Thank you aninews for your constant insights and gap filler in the shield hero cut content And before I watch this episode. I was informed by anime414 and another source. On how dark the queen was. Or manipulate. Before it was tone down significantly in the anime )
@Ban this youtube Damn, I never thought about that. That's Naofumi's problem though, the other heroes had lots of experience with the "game" through actual gaming and such, while Naofumi only read the opening lines of the book that (conceivably) would've explained everything or most of what he needed to know.
@@webbyxddd9871 I get that, but stuff like copying shields, teleporting and such that the other heroes took for granted would've made Naoufomi's life so much easier. I like to imagine him by chance traveling to the demi-human kingdom. Suddenly he would have the power and respect of a king.
Honestly, a whole lot worse could have been justified. The king and princess (been a while since reading) had potentially trashed international relations. Getting Naofumi on her side was her absolute highest goal.
@Geek Freak1011 from what i remember in one of the shield hero series (it was either the web novel or the light novel), the queen sent Myne to be the enemy king's wife/slave/property and she died from basically beig raped to death

@@claudeyaz can explain me what happend if noufumi didn't stop the trial, i have seen scene about the queen holding a dagger at her back? what the meaning of this?
Interesting thing here. In the manga, it's the queen who suggests that the king and her daughter have both hands and both feet cut off, and their eyes burnt out, then they be left on the street corner to beg for the rest of their days. She offers this as an alternative to the death penalty. In the anime, she was willing to give her own life to have theirs spared. Quite a difference. I haven't read the novel, so I can't really say. The thing is, the queen can read Naofumi like a book. She offered the most severe punishments knowing that as a decent human being he would be repulsed and take something lighter. She also played on a few key things, such as his age, disposition, and lack of ruthlessness. She tactically maneuvered to get the best result possible for all parties. Bitch and Trash largely get to resume some semblance of normalcy. Trash less so. He isn't really seen again after this point in manga or anime, and I presume he is put to work banished from the castle, I actually didn't catch that he was to become a soldier so maybe that's a novel thing. Queen Melromark remains my favorite character.

To understand how angry Nafoumi was allow me to repeat a line he said in this part of the manga "THE DEATH PENALTY OR ELSE I WON'T BE SATISFIED!!!" I don't think i've read something so satisfying in all my life
I’ll take the belt or the boot over potential heart-stopping electrocution (I know, it’s magic and it’s specifically made to be non-lethal, but still).
Nothing crazy about the queen. She's one of the few characters in this series who actually follows through with her principles and has royal integrity, which is admirable. She does not enjoy the prospect of having to torture her family, but they're beyond redemption anyway. She's one of the most human characters in the show.
She also really needs to satisfy Naofumi as he could literally just go to Siltvelt, point in Melromarcs direction and say attack and a war will start immediately. Especially with the way her country have treated him there would be no way for her to stop such a war and likely both kingdoms would suffer heavy losses and allow the waves to finish of the people who survived the war.
She was also just pissed. Like literally every action the King had taken only made her job harder. Like with summoning all four heroes at once, something she had spent MONTHS talking about and negotiating with the other countries only to have the King not just destroy her hard work but almost bring them to the brink of war against literally every other major power in the world. Not to mention directly put her life in danger (I'm sure the country she was STAYING IN was thrilled to learn about her country F-ing them). Like the damage was so bad that she couldn't even come back home for months as she struggled to advert this and other political fires her husband was setting. And then she comes home to find the Pope pretty much trying to overthrow her and take charge of the country (something any competent politician would have seen coming) and kill the heroes which are essential for not only the survival of the world but also probably a keystone in political agreements and discussions. After all of that I would be ready to torture someone too.
The person on the video, dont know his name, said basically the same thing by saying he was pissed at the fact that Myne mispronounced his name while begging. Either or, provide the same effect.

Imagine being the most powerful being in the room and an ant demands you save their kingdom while ruining your name. Naufumi can kill the king at anytime himself and he realizes it when the king tests him one last time before the church incident.
The Queen was a historian of the four heroes. Remember how she fan girled over Fitoria? Imagine being the ruler of a nation that recognized only 3 of the 4 heroes you studied. She had to suppress her emotions till it drove her like that. Melty was exactly the same way until Naofumi became an outlet for her to express her honest emotions (granted it is just heckling, but it is an outlet).
You guys are not thinking deep enough.. the queen knew naofumi was kind. You really can't make sense of her character in the anime or even the manga, to get her, you need to see the novel... She's extremely cunning, calculates every move, spies on everything and everyone (from other countries to Naofumi), and doesn't hesitate to make the right move, not letting her emotions get in the way at all, unlike in the anime. In other words, she's an amazing ruler, the king's actually pretty great too, but he's been blinded and corrupted by power and hate toward non humans and the shield hero (their beloved hero), which is also actually understandable because he's a man of humble origin who got to a position he's not suited for and was given power over others, fought in the war against shieldvielt, and lost his family to them... REALLY not a fan of what they did to the queen in the anime.
She had a right to be that twistedly mad. Because of the King's and Myme's actions they: Destroyed relations with the neighboring nations Destroyed the small amount of trust from demi humans Caused distrust within it's own population between the church and state. The gravity of their folly is too great for titles and reasons all too petty. From familial standard, the betrayal is great; but on a politician standard, they made themselves a world enemy.
Forgot to mention they got the shield hero, arguably the strongest of the heroes to despise not only the royal family, but the entire country, and was possibly more than happy to go to the rival kingdom and wage a war. I wouldn't put it past the shield hero to do all that simply for revenge.
@@notleviathan855 And acting shit at shield hero despite his political value as the religion leader of the enemy religion, king messed up so bad I can't believe that they spared his life.
@@notleviathan855 Oh and let’s not forget that the queen came back to him nearly fucking dying which if he did die it would’ve caused a fucking massive war with the other country during this wave crisis
During negotiations with hostile nations, the king betrays her orders and excludes the other kingdoms in hero summoning. Then massacres the demi-human town of her most trusted friend and official right after he died defending it against a wave. Enslaved the survivors. All the while defaming and trying to destroy their venerated symbol, the shield. This would make the hostile nations more difficult. How many deaths and forms of suffering was caused by this. I see why she returned home fully intending to torture those two to death. She wanted to take hope from their eyes like they took hope from so many, while she the queen could only watch from a far.
Political marriages happened all the time this way. Consummation usually happened after adulthood (which by today's standards would still be quite young).
Well, looking at the characteristics of Melromarc and its people, I'm guessing it's set around the time where fifteen year old girls or younger are old enough to marry. It's normal, especially for a noble like Melty since the point of most arranged marriages are to tie one family from another... Meh. Pretty sure Naofumi's gonna refuse anyway.
The Queen was looking at it realistically, she really want the "Hero" blood in the family to help ease foriegn relations and the power that comes with having heros in your lineage.
Well, the manga still don't have as much as info like the LN do, but still have more than the anime, at least they animated that scene (idk if the LN has images of this scene)
Because Naofumi felt a lot angrier in the manga. The show producers must have forgotten what happened in very first episode: he got falsely accused of rape and was literally treated a demon by an entire country. The "friends" he made on the first day also hated him and one of them tried to kill Naofumi. The characters responsible for it all are right there about to be handed the death sentence, getting punishment, but instead he stops it and allows them to live by different names. Yes, it felt good to see her beg and grovel, but she still roams the castle freely and even tried killing Naofumi not long after. Myne should have been exiled to an island where she would have a slave to take care of her, but the king should stay, because he is not a piece of shit like Myne; he just really hates the shield hero.
It's not just that she was furious of the kings actions. She was disappointed, because he used to be an amazing man who won her heart with his logical nature and sweet personality. However, it seemed later on he's been acting on impulse, which makes her both upset, angry, and a tad bit heartbroken.
I know a good idea for a punishment. What if Myne was to rejoin Naofumi's party with a permanent slave crest to make her finally show some respect towards authority, whether she wants to or not? And if she tries anything funny, it won't be pleasant for her. Not only would the slave crest react, but Naofumi would likely give her some sadistic punishment the Queen would think of.
@@dragonman2168 Yeah, but on the other hand Naofumi didn't want to have to see her face all to often ever again. So it kinda would've been more of a punishment to him than anything else. Plus she would've been only some deadweight on their journey.

Not really savage for a ruler of a nation. Example in China it happens quite often where one of their children are influenced by the factions in the court to try and over throw the King. They would litterally need to order the death of their own children.
You do not want to mess with the Queen when she's in charge rather then the King. Doesn't help with Trash being rather stubborn to listen seals the deal and being no longer Royal status title.
If I were Naofumi I’d be seething with rage too. And to be able to *finally* see a competent mind in the form of Royalty (apart from the other princess whose name I cannot remember right now) would be like a blessing.
Oh boy, you should read the Web Novel then. The absolute satisfaction and reading pleasure you get at the end of the story is what made TNYN my favourite isekai ever. Although if Konosuba ever gets another serious arc, it might just win the 1st place back again.
That's the reason most LN and wn readers still hype up this series so much, because the original work is really fucking good, a great isekai with good characters and good writing.
I feel that the anime basically weakened her character compared to the manga/LN. I actually liked having the stronger queen. She felt like she was the queen because she could rule the kingdom the way it needed to be ruled, not because she ruled because she was queen.
Noticed that with a lot of characters. If you read the original webnovel(no longer Canon but good reference point for how the series has changed) most characters are actually downgraded even further

For the marrying of melty you have to remember that marriage at her age could be fairly standard for all we know. Because it was standard for that time period in are history if we go by that.
Nah, she's ten. It was normal for girls at age twelve in Rome and thirteen for boys. Welllll, more like the legal ages for them not specifically the normal age of marriage. The Greeks, for example, considered adulthood to be age 25, though I assume they got married much sooner than that (I didn't look their ancient marriage ages up). When most children die of sickness and such...you gotta start early and put out as many as possible as often as possible just to stay above water. Although girls can bear children from as young as nine, it's not exactly encouraged or safe and childbirth back then was already dangerous. Then again, magic.
@@midgetydeath I know that It is 6 months ago, but in medieval era you considered adults when you are being baptized and that is usually at 7 years old. This would've led to the classic isekai harem story had he been sent there. Wow. But this anime took the right turn having him summoned in enemy territory cause it led for a better story and a better Naofumi. Maybe not since he was pretty good in episode one but the event broke him and made him lose all trust. Who knows how he'd been had he been summoned elsewhere.
I dropped the manga simply because everyone was against Naofumi for no reason whatsoever. Kind of wish I soldiered on to this part, this was really satisfying.
I dropped it because the place I learned about it from had mostly been recommending things that quickly turned out to be hentai by chapter 2, and I didn't want to see that happen to the racoon girl.
The Queen was reasonable. Firstly the tension between the Kingdoms because of the waves were great. They were having an agreement that would bind the Kingdoms together, but was destroyed because of the King. All the work that the Queen put into this agreement was for nothing. She then needed to make sure that all kingdoms would not just choose to attack her Kingdom. Then she keeps getting information for all the shit the Trash and Bitch did behind her back. Then the strongest hero right now, has immense hate against the Royal family. All that, together with the weakened state of the Kingdom and the pressure, would make anyone crazy or unreasonable. When even the King and her Daughter plan to kill one of the only lifelines to that strong hero and sullies the Royal name. The Queen should have first make them almost starve in an iron cage in public and then Burn them on the Stake. The King and the Bitch betrayed her trust and kingdom on so many levels the punishment in the Anime is light.
I vote she should just kill Malty and burn her alive, while Aultcray would be divorced to Her Majesty and be treated no lesser than a slave. A bit sadistic, but in the case of King Trash, who cares? He deserves it.
If they're went with the horrible name and losing Royal status as a capital punishment other they can't do anything since thier actions were treasonous and death would be very serious for that.

The queen should divorce Trash and exile him. He in ep 25 in the ending credits was telling his 2 former royal servants that he's counting on them. What could that mean?
Canonically Trash is smarter than his wife actually. He was regarded as one of the greatest strategic masterminds of his era and the only person to beat him at chess was Myne(because he let her). He was simply waaay to emotional about the shield hero to even act remotely intelligent.

I think it was a combination of how she loved her family and her sense of anger and betrayal of her wishes and more importantly the country lead very much to the mental state we saw. Two very powerful but irreconcilable emotions fighting could drive many people mad, if only for a while. She may not have entirely wanted to have them killed but know that the situation may demand it because their own actions. She loved her husband if only at one point and she may have given up on trying to fix Malty's personality but a mother's love is strong. @Not Needed bruh you are talking about western audiences and western shows. This is anime, it is made in Japan. Eastern audiences don’t care whether you see a character want to blow somebody’s head off. It’s a satisfying moment to see the most hated anime character got the karma bites them back. It's interesting to think that the queen was suffering from the same things Naofumi did at the start, they both were betrayed by everyone around them whom they were supposed to trust and be helped by. Interesting video, I never read the manga, seeing how angry the queen actually was really hammered in how much the king and myne betrayed her
I can't blame the Queen for being zealous. I mean, her husband and her daughter directly disobeyed her orders, and were on the verge of attempting a coup d'etat. They even hunted down the true successor to the throne. On top of framing the Shield Hero, these are a mountain of criminal acts upon her rule, and I'm not shocked at all that she was struggling with murderous feelings. As for the Spear Hero... jeez man, you'd think a guy who was stabbed to death by two women in his previous world wouldn't be a brainless letch in this one, but I guess it's his fatal flaw, (literally!) Overall, I thought the episode was actually pretty tame considering the punishments Myne and the King actually deserved for their open acts of rebellion and for framing the Shield Hero for several of the worst crimes a man can be accused of.
The Queen has seen and had to deal with too much shit on her life. The light novel goes even more in depth about it. Still, too bad one of the most important character was reduced to minor decisions. They did a lot more for the king at least.
@@jonathan4554 Yeah, she wanted to keep them around because they're useful and to avoid damaging her country's reputation. thank you for showing this. You're entirely right, her character would have more depth to it and more humane like thoughts, if she behaved in the way she did in the manga/light novels. To us, anime watchers, she's pretty much an extremely noble human who's willing to accept fates even if they are dire (like her husband and daughter having to die for making the hero suffer) So in my opinion, her going a bit mad from all the betrayal, would have just made her seem more human, or we could have felt like we too would have shared in those feelings, had we been in that same position.
This was explained well in the LN. The queen explained that before the sake of the royal family, the state of the country must be put first. She's the ruling figure and she admitted that choosing others before her own family sucks but she has an obligation to the people. Both in the LN and WN she wasn't portrayed as a deranged monarch.

The Anime sure did pretty good (at least for Anime Fans. (Myself included) but if the studio did the Manga Vers. Man! That would be way more satisfying! 😉
To read ya the manga's scenes for the trial and punishment gives a deeper level of satisfaction, but the anime handled all of the land mines that would have gotten it removed from airing very very well still.
Ah, Naofumi, adding the Queen and in Melty in your harem list was a superb move. Smooth, a very smooth move. You'll have to wait for 5-8 years for Melty though.
"You'll have to wait for 5-8 years for Melty though." No, he doesn't. In that world, she would be fair game. It's double true since the Queen already ships them for diplomatic reasons. It's more like Melty has to wait a few years for Naofumi to recognize her a harem member.
@@ArcueidBrunestudTypeVampire what? It's true. The manga/ln came more off an overly edgy revenge fantasy than "Naofumi's return". By wanting their heads, he just became the terrible person they accused him of being. That's not even remotely satisfying. Takes away all sort of character development from him... Raphtalia on the other hand would have a waaay greater reason to want to kill her abuser. Compared to her, Naofumi didn't go through shit. And she fought, it wasn't like she murdered an unarmed person in cold blood or anything, which is what Naofumi wanted to do with Myne. Why they couldn't lock her up, though... -_-
I think the anime would've done better if this is actually what was showed. It felt like the anime was just brushing off Melromarc's sins against Naofumi by saying, "It wasn't us! It was these two! We were just following orders!" all the while disregarding the fact that there were a disturbingly large amount of soldiers and servants who were more than happy to commit those sins. On the other hand, the source material felt like it showed the queen as a true ruler. She knows that, regardless of who gave the order, it was Melromarc as a whole who wronged Naofumi; and she knows that as Melromarc's ruler, regardless of whether she had anything to do with what was done towards Naofumi or not, she bears the responsibility to make it up to him. Oh, you want to make these two suffer humiliation before they beg for their deaths? Consider it done! Oh, you want all the soldiers who followed these idiots' orders to willingly kill themselves to show their guilt and sincerity? Sure, why not. They really missed out.
This queen is more badass and complex than in the anime, which even in that I thought she was complex enough, but this goes even further and adds more to the character that I wish it was all kept in. Her rage and anger are 100% justified as she was out cleaning up the mess that her family (minus the younger daughter) had made, only to come back and continue cleaning up the mess that has been made. But I also like that she is constantly playing the political game, which makes sense as she is the ruler of an entire kingdom. Although, with how much she was wanting to see that one of her daughters would marry Naofumi, I'm surprised that she never does out of political gain.
Wait, why does the Queen need Naofumi to have a child with Melty? Why can't she have a child with him? She doesn't seem that old, her political and world views seem mesh pretty good with his, and it would further her plans to smooth over relation with Siltvelt. Sure, Naofumi wouldn't like it and it would be awkward for just about everyone but its practically the same situation as Naofumi having a child with Melty once she was old enough.
she still loves the ex or Trash, and I think the only way for someone to get out of marriage during this time.is by death and she honestly didn't want him to die
Uuuuuuh, no. The noble man was literally just one of the nobles of this country. His family was all about honor and fairness, so much so that this noble's daughter, a female knight, was imprisoned and stripped of her knighthood and noble status for resisting the Melromark forces that attacked Raphtalia's village on king's orders. There were no summons of the 4 heroes for quite a while before Naofumi and 3 others were summoned, although it would've made for a pretty interesting story if all 4 of them died and we instead followed the next batch of heroes, who would probably be horrified when they figure out that another 4 that were summoned before them all died.
@@biulixer that wasnt a spoiler cause that's utter bullshit. The Nobleman was just that. A critical nobleman. The reason the King hates the shield hero is:SPOILERS IN READ MORE. His family was killed by demihumans. He joined Melromarc army to fight them and distinguished himself. After fighting them for so long he began to despise everything about them. Since demihumans worship the Shield Hero. That's literally it.
You are kinda forgetting also another thing about why the queen was so pissed off. After the summit, the other leaders demanded to know if the rumors were true about how the Shield Hero was treated and how he was prosecuted without a fair trial. Combine that with what happened to the Beastmen village Raphtalia came from and how she actively ordered her spy network to make sure Naofumi didn´t leave the country and it´s evident why she was so fucking mad. She was trying to prevent a new war between her country and the Beastmen´s nation and her family was doing everything in their power to undermine her efforts to keep a fragile peace they have made after the last war they had with the beastmen.
trash king: master strategist also trash king: goes against the queen in such a way that ensures his ass is grass hmm i think theres a sort of mistake there

The queen is a paragon of _noblese oblige,_ willing to sacrifice two of the three people she cares the most about for the safety of the world, and because it's the right thing to do. If anything, she's the most sane character in the series.
When Season 2 and 3 does come out, this crazy side to the queen will seem like a drastic change of character. From competent leader to somewhat of a psycho.
When I first read the manga the queen remainded me of my mom, a woman who doesn't take shit even from her own family, excluding the whole psychotic and sadistic stuff.
Considering what Bitch and Trash did, she's pretty justified in being pissed off at them and not caring if she looks like a villain while making them pay
Elijah I have a feeling the psychotic and sadistic stuff still applies to your mom just that you have been fortunate enough to never know of someone that pushed her far enough to show that side.
The king being an asshole was his own decision there was nothing the Queen could have said or done that would have made him come to his senses. As for the bitch princess, the Queen does carry somewhat of a responsibility as a parent. The way the bitch princess turned out wasn’t entirely her fault alone mind you, it is obvious that the king spoiled her rotten and that the queen did not address the king’s behavior towards his daughter. I am not taking the bitch princess’s side or defending her actions, in fact I hate her very much to be honest I hope that she will end up having miserable life for all the misfortunes she caused upon others because death would be too merciful.
@@LecherousLizard This may be late, but I am ok. She's not the kind to all out beat me if i stand out of line (she's a caring mother, not a monster). She just knows when to put her foot down if things get out of hand (something that rarely happens nowadays). She won't budge if she knows you've done something wrong, (hince why the queen reminded me of her), otherwise she's chill if a little asocial. There are rare occasions that she'll start seeing red, but that's only if me or any other family member is threatened.
Well, in the web novel, the queen sold Myne to the sadistic Pig King and he tore her to pieces (limb from limb) as he raped her over and over while constantly healing her with magic (this lasted for days). He, then, recorded the whole thing and sent it in video format as a gift to the Shield Hero and the Queen. The Queen didn't bat an eye as she saw the video of her daughter going through that sort of torture. Naofumi was taken aback by this while Motoyasu and Trash broke down. I still feel sick remembering that chapter from the web novel. I was caught off guard. I would have been fine it were just a rape scene but it was not.
we’ll that’s a bit extreme, but putting her to a swift death would be appropriate for her sins. Just a shame that the king can’t be killed because of his political influence..
Yeah it kinda sucked they nerfed her in the anime to seem sensible and caring, she was a real badass in the novels. And no, she isn't crazy, and in the novels you can see that most of what she says and does is quite sensible and calculated, you also didn't mention the suggestion to send her into a political marriage with the biggest kingdom, into the king's harem, the king who would torture and kill women for his pleasure. I don't think you did her justice in this, the anime and manga just change too much about her compared to the novel that her whole character just seems to fall apart.
in general the anime tones down a lot of the darker stuff in the story as well as how difficult everything is which kinda tells you how dark the original story could be, honstly, if THIS is the lighter and softer direction
Yeah, the light novel gives you Naofumi’s internal dialogue, which makes things darker. In the light novel, he will go out of his way to make the people he doesn’t like suffer (usually not to any extreme, but it is hard to call him kind when he gets like that). It also lets you know how twisted his mind is, he is in a dark place early on, his thoughts really show how consumed by rage and revenge he is early on.
9:15 The stuff done by the king that made the queen become streesed was clearly explained in this video. I seriously liked the way how you put the manga and anime reference back to back even thou the event was a bit different
Lot of people don't understand the Queen and shy she took do long to make an appearance so this post is aimed at those people. The Queen was away at the ”United Nations” taking part in a summit between the largest and most powerful nations to figure out how to beat the waves. This entailed figuring out which country summoned what hero. A single country was never ever supposed to summon and have all of the heroes. Shield hero was never meant to be summoned to Melromarc due to it being a fascist state that practices human superiority over Demi-humans. But the King-Consort summoned them all and it pissed off all of the countries including the Queen and nearly started a WW3. The Queen did absolutely everything diplomatically to avert this possible world War. She ordered her husband to make concessions to favor the shield hero. But he didn't do what she ordered and she was busy putting out the fires her husband started to go there to pull him into line. So she covertly assisted Naofumi. She’s basically Nick Fury.
@@FOXCYBORGNINJA I wouldn't call it facist...just a typical autocracy. There were always people that became slaves and where 'lower humans'. Like the Jews where handled the same in the middle age.

@@fragrantwinter8233 I would just not piss the queen off period. But, eh, that might just be me.
Nothing crazy about the queen. She's one of the few characters in this series who actually follows through with her principles and has royal integrity, which is admirable. She does not enjoy the prospect of having to torture her family, but they're beyond redemption anyway.
She's one of the most human characters in the show.
The queen know that the world need all 4 hero if they want to survive and even with all 4 heroes working together the odd’s is not with them
She also really needs to satisfy Naofumi as he could literally just go to Siltvelt, point in Melromarcs direction and say attack and a war will start immediately.

Because of the King's and Myme's actions they:
Destroyed relations with the neighboring nations
Destroyed the small amount of trust from demi humans
Caused distrust within it's own population between the church and state.

Then massacres the demi-human town of her most trusted friend and official right after he died defending it against a wave. Enslaved the survivors. All the while defaming and trying to destroy their venerated symbol, the shield. This would make the hostile nations more difficult.

Hisoka The Light Novel is even better

@@xxrolloutxx1143 she does, in the Web Novel at least, but the Light Novel seems to be heading to that direction.

I know a good idea for a punishment. What if Myne was to rejoin Naofumi's party with a permanent slave crest to make her finally show some respect towards authority, whether she wants to or not? Not really savage for a ruler of a nation. Example in China it happens quite often where one of their children are influenced by the factions in the court to try and over throw the King. They would litterally need to order the death of their own children.

FOR THE IMPERIUM OF MAN
The Queen was reasonable.
That ain't even unreasonable, the fact that she managed to be composed still shows just how fucking great as a queen she is
Torturing to death is most satisfying way for revenge

I think it was a combination of how she loved her family and her sense of anger and betrayal of her wishes and more importantly the country lead very much to the mental state we saw. Two very powerful but irreconcilable emotions fighting could drive many people mad, if only for a while.
She may not have entirely wanted to have them killed but know that the situation may demand it because their own actions. She loved her husband if only at one point and she may have given up on trying to fix Malty's personality but a mother's love is strong.
King Trash's hatred of demi-humans and the shield hero is toxic and misplaced but it is also understandable. He has suffered and lost a lot in his life because of the former shield hero and individuals who just so happened to have been demi-humans.

It's interesting to think that the queen was suffering from the same things Naofumi did at the start, they both were betrayed by everyone around them whom they were supposed to trust and be helped by. Interesting video, I never read the manga, seeing how angry the queen actually was really hammered in how much the king and myne betrayed her
Interesting parallel I just realized…
They did a lot more for the king at least.

thank you for showing this. You're entirely right, her character would have more depth to it and more humane like thoughts, if she behaved in the way she did in the manga/light novels. To us, anime watchers, she's pretty much an extremely noble human who's willing to accept fates even if they are dire (like her husband and daughter having to die for making the hero suffer)
So in my opinion, her going a bit mad from all the betrayal, would have just made her seem more human, or we could have felt like we too would have shared in those feelings, had we been in that same position.
This was explained well in the LN. The queen explained that before the sake of the royal family, the state of the country must be put first. When Naofumi was at his darkest, I could totally see him wanting her slaughtered. But after meeting Raphtalia, Filo and Melty, becoming close with them and appreciated by them, I can't imagine it.
I want to see more of their suffering on season 2.
Naofumi should have married the Queen.
Sunokanse this comment , yes.
@Romeo Tango woahhh chill
The queen is definitely an 11/10
It would be the ultimate humiliation for Bitch and Trash
@Romeo Tango nah it's just the queen m8 chill
Wait, why does the Queen need Naofumi to have a child with Melty? Why can't she have a child with him? She doesn't seem that old, her political and world views seem mesh pretty good with his, and it would further her plans to smooth over relation with Siltvelt. Sure, Naofumi wouldn't like it and it would be awkward for just about everyone but its practically the same situation as Naofumi having a child with Melty once she was old enough.
Omega brain comment
agreed on this one too.
She still loves old dude
she still loves the ex or Trash, and I think the only way for someone to get out of marriage during this time.is by death and she honestly didn't want him to die
Because she's already married. And even after Trash is no longer her king, he's still her husband.
It all makes sense the "noble man" that she trusted was the last "Shield Hero", and that's why the king hated him so much!
its more like because he is the god of his enemy
Man could you have put a made a spoiler warning like this
I watch the anime and I would have liked to find that out during the anime
@@bartudundar3193 I’m thanks
You are kinda forgetting also another thing about why the queen was so pissed off. After the summit, the other leaders demanded to know if the rumors were true about how the Shield Hero was treated and how he was prosecuted without a fair trial. Combine that with what happened to the Beastmen village Raphtalia came from and how she actively ordered her spy network to make sure Naofumi didn´t leave the country and it´s evident why she was so fucking mad. She was trying to prevent a new war between her country and the Beastmen´s nation and her family was doing everything in their power to undermine her efforts to keep a fragile peace they have made after the last war they had with the beastmen.
trash king: master strategist
also trash king: goes against the queen in such a way that ensures his ass is grass
hmm i think theres a sort of mistake there
Master strategist huh?
16:21 those 2 noble servants must be helping him even after his career as king was ruined. Have they also been stripped form nobility too? They were last seen on the end credits of ep 25 and trash is clownless and capeless.

The queen is a paragon of _noblese oblige,_ willing to sacrifice two of the three people she cares the most about for the safety of the world, and because it's the right thing to do. If anything, she's the most sane character in the series.
0:30 had me laughing for the rest of the episode, I kept hearing demiurge saying "it ain't much but its honest work"
i didn't expect to see a scene from Grancrest Senki in this video, such an under rated anime
I love demiurge happy farm, it's a happy place
daniel dragotti Yeah Best royal 👑 WAMEN See what I did there???
You OK there, buddy?
Well what happened to trash to be honest I don't show mercy to scum not even pity.
@Andrés Francia Lol, right bitch got that coming.
That is well fucked. I’m glad that didn’t make it into the anime. Christ.
we’ll that’s a bit extreme, but putting her to a swift death would be appropriate for her sins. Just a shame that the king can’t be killed because of his political influence..
She definitely got what she deserved but that scene was oddly detailed… I skipped a bit of it while reading Bc it was just way too detailed..
AWESOME VIDEO
CUT CONTENT IS MY FAVORITE SERIES ON RUclips
Judging by the novals vs anime neofumi and his party went thru hell in the novals the anime made it seem less hell and more easyier for him
in general the anime tones down a lot of the darker stuff in the story as well as how difficult everything is
which kinda tells you how dark the original story could be, honstly, if THIS is the lighter and softer direction
You mispronounced his name? So you have chosen DEATH
9:15 The stuff done by the king that made the queen become streesed was clearly explained in this video. I seriously liked the way how you put the manga and anime reference back to back even thou the event was a bit different
Everyone was simping for the queen when this episode came out.
I love the queen even more now
Lot of people don't understand the Queen and shy she took do long to make an appearance so this post is aimed at those people.
@@FOXCYBORGNINJA I agree with everything you said. And melromarc can also be called a facist state sense they have demi humans as slaves
@@valdr2286 But the same could be said of Siltvelt being Melromarc's polar opposite.
@@FOXCYBORGNINJA I wouldn't call it facist...just a typical autocracy. There were always people that became slaves and where 'lower humans'. Like the Jews where handled the same in the middle age. They weren't allowed to have jobs and had to live in their own districts.
Also nations which are the complete opposites start to go extra hard against the other nations people. Here we even have the human/demihuman gap, so two separate races (or one and and many races gap).
@@mastercontrO yeah that's why i said also
The Queen just solidified her best girl-status
No, she solidified her best woman status, not best girl status, raphtalia is best girl
It helps being Queen is the icing on the cake.
