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets.
