- Well this was an awesome night! I wish I caught more but the bigger Tarpon were just to hard to tame. I'm a Rookie at the art of Tarpon Fishing so it was cool to finally try it and succeed in nearly catching two and getting on a bite! Be sure to Like and Sub if you enjoyed!

I feel like I've been waiting on this video forever!! Tarpon and snook are hard to beat from shore. Love em!
Man, you earned every hit you got!
Well done.
I was in the Florida Keys fishing in March, 2020 when the Governor of Illinois announced he was closing all restaurants, bars...
Figured idiot Illinois Governor may choose to block re-entry into Illinois or shut down gas stations so, in the middle of the night, at low tide, I ran my bassboat to a private ramp and hit the road back to Illinois.
Couple weeks before, I was car camping so I could spend more time chasing largemouth bass in the Everglades and Peacock Bass in the Canals.
Still one of the best Florida Trips Ever!
Be well.
I actually landed the first two tarpon that I hooked up with and was quite cocky then I missed about 50 in a row and was quite humbled by the silver king 😂
You really got thrashed hard by those fish! One can only imagine the adrenaline rush pumping up!
The freaks come out at night!
Tie a fg knot with a rizzuto finish, i promise youll be satisfy with the way it flows through the guides ! Albright knot is just a setup waiting to break some guides while using heavy floro/mono
I second that. Albright= disaster for anything bigger that 10lbs
Nothing more exciting and a little spooky than night bridge fishing in the keys. My dad and I did it in the 60s around Islamorada using BIG shrimp. Landing a fish was impossible but the hook-ups and runs were amazing.
A tip for landing tarpon is to set the hook harder in its mouth than you would other fish because their mouths are exetremely hard and tough. Keep up the great work👍
Tarpon are heart breakers for sure. I was fishing in my kayak off the beach about 100 yards out and I hooked up on a tarpon and I fought it for an hour and it towed me about 1/2 mile out and i lost it when it came up to jump. It sucked and I lost a $25 lure
Florida law tarpon over 40" must remain in water during release. Just to let you know be careful my friend. Liked this video it was a roller coaster ride.
I believe some places do allow you to net some around that size, if you are on a bridge (gray area due to estimation), only to take the hook out
Awesome job
Those giant fish are pretty humbling
Even more so without a boat
Big up ya chest 👍👍👍
I crush all my barbs when Striper fishing... but with Tarpon that barb is your best friend Rich. Also when you feel them coming to the surface for a jump you gotta lower that rod tip and point it at them while their in the air. I know you know that, I’ve seen you do it. Got get that bonefish and then safe travels up north. Stripers are everywhere and they’re hungry as hell. Hope the AdahK sails soon my friend. Safe travels.
Took me 3 years to land my first tarpon . Hook 10 to 15 per year even when you think they're hooked solid they still throw the hooks . Tight lines Rich .
I’m more pissed you lost that pork rind. That’s a collectible now! Lol
Haha 😂
Pajamas pants with trout flies …. I can relate
Get a small file and sharpen your hooks if you want to land more silver dragons
"We're going to need a bigger boa....uh, pier!"
I've really enjoyed watching the keys fishing videos. The tarpon bite is really starting to turn on and I caught a 60lb tarpon last night off my dock in Islamorada. Hope you go to the keys again when this coronavirus crap is over. Tarpon fishing is starting to get really good. Plus a tip, if you can, go to flamingo and fish around snake bite. Nobody has been going there because of the virus and the snook bite is better than I've ever seen it. My uncle and I have been going there for years and I've never seen it this good. At some points, we were able to catch snook cast after cast. If the ramp hasn't been locked off, you might still be able to launch your kayak at the flamingo visitor center and paddle over. If you go, message me and I'll send pictures of a good general spot to fish.
I’m heading to fish in the snake bight area tomorrow morning out of my kayak. Would you mind lending some info to an interested stranger?
@@daltond190 Saltwater assasin or similar style swim baits in electric chicken or new penny would be all you need. look for other guys fishing on flatsboats around snake bight and fish around there. don't get close to the captains, but fish the area they are in. pull your lure into sand patches "will just look like lighter patches in the water" because most of the snook and redfish will be in them. fish around the schools of mullet there too, they're massive and you cant miss them.
Can you go through some the knots you use and how to tie them?
If you sleep in your truck and get up in the middle of the night, you deserve to catch some big fish. That was awesome.
Nice night commando attack on the Tarp...glad you turned the tide on one
This is crazy man i cant imagine what its like hooking into a monster tarpon in the dark
Freaking Awesome! I love hearing that drag.
One landed out of at least eight hookups....that's about par for the course with tarpon in the Keys!!😎👍👍
I’ve only had the privilege to fight a tarpon and have it jump above my head height while on a flats boat . Still haven’t landed one yet tho
Great video Rich. Congrats on the 80k!!! 🤙👍👊
Nice catch 👍, glad you didn't give up. Those you lost where Tanks. Don't Grow tired of doing Good 😎
You gotta post more snook vids those are my favorite fish to catch
Yup. I'm the guy who said fish the bridges at night. Not bad advice from a guy who lives in Buffalo N.Y. . Nice job bro.
Hey rich glad you’re safe and healthy, linesides just starting to show in soco rhody hope you make it up this year but we have a 14 day quarantine forgot of staters right now so enjoy the silver kings! I’ll keep ya posted brother tight lines BE SAFE!
When ever you're fishing for Tarpon, make sure you sharpen the hook with a file, it will make a big difference.
Bro keep it up love your vids
Son lol none of those monsters on the Blackstone river, dam! That was sick, cheers from pawtucket.
I Can't get enough of this!💪
Sometimes it's more then just landing the fish. You didn't give up. Makes the reward so gratifying. Nice snook the the other night too. Get some rest bud
way to go that was a nice fish
good fishing, congratulations on this incredible place, it has big fish, some of them are similar to the ones I fish here in Brazil.👍🎣🐠🐟😉
You single?
Instablaster...
Giant Tarpon brother, it's happened to me too many times.
That definitely woke you up😭😭
Hey Rich, Awesome vid. Do you think by chance you could tell me what bridge or area you caught all these fish at?
i was about 15 minutes north of marathon yesterday on a bridge fishing with a pinfish and got two little bites but nothing. so i reeled in a little to see if the pinfish was ok (but it was still in the water) - he looked a little tired but i let him push out with the current and then a few seconds later WHAM! I saw what looked like a giant tuna flip over in the water and crush the little pin. knowing it could not be a huge 6-7 ft tuna, i think it must have been a goliath grouper. and it did spool me - never stoped at all...:( could be what hit you if there was deep enough water nearby.
Man that was sick loved it keep up the good work 💪 tight lines
Wish we had those tarpons here in Amsterdam! Great video 👍👍
Such a sick video I wanted you to catch those giants so badddd ahhhh so dope!
Night videos are the shit
Good job bro 😎👍
Must have been fun... lots of action!
You gotta let them run g they will get off on you if you try to muscle them
That looks like an old school mitchell reel!
Incredible action!!!! Great bites!! And finally great poon!!!
Crazy session!! Love the content, had my heart racing just watching
I was in Antigua a few years ago in front of a lake full of tarpon. Didnt catch a single one. They're a fickle species to catch and even harder to bring to the boat once caught.
Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing Rich
Good stuff man
You got a lot of fishing stuff bro
Just spoke to you as you were leaving Ft Pierce Inlet. Hope the bite got better.
That was fantastic footage, stay safe out there
Great fish , Great video 🐟👍
You can count the rings on a fish scale just like a tree to find its age.
That was nuts!
Love your videos..been watching them since last week...i also have 5th gen 4Runner and would like to see how and what so you use for the rods holder? I made one with PVC pipe inside of roof and able to carry 5 at the moment. If you want to see the setup, let me know. 👍🏽
Love the vids rich
Nice amigo rich extrañamos el surfcasting fishing 🎣
Wowww ! congrats, amaizing!!
Saludos from Argentina
That was intense!
Stingray run
awesome video got my adrenaline pumping. Rich, any tips for filming at night?
Great job👍 just my experience tarpon seem to bite the best on outgoing tide
Thanks! Yeah thats what I've been hearing from other Tarpon fisherman
nice man you need a good fishing buddy slash camera man to help . I'm down anytime
Great vid, not being able to see because of the dark was kind of cool. What knot are you using to attach your leader to the bucktail?
Andrus? love it
Nice job!!! B Safe
I'm new to fishing using rod and reel which i bought from a online shop for 9dollars set. Keep safe and Fish on Bro! Godbless I'm your fan from Philippines 🇵🇭.
Bow your rod to the fish on jumps.
Where are you getting the long pork trailers from? When I used to live down there my favorite bait was a "Pork-O but they don't make them anymore that I can find.
Great video, was that in the long key bridge?
I think that Staal is gonna need a service
Good job man tarpon fishing from shore is tough at best-brutal strength. HMU if you get into Gansett this spring
The big ones are hard to catch in a drifting boat. Nearly impossible from land. Then you have to worry about the sharks hitting it.
Awesome stuff man crazy action!
Epic battles!
Great video, enjoying all the videos in the keys I'm planning on taking a trip to the keys to catch snook and tarpon for fun. What bridge or area were you fishing at that night?
That was awesome ! Was that by channel two bridge? Or Anne’s beach??
Killer trip man, have watched alot of your stuff, could've swore I was subbed, but definitely am now. Can i ask how far south you were in the keys? Goal is a big snook or poon when I come stay at a buddies end of march who lives just north of the keys.
80.5k Subs👏🏻🙌🏼🔥
Good mr.
What happened with that monster that almost spooled him? What was it??
That hand on your spool no no no
What is the tail? That you put in the bucktail? Worms? Some Fish oil?
Greatings from mexico
Wish I knew this shore spot in ‘24
Great video!
Could be a stingray or a grouper
That was awesome!
sharked
That one you lost was prob over 75lbs. Pure power.
Damn thats a fish yo
Can you tell me the difference between the 50 yard spools of Ande's Mono Leaders vs just the 1/4 lb spool of Ande's mono? I would much rather buy a 1/4 lb spool for the money.
Intense
What's your set up. Rod&Reel?
Wow it's great
