I followed your instructions and modified both my GeyserWise and Sonoff basics. Firstly, both my GeyserWise were different, and none of them looked the same as yours. The principle, however, remains the same. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the Sonoff to time the geyser (in which case the GeyerWise element needs to be powered on all the time for the Sonoff to switch the broken bridge according to my schedule) or if I wanted to use the GeyserWise timer (in which case the Sonoff needs to be on all the time and can be switched off during load-shedding or if required). Unfortunately, both scenarios don't work because of a logic in GeyerWise that causes an error E4 if the element is switched on and heats at a rate of less than 4°C per hour. The clever guys at GeyserWise did this for several reasons; no power supply to the element, element failure, leaking hot water pipe or pipework not installed correctly. A complex equation calculates how long it should take for the body of water to be heated from the existing temperature to the set temperature. If the heating rate is lower, error E4 occurs, and the GeyerWise element is switched off. To eliminate the error and reset GeyerWise, the geyser needs to be switched off for a couple of seconds before switching it back on. A Sonoff POWR3 or Sonoff POW20 Elite is probably a better way to achieve the same without modifying your GeyserWise and Sonoff.
Great idea! My son needed something like this to prevent his solar system's battery from being drained when he's at work and loadshedding unexpectedly kicked in. Would you not get an "faulty element" error on your Geyserwise?

Fantastic idea bud. Was just wondering. Is there anyway to get this to work with the Sonoff Temperature and Humidity THR320D. For example to wire in the Temperature sensor so that the sonoff sees it. I also want to pur the water sensor in that water catch tray so that if there is a leak it can cut power and send me a notification. Maybe even trigger a cut-off valve for the water.
