I found this updated video after a previous comment about dual 10hp motors, and see you have upgraded to a 25 horse outboard. It scoots along nicely! Freaking brilliant boat! I am another who is inspired by this, and hope to build something
Thanks so much and so glad you are inspired. If you build some thing, but sure to share it on my "homemade barrel boat" page on Facebook. Thanks for watching.
I'm not considering making a boat, but my wife and I enjoy your channel :) - If I had more property and it was convenient to get to water, perhaps. take care and keep on building. I liked the way you joined the mower engine to the boat drive mechanism. I understand about getting the 25 HP motor, especially for a pontoon boat, to get it moving a little faster :)
@@chud327 I always wondered the same thing... movies and videos with people swimming in the deep south... Are only the largest gators a concern? Apparently, people swim anyway. -Any thoughts? Nice boat!
I have lived here my whole life and only see gators at night. I have been in the river skiing and fall down and while waiting for the boat to return, I was looking for those gators.... I hope I never have a run in with one and thanks for watching.
I’d add a ladder for ease of boarding. See if you can find 3-4 fenders, they come in handy if you want to tie up to another vessel. You also need to add an all around (360) white light if you are going to mount NAV lights.
Good tip and I need to start looking for some. I think I had a white light for the rear, but didn't get it on before I sold it... I will try to find fenders and put all lights on my second build before June, I am supposed to spend the night on the boat. Have you seen part 2 yet? thanks for watching.
Hey I just want you to know, your videos have inspired me to adapt your design for ocean use, and in the future when I start posting about it I'm gonna reference you cuz you rock
This one was 12X6 feet. Was a great size. My second was almost 14X8. I think my next will be 14X8 again, it is an all around good size. Thanks for watching and be sure to check out the homemade barrel boat group on Facebook. Thanks for watching!!
@@chud327 I think you're going about as fast as you're gonna go regardless of horsepower. 'Toons are displacement hulls, therefore anything over the power it takes to reach the displacement speed plus overcome the current, is just going to waste fuel. Your homemade motor, with a prop that puts it in the torque peak (about 2500 rpm) at cruising speed is about the best you're gonna do. The good news is that the displacement speed rises with waterline length, so your planned longer boat should be faster.
What kind of drone do you have? I like your frugality :) - You and I have that in common, good for the pocketbook and good for re-purposing / environment etc. I buy and sell computers. I enjoy building or upgrading them. I don't sell that many. I keep a few :) --- I watched part of this again - Titanic is not a good name for a boat - AGREED!! - LOL - Good idea / Wash them jeans in the river :)
I try to be frugal, but not on the drone... It is a dji mavic air. I love it, but as soon as I bought it, they came out with on half the size and half the price that does just as good as mine. Thanks for the awesome comment and for watching.
chud327 I looked those up. No they are not cheap! I bought a really cheap one - saw a few reviews first. Still it’s just a 30 something dollar toy - I should have spent more, but not too much. I may get a better one some day. It’s been my pleasure watching and commenting. Thanks for replying. I will watch more in the near future. I have to get my Space-X fix this evening. :) - catch you later.
Yes, we’ve all been there - buy something then find an updated version or better deal later. Ahh man - could have saved some dough. Well that’s the way it goes. Better luck next time :)
I went to the DMV and said homemade boat. They asked me how long it was and no inspection. That is the Florida version of how I did it. Thanks for watching.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I may need to what you suggested, but I can't show how good it work... RUclips would get me for copywrite... Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
Could you give a sense of roughly how much time and money you’ve spent on the whole build? Whatever the figure is, it’s obviously been completely worth it!
I would guess that I have about $350 in the boat and the 25 horse Evinrude was $475. I recycled a bunch of stuff and found deals on other stuff. Thanks so much for watching.
Nice job.
Fun times. You seem like a great dad!

Well, I built me a raft and she's ready for floatin'. Aww, Mississippi, she's callin' my name... Good on ya!
Sweet, please consider joining and sharing some pictures to my Facebook group "homemade barrel boats". Thanks so much for watching.
Very good and entertaining! Look for gators,..and the kids swimming in the same water? Lol. Love the drone footage!
We never see them in the day time, but I keep my eyes open. Thanks so much and thanks for watching.

That body of water looks like a giant pool of Dr. pepper or Coke. 😂

I love that, please keep me up to date. I may have to drop your name in my next pontoon video too. Thanks so much for watching.
I know it's pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Nelson Camdyn Try flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
@Rene Harrison definitely, have been using Flixzone for since april myself :D
@Rene Harrison thank you, signed up and it seems to work =) Appreciate it !
Yeah, I agree, Titanic is not a good name for it. Good video. Boat is coming along nicely. Liked the drone shots.

what size is it sir? look interesting, i want to have to have one same size like this

A poor man's toy can be more exciting than a rich man with his toys.
Well said and thanks for watching!!
This is some Tom Sawyer stuff! :D
That is right! Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
Sawyer 2.0
Love the family-time videos. Did you ever replace the water pump impeller in the engine? Look like it was peeing kinda weak.
I actually traded it off on a 25 horse. Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
Why the water is with coffee color? It's a big surprise for me. Tks anyways.
That is tannic acid from the tree leaves, like the tea people drink. thanks for watching.
I'm just curious how hard is that to load on the trailer is it heavy how many people does it take to pick it up thanks
Rad boat!!!

Love the vids i got my family in to it to they love them god bless chud and famley

Ott oh! Chuds got a drone!
Watch out! Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
I think those barrels are causing most of your drag. Maybe fiberglass the joints to smooth things up?
That would help! Thanks so much and thanks for watching.

I have hit a high of 7 so far... Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
Cool!

They asked for music on the dji flights, and @ 6mins did they get it! Unexpected but fresh. Cool video. Why is the water dark?
Better to hide the gators that way.... LOL
All the music is very repetitive, but I guess that is much better than silence. Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
That is true and thanks for watching.
What is the dimensions of it? I made a frame that’s 4x8 but I’m worried that it’s gonna be a little tippy
Mine first was 6X12 and was plenty stable, the second is 14X8 and it is even better. Good luck with yours.
You did a great job, but why not paint it white, poly marine enamel, and maybe grip tape the deck. Give it a less home made look maybe?🙃
I actually like it to look homemade, grip tape might be a good idea. Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
Build a jet boat next. Put a 350 Chevy on the back.
Funny, I was just joking about that in the video that is coming out tonight. I put a 350 in my van project... thanks for watching.

Make a lateral for the boat
A ladder would be nice and thanks for watching.
Nice!!!🍉
So glad you watched and comments on so many, thanks for watching.
how do you register a home made boat?
That is, of course, state by state. Prolly, an inspection is required; some states will issue a hull number.
In Texas you keep receipts of what you bought to build it, and a game warden inspects the boat and issues a vin if it passes. Simple
I went to the DMV and said homemade boat. They asked me how long it was and no inspection. That is the Florida version of how I did it. Thanks for watching.
